“One of our favorite places to get Bulgolgi. We come regularly. Love the food. 4 Stars instead of 5 bc the woman who is usually the cashier and takes orders over the phone is never friendly. She can be quite rude and occasionally is just ok. Never nice. Besides her we love the place and have enjoyed the other staff.“

“Crispy shredded beef and Kung Pao chicken were tasty. General Tso's shrimp had so much breading on it that I had a hard time finding the shrimp. I would not recommend this dish unless you mostly want fried bread. I asked for medium spicy and the dishes were mild. The portions were very generous as we have left overs. The delivery from the time I ordered took a total of 55 minutes. I like supporting local business and will try other dishes from them.“

I have to say that it is definitely a lot more tasty than many other Chinese restaurants in the area. The veggies are not frozen or canned, there was real freshness to them. “We visited this place for first time. We came from Chicago’s suburbs and we picked this place. It is a very clean restaurant. Miss. Domi was a very friendly lady who took our order. We met the owner and he was very pleasant gentleman. The food was good and prices reasonable. I don’t give a 5 stars only because the eggs rolls had strong pork flavor. Everything very fresh and clean. I would recommend it without doubts.“

The outstanding customer service I received at Golden Restaurant truly deserves to be highlighted. On an especially hot day, I walked in and was immediately offered a cold bottled water—completely free of charge. It was such a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the rest of my visit.

When I called ahead to place an order for shrimp fried rice with customization (no msg, light on the soy sauce, very little oil), they listened intently and even repeated my requests so I can verify. Lo and behold, they delivered exactly what I asked for—the dish was cooked perfectly to my liking!

It’s rare these days, especially at a mostly pick-up-style restaurant, to find staff who are not only helpful but genuinely considerate and accommodating. “My family’s been coming to Empire for the last 20 years, even after we moved 30 min away, this is still our primary Chinese takeout spot. My biggest mistake was not leaving this review sooner. Food is always great, incredibly quick. Sure, prices have gone up but food cost doesn’t just affect consumers, it affects businesses too, so while not ideal, I get it. Yesterday, my buddy and I ordered some food for carry out on our way out of his storage unit. Come to find out, if you don’t leave by 9pm, they lock you in, literally. I called Empire back to tell them of the situation, and without hesitation, they offered to bring our food to us at the storage unit despite being 5 minutes to closing by the time we figured out that the police officer’s code wasn’t going to work (we thought we were gonna have to stay the night). Not only that, when he realized our situation, he went back out to a gas station to get us utensils to eat our food there *and* got us 2 drinks. We ended up getting out very shortly after, but it really stuck in my head that this is one of the nicest things a complete stranger has done for me. I didn’t need any other reason to keep coming to Empire, but this validates my love for this place and the people that run it. The best part is the food was still warm when we made it back home. “This has become my go to place for Chinese delivery. Today, not feeling well, I wanted some soup and some spice. I ordered egg drop soup, lunch specials kung pao shrimp and orange chicken, and some wings. I LOVE their wings (as someone who doesn't eat fried wings often). I want to know if the sauce with them is made or bought and want to learn how to make it. So good I almost always add them to my order now. And whether a veggie or a meat egg roll, these are good and not too greasy. I've not had a bad item that I have ordered yet. I don't like onions and requested spicy today, and I received a call from the restaurant to confirm exactly what I wanted. They always follow my online directions well if I request less oil, white rice instead of fried, etc. First time with the soup today and that was good. Savored my veggie egg roll. First time also ordering the kung pao, and I don't usually love the typical veggies served with kung pao, but I was pleasantly surprised that chopped broccoli was the base vegetable, which I LOVE. Delicious! The orange chicken is great too. They are very kind and delivery is speedy. I think the portions are pretty generous, and the lunch specials are a great deal. Highly recommend!“

Spring rolls were good and crispy, though not your traditional flavor you expect.

Beef chow fun and sweet and sour chicken were both good as well. The chicken was high quality, cooked well, and there was a good meat to breading ratio.

The crab rangoon was good and plentiful, though not a hint of crab flavor was detected. Not enough of an issue to not order it again.

Overall, we will be back as it was the best fast Chinese we had had around here in the past several years.“

Secondly the food. It was VERY GOOD! The Vegetable Spring Roll(or Vegetarian Spring Roll as they call it) was absolutely the BEST I've ever had in my life! I know it seems like a small thing but it, for me is a favorite. It was the same size as the Eggroll and filled with your standard delicious ingredients. It was perfectly crispy and I cannot wait to get more! I have a feeling I will be coming to get these as a little snack way more than I should!

I also got a small Wonton Soup and boy let me tell you that DEFINITELY hit the spot! My mom used to get it EVERY time we got Chinese food when I was a kid so there is a lot of nostalgia in it for me, but I had HIGH expectations because I haven't hardly had it but maybe a handful of times since I was a kid. This met & possibly exceeded my expectations! The broth was PERFECT!

Even the White Rice seemed fresher & tastier than other places!

“Szechuan Delight has maintained over 30 years of consistent good food, unchanged great taste, quick customer service. I was living off beauregard st. behind the old shoppers in 1995 and working at my first job at arby's when I discovered Szechuan Delight. There were always very affordable and quick.. Items used to be around 5.95 or $6.95.. They have excellent lomein, hunan and szechuan dishes. However what is very unique to that restaurant is their Chicken & Hot Garlic dish. In course of time, after college, I moved to maryland, then florida, followed by long stay in europe. I have never found anything close that their chicken & hot garlic sauce dish.. Every chance I get to visit virginia, perhaps every few years, I try to stop at szechuan delight for that dish and even after 30 years, it still tastes exactly the same. I've looked up thousands of instructions and could never replicate it.. I hope my next visit, the chef might allow me to learn how to make that dish, so I can enjoy it while living in europe.“
