“We recently moved here from Falls Church and have been struggling to find a Chinese spot that actually measures up—until now. I placed a takeout order for the Hunan Chicken lunch special and was honestly blown away.

Even after the drive home, the food was piping hot and the quality was top-tier. The veggies had that perfect fresh crunch and weren't soggy at all. Most takeout in the area can be a bit bland, but the seasoning and spice level here were exactly what I’ve been looking for.

The shop has a great family-run vibe; I’m pretty sure the owner herself took my order when I walked in, and he was incredibly friendly. The value is also insane. My lunch special came with fried or white rice and a spring roll for under $10, which is a great value.

We did ourselves (and them) a favor and payed with cash. In a world of rising prices, it’s one way to support local businesses like this one so they don’t get eaten up by credit card fees. Let’s help them keep these amazing $10 lunch deals alive!“

“I have been coming here since we moved to VA back in the early 2000's. For a while I stopped eating here due to covid and health issues, but I'm so glad I started again! They have the best lo mein in the area and their egg rolls are always crispy. They are the reason I fell in love with chicken corn soup and General Tso's. I absolutely love this place and hope they stay open for another 20+ years!“

“For non-Asian, American/Asian cooking, their food is always tasty, usually served hot (at least at a holding temp), and one of the best values. For $13 the portion was huge, we shared it and left with a solid 5-6 oz leftover to take home. Beijing beef with lo-mein, fairly crispy beef, lots of veg, and not drowning in sauce. Above average egg rolls to boot. Best fast food value out there. Staff and store, at this location, were superb.“

“Hunan cafe shares really good cuisine. They have options for everyone from spice tolerance and flavor preference; their Mangolian beef especially is worth 10 stars alone! Their staff are kind and treat you just as sweet as their crab Rangoon?“

“I came in and wanted to make sure that my to go order wouldn’t spill out in my back pack as I was riding an Ebike. I enjoyed so much interacting with the employees. There was a little bit of language misunderstanding but I was able to communicate and it turned out perfectly when I got home.

“We only did carry out, do a limited review. The one staff person we met might was quite pleasant. She had an accent, yet her english was perfect.
Food was ready quickly, as my brother ordered and we picked it up on the way there.
Excellent food. Nothing short of excellent. One detail in point was the fried 'soup noodle' in a wax paper package. No hint of oil on the bag, my fingers, or the flavor.
I just wish it weren't quite so remote to where we were while visiting.“

“I ordered over the phone then went to the wrong Chinese take out. 🤦‍♀️ We finally get to the right place 25 minutes late but everyone was kind and they even gave me $2 off my order because they didn’t understand about me asking about a children’s size portion (which they do not have.) I told them there was no need to give me a discount, but they did anyway. 😊

We get home and amazingly enough our food was still hot! 👍 I thought the moo goo gai pan was pretty good, my daughter liked her Lo mein, but my husband thought the General Tso Chicken was just ok.

While my husband thought the food was just ok, I’m bumping my rating from 4 to 5 stars because of the customer service.“

“Food has always been great here today there was a snafu with our order. Had to go back to the restaurant after arriving at home. But the manager took care to get the order corrected. Without any anger or animosity toward me he managed to get I got everything corrected within a timely manner. And I guess sometimes I do need to check the bag.“

“We've been frequenting this place for quite some time now, and whenever we visit, the food is always consistently delicious. We generally prefer to dine in, and it's fantastic to see the renovations they've done, particularly including the improvements to the restrooms.

Our go to dishes have been: sesame chicken, vegetable lo mein, hot and sour soup, fried + white rice, crab rangoon.“

“Food was decent. 7.5/10. Beef with broccoli could have been seasoned a bit more, with onion, garlic, or salt, but all in all it was decently well prepared and tasty. Nothing wrong with it at all. Portions were very plentiful and fair for the price paid.“
