“My favorite place to get coffee in DC and a great neighborhood gem! They use counter culture coffee. I especially love their seasonal drink menu, and always crave their black and yellow coffee drink (lemonade and espresso). I’m not normally a sweet coffee person, but this place is an exception because of how well crafted their drinks are (think similar to a nice cocktail bar). I love that when you dine in, they include special toppings with their seasonal drinks. The place is cozy, well decorated, and the perfect place to catch up with a friend. Food and cocktails are great too - especially for a quick meal / breakfast / snack. My favorites are the sausage egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and ajiaco soup.“

Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Mom, forgive me for saying this, but Sabores Tapas Bar is as good as, if not better than, your cooking, and the service was amazing. Wow. I’ve found the place. It’s so good that I want to go back and try dishes I normally don’t like, just to see if they can make me love them. I can’t wait to return. My taste buds have found the love of their life at Sabores Tapas Bar.“

“It's a great place to stop in and get a bite to eat if you must and service is wonderful but the portions were tiny and not very good I got the carne asada at lunch, which was $13 and the piece of meat was about 4 inches by 4 inches and obviously a very thin, cheap cut with maybe about 2 tablespoons of rice and like 6 or 7 fries tossed on top.
