“The food here was pretty good. It’s a little small and cramped how it’s set up. Kinda feels like you are on top of others getting out of your chair if you are in the tables area. Your back is pretty close to the booths. Had to put my jacket on after leaving my table because I didn’t want to hit the person in the booth. For vegans: I shared the vegetarian burrito with my husband. Just asked for no cheese/queso. It was already on the vegetarian section of the menu so I assumed the rice was vegan since if it’s on the vegetarian menu it shouldn’t be made with chicken broth. But you can always confirm prior to eating. The burrito was huge and I’m glad we shared. Salsa and Guac is very delicious.“
“We strolled in after a 5 hour drive and we were looking for a spot to eat around 10pm on a Friday night. This place was recommended by the front desk receptionist at our hotel so we decided to give it a try. Location was in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. The menu had plenty of variety so we ordered the butter chicken bowl, Rich's fried chicken sandwich and black garlic & truffle wings. Unfortunately, butter chicken bowl photo didn't make it! Everyone was starving at the time. Butter chicken bowl was really good! Portion size was huge! Definitely could be shared. Don't forget to get some Garlic naan that goes well with it. Chicken sandwich though!? Was delicious and a decent size for my appetite. Would order that again when I'm in town. Black Garlic & Truffle wings were good as well paired with spicy garlic sauce & ranch. Overall, it was pretty good. I'd definitely come back again to try something different.“
“Came here with my entire frisbee team after a tournament, and they sat all 20 of us on about 15 minutes notice, so shoutout them for that to start. As a whole, they handled the logistics of such a large group very well and got food out in time and on schedule. I got the arroz con Pollo, which was decent and a large portion. Also, regarding service, they kept the chips + salsa coming which was awesome.Never had the margaritas yet, but El Rods is pretty solid from what I've seen.“
“This is the lunch place for Arroz con Pollo: a large portion served hot and fast, with mixed vegetables and lots of queso. I compare lots of Mexican restaurants on this one dish; El Mariachi has them all beat. That part is 5 stars [*****]. The other part is the dilapidated condition of the building, both inside and out - it really needs a make-over 2 stars [**]. There's going to come a point when my wife and I choose not to go there anymore because of this issue. ?“
“This was an unexpected stop for me for lunch but I was craving something different. They have a parking lot but I’m sure it gets filled up quick in the evenings. The restaurant was clean and well kept. I had the Baja Shrimp tacos & fried plantains. The food was excellent! I had a Moscow Mule while I waited but the food was quick to come out (also excellent)! The waitress was super sweet and helpful with recommendations.. I actually got what she suggested. I would definitely recommend this place. They also had a lengthy drink menu. Really everything on the menu.. food and drinks alike looked good! I’ll definitely stop in when I’m back in the area.“
