“This is the best Chinese takeout we have found in the area - we drive here from Waldorf to pick it up because it really is better than any other place we have found. The only one that comes close is Hunan Star in La Plata but this is still preferred. My husband loves their General Tso chicken and I'm a big fan of their Egg Foo Young. Portion sizes are large so we always have leftovers! Worth the drive to Manokeek!“
“My first time going to this place. I tried the chicken wings and they were perfect; but expensive. J went a second time in same week and brought more wings this time for my son and he ate them all! Will go back again for wings only. I'm not sure if I want to buy anything else after reading some of the reviews about other food items. But the wings had me at first bite! Lol! The service was great though.“
“My family and I ate here twice, this past week, while on vacation. Our server, Jasmine was incredibly nice and attentive on both occasions. On top of that, almost everything we ordered was very delicious! The restaurant also has a kid’s menu (e.g. Mac & Cheese, chicken nuggets, etc.) that comes in very handy if your kids aren’t partial to Indian food yet :)“
“This Chinese restaurant is very clean and decorated nicely. The food is freshly prepared with fresh ingredients. I called in my order, everything was correct and it was ready when I got there to pick it up. I've had there food before and I have never been disappointed . Best Chinese restaurant in the area between Suitland MD, Clinton MD and Fort Washington MD.Parking: Parking lot parking, plenty of spaces out front of establishment.“
“I tried this place for the first time. When I moved to Southern Maryland, I was told it was either a Hunan Star or Benny's for the best Chinese. I can safely say it is Benny's for me. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice, and an order of Crab Cheese Rangoons. The General Tso's Chicken was tasty. It's thick sticky red sauce was great and the white and broccoli was decent. The Shrimp Lo Mein was great. The Lo Mein had a lot of flavor and there was a good amount of shrimp added. The Rangoons were very good as well. The cream cheese was sweet and that is my preferred filling vs the sour version some places use. Prices were reasonable for the food ordered as well.“
“This is our favorite sushi place in Old Town. Have been coming here since they opened maybe five years ago. The owner used to be a sushi chef at MoMo Sushi, which used to be our local favorite. His sushi here has consistently been top quality whereas we were disappointed with quality once or twice at MoMo and its always too cramped. We usually get the sushi combo.“
“The food tastes amazing! Highly recommend the noodles. The XLB was really good, but pricey at $14 for only 6 dumplings. Definitely one of the top Chinese restaurants in the Alexandria area. Worth going for the food! But prepare to drop some money for the food. The interior decoration is very aesthetic, has a very traditional Chinese vibe inside.“
“Ordered for delivery. This place wasn't on my radar near my home, I don't know why! This place is amazing. The only restaurant so far that knows how to make crab rangoons right. It's hard to find good Chinese food in this area. Give it a try, it's good!“
“The food here is always hot, fresh and delicious. "Mr. Simon," "Ms. Bernice" and "Ms. Season" always provide great customer service especially Simon and Bernice. They are always friendly, polite and professional. This is my favorite carry out in the area!! The Singapore noodles, shrimp egg foo young, steak and cheese, broccoli and garlic sauce, honey wings and chicken with mumbo sauce are all my favorites!Vegetarian options: The Broccoli with Garlic Sauce is my favorite vegetarian option.“
“I had the beef with broccoli and fried rice! Everything was tasty. 4 starts because I also had the hot and sour soup and it was bad. Tasted burnt and I’m sad because the soup was the reason I ordered :(Some restaurants get it absolutely right and others…. Well ?“
“First time trying this highly recommended Chinese restaurant and I was very happy with how fast the delivery was and how hot and fresh ALL of the food was! We fed a bigger group so we ordered a variety of foods such as sesame chicken (juicy and fresh not old and dry), broccoli and chicken (so fresh), pork fried rice, pork lomein, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup and crab Rangoon! Seriously all of the food had so much flavor and all came hot and fresh! Definitely ordering from here again!“
“I live down the street so this is my local Chinese place, and I love it! Love the egg drop and wonton soup and they must think I am crazy cause I regularly order just soup from them. But everything else I have had is also good - fried rice, lo mein, the basics. Always ready on time when I walk in! Thanks from the crazy soup “
“Haven’t visited for a long time. Today , the food was great. Asked for crispy tofu and very spicy. Spot on. Mai tai x 2 was spot on. Our waiter was very attentive. Restaurant has a relaxed setting. Food was plentiful and good. Egg rolls were super crispy. Will be back.“
“The folks at Goodies in Indian Head have always been very pleasant to me! Tonight they remembered me and grabbed my order to hand me before asking for my order number. They noted that that had not seen me in awhile and I relayed I had retired from the Navy base in Indian Head so wasn't going past their restaurant on a regular basis now. Food has always been good! Love their General Tso's Chicken wings!“
“Friendly staff and yummy food that was prepared fast. I went in Saturday haven't been in the area for almost a year. I noticed immediately it was extremely cold the woman in the kitchen was the only one there and business was slow. She was bundled up and cooking my food. It broke my heart thinking about working in those frigid conditions. I hope this restaurant isn't struggling business wise and maybe just a slow day with a broken heater. Times are tough support a small locally owned business wish I snagged a photo of the food, but I'll be back soon.“
“Ordered take out, dinner platter. Huge potions, fresh hot and piping food, service with a smile. The Schezwan Chicken and General Tso's were tasty, Kung Pao had a lot of veggies and was saucy in a good way. Came with chicken fried rice which was flavorful and crispy large sized spring rolls - both included in the dinner platter. Definitely a place to frequent.“
“we wanted to skip the crowds on lunar new years, and sampan cafe alexandria came highly recommended by my younger sibling. very uncomplicated good food, especially during a time where dim sum spots in va are declining or experiencing price inflation. this was probably the most affordable, and the quality was excellent -- almost everything was cooked perfectly. leftovers tasted super good in the air fryer too.“
“Food was fresh, not too salty or saturated with sauce, which is how I like it. Customer service was good over the phone and in person. The kitchen was not overly cluttered with stuff and it looked clean. I will be going back. I got to see how they cook their general tso chicken. I hope it has more chicken inside and less batter.“
“I was thinking about getting sushi and this place came up in my search. The sushi was good. I went with two options that I knew couldn't get messed up. Shrimp tempura and a sweet potato roll. Both rolls were filling. The shrimp and veggie tempura appetizer was just flat. I think it's because it's just tempura and no seasoning on the veggies or shrimp so the taste is Just bland.“
“placed an order online & the food was ready in about 15 mins. the guy that was working that night was friendly. the steak & cheese egg rolls were okay but a little dry. they would be perfect if they came with some kind of sauce to dip them in. the orange chicken was flavorful. the crab rangoons & shrimp fried rice were 10/10. i would definitely order from here again.“
“Ok now this is the greatest Chinese restaurant in the DMV area. I have lived in the DMV pretty much my entire life & have eaten at dozens of Chinese restaurants and I still say that Jacky Chans is the best. Been coming to this spot almost 20 years now & it is STILL top notch. The French Fries alone will tell you about the quality of food here. Make sure you get the chicken wings with french fries and add salt pepper & mumbo sauce on everything. This is the classic that everyone should start out with. A few of the other amazing things on the menu consists of Chicken Sandwich Jumbo Cheeseburger with bacon Steak & Cheese 10 piece nuggets General Tsos Chicken Beef & Broccoli & Hunan Shrimp Best Chinese restaurant, don't forget it“
“Food was not bad for a buffet. Sweet tea tastes amazing! I'm not sure when they ever serve snow crab legs or blue crabs, even though pictures of both of them are on the outside of the windows to the establishment. They do tend to have the fried have crabs which are not bad. For an adult+drink is about $20.“
“Ok firstly our pickup order did take an hour to be prepared but it was so good. The crab Rangoons were filled and crunchy! The Singapore noodles and general tso had great flavor. I was so impressed. You can tell it's a hard working family that runs this place“
“Decent old school American Chinese place with good food, wven with the nice hot green tea and real mustard paste! We came in late but were still served quickly and food made to order. Only complaint was Ko Pao chicken was mild and no chilis.“
“Delicious wings. Came here twice. I ordered the honey j*** and honey lemon pepper wings which are delicious. I also ordered the fried rice. It tastes like Spanish rice in a box and it isn't that great. On my second visit, I played it safe and ordered fries. Very satisfied. This place is much better than America's Best Wings next door in both quality and taste.“
“I can't believe I've never reviewed this place as long as I've been getting my wings here. Real deal seasoned chicken wings... I know, from a carryout....but hey.*shrugs* Annnnnd they share a wall with a laundromat which further lessons expectations lol. In fairness, I think they own the laundromat too if I'm not mistaken. They sure got the WANGZ tho! Not sure why their wings are always slightly bigger than everybody else's but they got them here too. Oversized wings aren't unique to such carryouts though. They got the right tasting dark reddish orange colored mumbo sauce with the proper viscosity too, whereas quite a few places give you that overly sticky orange concoction that looks like duck sauce meets glue and tastes all wrong and is just exceedingly sweet. Eddie's mumbo is the right mix of sweet/tangy 'n heat. They actually changed it to that sweet orange stuff for a while and people complained (me too, I'm people) so much they changed back. They said their wholesaler stopped shipping. Apparently they found another option because I stopped going during that time period in protest. I get steak and cheese from here too and occasionally fish subs sometimes, but mostly wings because believe it or not I think they have the best ones in the area aside from the Amish Markets and if you're not interested in fast food like Popeyes or Royal Farms....or KFC hot wings. Those are good too. Pieces though, not whole wings. My in-laws used to send me for Eddies whenever they were in town visiting from the Caribbean. The wings are moist and tender with that inescapable steam burst that envelopes your senses when you crack open those first couple. Never overwhelmingly encrusted in breading or fried too hard...or underfried to an annoying mush where you can see the bumpy "chicken skin" look of feather removal. *gasps* Nope, not Eddie's. Never tiny, weird or broken or knarled little strange poultry wingding products so many places sell, but rather, always perfect, meaty, wonderfully seasoned and organized neatly in a styrofoam to-go box. Fried crisp and never too dry. I normally get my mumbo squeezed atop the wings before bagged so that it has a chance to soak in before I get to my destination. I then get a large cup on the side for dipping emergencies. Fu Jhin, aka "Rikki" with the BIG enthusiastic personality, normally works counter and playfully opens the conversation after hello with a simple, "how many wings?", whenever I call since she knows my voice (and likely has caller ID too). She knows I rarely order anything else and have ordered as many as 75 wings at a time. That's a lotta bird. Even asked me one time, "where you been?", after an extended wingless absence, lol. She's a hoot. Apologies for taking this long to tell you guys about these wings (surprisingly I don't even have pics of them in my phone which is rare) but I'll post pics next time I go for some. Get you some. Oh, and the fries are those frozen crinkly cuts which are pretty unremarkable in most settings usually. When I get them I normally have salt/pepper shaken then generous ketchup squeezed atop the hot fries just before she closes the container. The steam created inside makes the fries super moist by the time I get home....where I add my hot sauce to the menagerie. The fries make an awesome wing-man for this bird. (see what I did there). They even warm up well this way, where frozen fries seldom do. PS- They take credit cards but won't post signage and keep the machine hidden behind the counter since apparently they're not into credit card fees and prefer cash. You have to ask to use a card. Parking is usually ample and on site, but can become challenging with the laundromat folks next door sometimes especially on weekends, when people tend to do laundry.“
“Good customer service. Good carryout. I got basic wings & fries with mumbo sauce and ketchup! It was good. I was satisfied. Also got beef and broccoli was told it was good! I'll be back to try something else. I'll keep y'all posted!?Parking isn't bad. You have options.“
“Amongst the best egg rolls in the area. While the General Tso's Chicken was good, there was nothing "hot and spicy" about it. Either I'll refry it with some red pepper flakes or try the kung pao chicken next.Parking: Dumb shared lot with other businesses“
“I ordered hot n sour soup and chicken pad thai. The soup was delicious and had ingredients I had never tasted before, perfect 10 for the soup. The chicken pad Thai was awesome except for tiny egg shell pieces ruining the experience.Overall, it is a great place to order Chinese food. Updare: Tried chicken egg foo young today for the first time, and I liked it (4/5).“
“I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!The food is so fresh and the staff are so nice, it's a great place and you should check it out if you haven't already. One of my favorite item is the steak and cheese it's something I would die for!!!!!“
“Our two servers were delightful. Very sweet ladies, Jenny was one of them, and the food was delicious. Expensive but very good. I enjoyed it here, the mochi ice cream was different but fun and interesting. I recommend... just be prepared for the bill.. but it's worth “
“I enjoy coming to this restaurant for my Asian food. However, the area that it’s in is terrible. They have homeless people and drug attic‘s that hang out all the time and there’s a liquor store in the same shopping center so there’s always a ton of drunks running in and out of the building. There’s also a 7-Eleven in the same shopping center that is a hotbed for homeless people. Sometimes I prefer not to have to deal with these vagrants.“
“Best General tsos chicken in southern Maryland right here. Chicken fried rice was on point as well. The general tsos chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the fried rice was flavorful and satisfying. I highly recommend trying it if you're a fan of delicious and well-prepared Chinese food.“
