“Professionally: I found this establishment on a chance. But once I entered it was a complete vibe. Owners are genuinely nice & treats everyone with dignity & respect. Place makes you feel like you're welcomed home. Servers at this point remember my drink order and you can't forget about mama. I started off saying professionally, but this place really is like a family. Not to mention the food is banging. You gotta try mama Lo's seafood salad. I'm from bmore and its my starter!!
Personally: I don't honestly know or think they know what the owners have done for me or given me. I've always loved music, but have never been confident in myself. But these ladies have taken a chance on me time & time again. Them believing in me had made me believe myself. The amount of love they show, the amount of care they give, & the amount of believe they have has made me a better singer & person all around. So I truly truly thank them. I'm honored to be apart of your extended family.“
“We had such a great time at trivia night at Väsen. The questions were actually fun and well thought out, probably some of the best trivia we’ve played in terms of variety and challenge. This spot is also my husband’s favorite for non-alcoholic options, which means a lot since he doesn’t drink. It’s one of the few places where he still feels totally included in the vibe while we’re out having fun. Great beer and great energy.“

“We catered a welcome dinner for our wedding for 90 guests through Jalapenos in Carytown. The event was at a local brewery. We ordered a wide variety of items including tortillas, fajitas, steak, chicken, rice, quesadillas, dip, and other items. All the food was extremely fresh and tasty, with great portions! It came right on time, and was set up perfectly! We received so many compliments on all the food, and people kept going back for seconds. Carlos and his team were such a pleasure to work with, and cared so much about the success of our event. We could not recommend them enough.“

“Solid cheese steak hoagie. Love the sesame roll. We ate at the bar, I enjoyed a crisp topochico, while my partner had a hazy IPA. We split the cheese steak hoagie (minus pickled peps). Classic fries and delicious potato salad. Looking forward to coming back and trying the tomato pie.“

“An easy 5/5 stars. The food is immaculate, and quite honestly incomparable. In my opinion, I think it’s the best restaurant in VA! Every menu option of food is good, and the drinks are great. The volcano drink is a staple and very unique! Mekong is a must go-to stop when stopping in the Richmond area!“

“I couldn’t wait to review this meal! I didn’t take a picture but the salad was phenomenal. I got the chopped salad with a couple modifications and added the tarragon chicken salad. The house dressing is fantastic! This is one of my favorite salads of all time, I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the Richmond area!“

“Fast friendly service! Accommodating by meeting pizza request…I wanted half and half with 2 different specialty toppings. Drinks were good and loved the spiced honey dip for the cheese curds!“
