“Hands down the best Chinese food in the area. Love their general tsos, sesame chicken, lo mein, and dumplings. The chicken is always good quality white meat, none of that sketchy stuff a lot of Chinese restaurants serve. We’ve only ever done uber eats but it always comes quick and piping hot.“

We really enjoy Hunan Cafe in Burke. Their crispy beef is a favorite of mine, and we always order the crab rangoons and Singapore rice noodles—everything is consistently delicious. My husband especially loves their Kung Pao Chicken.

Jenny at the front is always friendly and kind, which makes the experience even better. The indoor dining area is clean, with comfortable chairs, and I really appreciate that they bring your food out on actual plates instead of styrofoam. That extra touch makes dining in feel so much nicer.

“I wanted to try at least 3 times before I gave a rating. Customer service is consistent all the time, no matter what time of day. The combination fried rice tastes delicious. I get the chicken wings also, fried to perfection. I always ask for extra spicy and they usually deliver. My new favorite Chinese restaurant. I haven’t been able to find a good Chinese restaurant since moving from MD to VA, but this place is phenomenal. It’s clean and I love the interior. I do still need to try other options, but this is based off my regular.“

I'd say it's a solid choice if you're nearby or looking for authentic Chinese food in Vienna. While it's not the best Chinese food I've ever had, every dish we ordered was good and the overall meal was enjoyable.

That said, with so many great Chinese restaurants closer to where I live, I probably wouldn't drive all the way to Vienna to have Chef Tan unless I happened to be in the area and is craving Chinese food.“

“I love getting food from here. Even when I am not shopping in Ranch 99 I would go there to get food and grab some groceries while waiting.

The owner is nice and the whole operation is very clean. I’d say it’s cleaner than 95% of the restaurants out there. The owner is one of those “OCD” types lol. When you tell him how much you want for the dry pot (by weight) he would get to that weight to the exact decimal point. I sometimes would tell him it’s ok to miss a bit I am just giving you an estimate. Also he is happy to cater your preference. I love lots of veggies in mine so I’d ask him to put more veggies than meat. He’d gladly to do anything like that.

It’s spicy but I never felt it’s too greasy and the flavor is great! It’s not just done with a sauce pack. You can see fresh garlic pieces in there too.

Definitely a hidden gem. Better than a typical vendor in a Chinese grocery store. I wish all Chinese restaurants can be run with this caliber.“

It was different - not as bold - from my usual prefer spot in Fair Oak Mall, which closed after Covid. We also tried the beef stripe and had mixed feelings. It wasn't all stripes but mixed with marinated beef, and the dish was good. It just that we preferred all stripes. Our waitress was very helpful and sincere. Good experience. I ordered the chicken lo mein, shrimp and broccoli, and shrimp fried rice, and everything was fresh and delicious. The portions were also really good!

“My family’s been coming to Empire for the last 20 years, even after we moved 30 min away, this is still our primary Chinese takeout spot. My biggest mistake was not leaving this review sooner. Food is always great, incredibly quick. Sure, prices have gone up but food cost doesn’t just affect consumers, it affects businesses too, so while not ideal, I get it. Yesterday, my buddy and I ordered some food for carry out on our way out of his storage unit. Come to find out, if you don’t leave by 9pm, they lock you in, literally. I called Empire back to tell them of the situation, and without hesitation, they offered to bring our food to us at the storage unit despite being 5 minutes to closing by the time we figured out that the police officer’s code wasn’t going to work (we thought we were gonna have to stay the night). Not only that, when he realized our situation, he went back out to a gas station to get us utensils to eat our food there *and* got us 2 drinks. We ended up getting out very shortly after, but it really stuck in my head that this is one of the nicest things a complete stranger has done for me. I didn’t need any other reason to keep coming to Empire, but this validates my love for this place and the people that run it. The best part is the food was still warm when we made it back home. “Grand Hunan is a local gem located in the Westover community. I tried a variety of their foods and have always been consistently satisfying. The owner is this local small business is customer friendly and super generous in their portion and always trying to please every order in a personal way. They always tried to accommodate any dietary restriction in addition to their healthy items in their menu. They even catering of any size with generous portion and reasonable price. Highly recommend everyone to give it a try as you won't regret it!“

“This has become my go to place for Chinese delivery. Today, not feeling well, I wanted some soup and some spice. I ordered egg drop soup, lunch specials kung pao shrimp and orange chicken, and some wings. I LOVE their wings (as someone who doesn't eat fried wings often). I want to know if the sauce with them is made or bought and want to learn how to make it. So good I almost always add them to my order now. And whether a veggie or a meat egg roll, these are good and not too greasy. I've not had a bad item that I have ordered yet. I don't like onions and requested spicy today, and I received a call from the restaurant to confirm exactly what I wanted. They always follow my online directions well if I request less oil, white rice instead of fried, etc. First time with the soup today and that was good. Savored my veggie egg roll. First time also ordering the kung pao, and I don't usually love the typical veggies served with kung pao, but I was pleasantly surprised that chopped broccoli was the base vegetable, which I LOVE. “Cool concept it’s like +6 kitchens in 1. They offer a lot of different promos on social media. From Alana pizza, I ordered the burrata and the bacon pesto pizza. The burrata was really fresh and I enjoyed the pesto pizza. From Di Fara pizza, I ordered the pepperoni, sausage and meatball pizza. Not sure if it was dough or the pizza was undercooked, but I wish there was more of a crisp to the crust. I found myself chewing longer than expected.

Location was really clean and ordering via the app was easy. There’s plenty of street parking around the shopping center. Prices are high for the area. I would definitely be back to try some of the other restaurants.“
