“Jacob, Fairie, and I went to Smyrna tonight and it was exceptional. Our server, David was welcoming, attentive, and down to earth. He knows a good bit about Cville music history which was a plus for us! Orhun is also a music lover and is the reason we had to check out this amazing spot. Everything we had was great and full of flavor that would include the Meze Trio, the Charred Octopus , the Market Greens and even the carrots were outstanding. Don’t sleep on this gem, Cville.”

“Highly recommend this restaurant! The house salad was the best salad I’d ever had. The cocktails are wonderful; the tender even accommodated my special request. The entrees were sumptuous; we got the Italian sausage pasta and the salmon. We travel through Charlottesville twice a year and dine here on our way up and back each year. It’s my favorite part of our trip. Service is excellent.”

The food is delicious, fresh, flavorful, local, from scratch, incredible wings, smash burger, etc… kale salad hello why is kale salad so good like craveworthy…the food goes well with the beer (which is also really amazing) and service was on point. Love the Czech beers. Tatum was really great bartender really attentive and personable as were the rest of the staff. He made sure we had what we needed and made good recs. We have only been here a couple times but after tonight will make a point to come here more often. Also really appreciate the TVs at the bar and the power outlets below. Very nice!”

“We have lived in Charlottesville for 7 years. While we have only eaten at Petit Pois 4 times, it was the first restaurant we at at when we came up to initially look for places to live and it was the most recent place we have dine out, last night for NYE. It is small and cramped. They can't do anything about that. The service has always been top notch, warm, hospitable, engaging and friendly without being over the top. While nothing we have ever eaten there has been memorable; that isn't a slight. Everything has always been good and of the value that we have paid. A place like this with its' price point need to make good food that is better than what I can do at home and better than a chain or corporate "faux" bistro. Along with the good food and the exceptional service they always hit the mark. Last night was the 2nd time we have come in for a New Years Eve meal. We live within walking distance to the downtown mall and we aren't party animals so we typically don't make NYE reservations and just walk down to the strip and see if we can saddle up at a bar somewhere. Last week my fiancee mentioned that this year she would like to make reservations and go out. I searched everywhere in Charlottesville and the surrounding area and all reservations were booked up. Bummer. So, we decided to do our regular routine, put on decent clothes and walk and see if we could slide in somewhere----our first choice as Petit Pois. We go there and talked to the host to see if there was anything possible available, knowing the probability was low and we were OK with that. The host checked, talked to his folks, came out and showed us to a table. Yes, it was small and it was cramped but THEY MADE IT HAPPEN FOR US. Everything was what we expected. The food was good, the service as great, and the price was reasonable, and we had a nice meal and got home in time to watch the ball drop. Thanks Petit Pois. We will see you next New Years.”

“Over the course of the last month or so we have been there three times. We highly recommend this restaurant and have yet to have a bad experience. Contrary to the negative reviews on here I cannot say that we have experience anything stated. All of our food has come out with great presentation and very tasty. The wait staff has always been very attentive however, I will say they are challenged at times due to the amount of staff that they have versus the amount of tables that they serve. Taking that into consideration, our food has always come out in a reasonable amount of time, has always been to temp and we have had no complaints about the food or service at any point. I will stay that people have to be mindful. This is not fast food. The food at this restaurant is made to order and they offer specials every week so if you’re looking for something more immediate, this is definitely not the restaurant for you however, if you’re looking for a well crafted meal then this definitely is a place for you. I would recommend going on their date night for a great deal.”

Was only in town for a day really- but glad we chose witch lab for one of our meals- only wish we had been in town longer to try out the whole menu.”

“I had never had Afghani food until I came here and wow it was amazing🥹
I wish I sat in instead of taken it to go because it was a wonderful atmosphere, I'll be back! Wonderful service and insight, very helpful staff. You can grab from the food bar or order something right from the fire! The chicken kabob dish with rice is seasoned perfectly and they gave me some special chickpeas with a delicious sweet marinade (I provided photos) !!!! 15 minutes free parking nearby and paid parking right in front of the restaurant not sure how much it costs. Food only costed me $20 and they are generous with portion and pack the to go box good for you so it doesn't make a mess in your car. It was so good, the tastes were truly to savor. I had to call up the restaurant just to say how thankful I was🫵❤️”
