“I've been getting takeout from this place for thirty years, their egg rolls used to be huge. The egg rolls are still bigger than other restaurants, but not as big as they used to be. This restaurant is takeout or delivery only, there are no tables, just an order counter and some seats to wait for your food. It's a reliable option, but not the best Chinese food in the area.“

“What a fun place! They have all sorts of models of anime characters and other pop culture stuff on the counter and on some shelves. Cool decor. Very clean! Great little extras, like homemade lemonade and homemade Arnold Palmer’s. Finally, delicious food! Highly recommended!“

The owner is always friendly and adds a personal touch to the experience. Keep in mind it's takeout only, but that’s never been an issue. It's on the lower level near the elevator. However Sampan is closed on Mondays (currently) and I was at Pitkins so I stopped in and ordered the General Tso Chicken lunch special takeout (currently $10.75 with tax). “I order lunch from here frequently because it is right next to my office building. They have the best Hot and Sour Soup I've found in the area. Steamed rice is super fluffy and no overcooked. Crab Rangoon is delicious! Delivery is super quick, too. Definitely recommend!

“This is my typical go to Chinese place. The food is good, the service is fast, the price is affordable, and the people are very nice. The place looks a little run down (so 4 starts for atmosphere) but I don't really care as I typically do take out anyways.“

The food was also really good. I especially liked their pad thai, the crispy beef, the veggie egg rolls, and their donuts with chocolate topping. Always so tasty! :) Agree takes longer than told, and that crispy orange beef is delicious but not necessarily crispy meat, but golly it is so good! Atmosphere fine for take-out. Many yummy dishes. Have not tried the burgers or Thai dishes, I think included so that nearby businesses have great options. Have been there three times, all different entrees and appetizers. . :) 😋“

“What you receive for the amount spent is definitely 5 stars. I've had my fair share of Chinese take out. Gunston Wok is up at the top. I see some reviews giving this place a bad review based on a bad experience with a specific menu item. This seems unfair. I too have things I avoid here (I'm looking at you, curry dishes). I love Chinese curry, but the curry from here just tasted weird (would not buy again). It is normal for any food establishment to have a menu item you avoid. The few dishes that I frequently get are well made and competitively priced (beef with broccoli, lo mein, hunan shrimp, and a few others). The chef is skilled. Overcooked shrimp is leathery, undercooked tastes raw. The chef gets it right, every time. The taste never changes, so I know what to expect when I make an order. Today, I ordered sweet and sour pork combination platter and replaced the roll/soup option with wonton soup (costs slightly extra). The wonton broth is clear and not too greasy. The wonton dumpling in the soup uses thin dough (tastes better than other places that use thick dough). $11.50 total spend. Worth it. Have I had better Chinese food? Sure. But such places charge $25-$40 per dish. Gunston Wok is superior in satisfaction-to-cost ratio.“

“Wow!! I ordered the Pu Pu platter, Kung Pau Four Seasons, Szechuan String Beans, Fried rice Combo, and Chicken Vegetable Soup. I asked for extra ginger to be added to soup because my wife wasn't feeling well and they made it just perfect! I tried everything when I got hone from pick-up, (only 10 minutes), and everything was absolutely "fresh"! They were polite and paid attention to my order even though they were very busy. “First time customer came away very impressed. I have had trouble finding respectable Asian cuisine in Manassas. I passed by one day and remembered the name. I ordered online and was called for confirmation. 3 entrees for just a tick over $20. House special egg foo young was huge and super tasty. The gravy topped it off wonderfully. Chicken Chow Mein was plentiful and piping hot with amazing flavor. Egg rolls were also spot on.

We've ordered Crispy Sesame Beef, Sesame Chicken, General Tso Chicken, Shrimp With Mixed Vegetables, Chicken Lo Mein, 2 different Chow Mei Fun, egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoon, and the dumplings and never been disappointed with any of it. The one thing I was a bit disappointed with was the fried rice. It's not typical fried rice, and I don't like it quite as much. Deliveries always arrive quicker than promised, and the delivery driver has always been nice to us.“
