“My family has been coming to Guapo's for years and I can say with honesty that we've never had a bad meal here. The drink portions are generous,the food cooked with skill and thoroughly seasoned and rich with flavor. The interior decor, filled with massive chandeliers resembling ship steering wheels, murals, and ceilings painted to resemble a blue sky decked with fluffy white clouds, is colorful and eye-catching. The main dining room can get loud during evenings, particularly Friday and Saturday nights, and this can make conversing difficult unless one is willing to shout. But the quality of the dining experience, occasional live music, and fun atmosphere more than make up for this. We look forward to continuing to enjoy dining here.“

“i really like the vibes here and the atmosphere is super fun and vibrant! it's also beautifully designed and i love all the different areas so it's perfect for diff size groups or diff seating spaces. i also love the upstairs area, even though it's not meant for this purpose, i really like it for pictures because it's very cute and also when it's not serving anybody it's good to take pics there because you're not in anybody's way or disturbing anybody which is helpful. as someone who likes to take pics when they're out i definitely noticed this and appreciated it again even though that's not what it's for. the food is also so good and as a mexican it's really hard esp in this area to find mexican food that tastes pretty authentic but i have to say this def lived up to the standards i have from growing up eating mexican classics. only thing i didn't like was the smores, just didn't meet the mark for me they were cool conceptually but just not tasty to be honest but definitely a cool idea. everything else is great but i do wish they had more drink options esp for non alcohol drinkers like me who still wanna be able to have a virgin marg or mojito with a cool flavor. but for a new spot they have great options. what i really came on here for is to leave a review for the best server i've had at ometeo this far, jose m. he was so kind and inviting and truly made my family and i feel welcomed. the past couple times i have come, the servers i have had have been kind of rude and unhappy or not attentive. i was really scared to bring my mexican mom and mother in law here because i wasn't sure if the food and atmosphere would make up for the service which is arguably the most important, but luckily thanks to jose, i didn't have to worry. he was so helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable as well. i hope to see him soon and to sit in his section next time i come! he definitely made this experience fun, and really turned my opinion of this place around!“

“This place is kind of small hole in the wall. Seats about 14 or so outside and not many more people inside. Nice menu that's not too large or too small. Some Tex-Mex menus have way too many choices. The starter tortilla chips and salsa were top notch. Service all around was excellent. I had the Chicken Chimichanga and it was one of the best I've ever had. It came with rice and refried beans as well as pico, sour cream, guacamole, and lettuce. Everything was delicious, cooked perfectly, and reasonably priced. The presentation was great as well Can't wait to come back.“

“I am a usual. I typically order for pick up when I don’t want to cook and or weekends. Mostly have a great experience and food is very inexpensive which is a plus. I do have 1 complaint, about 2 weeks ago I ordered the soap de res and I got food poisoning which was sad. I was out of commission for 2 whole days had to call out of work. Since then I haven’t ordered. I don’t want to give y’all a terrible review since this was my first terrible experience throughout the years I’ve gone but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET IT TOGETHER AGAIN. other than that food is typically great. Flan use to be phenomenal too but recently it’s been burnt a few times. Carne Asada phew it’s bomb!“

From the moment I stepped up to the register, Dora greeted me with a warm and friendly smile. Her welcoming demeanor set the tone for a great experience.

But that was just the beginning. Dora continued to impress with her exceptional service, bringing my food to me and checking in later to see if I needed anything else. When I mentioned I was taking my food to go, she even brought everything I needed to pack up my meal and salsa. I got the pick 2 fajitas with steak and shrimp, an extra side of carntas with a small chips and queso, which was very tasty and a nice sized portion. I'll definitely be eating the rest for lunch tomorrow!

I had the pleasure of indulging in the chicken flautas and chicken empanadas with red sauce and coleslaw and let me tell you it was a flavor explosion ? The Chicken Flautas were perfectly crispy on the outside yet tender and juicy on the inside with just the right amount of seasoning to tantalize your taste buds and the Chicken Empanadas pure comfort food heaven. The cornmeal hot pocket was stuffed to the brim with savory chicken and potatoes and paired perfectly with the tangy red sauce and refreshing coleslaw. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving me craving more. Emily's is definitely a must visit for anyone craving delicious, authentic Central American cuisine in Herndon. “I placed a call in order for pick up. Two chicken enchiladas.. came with rice beans, pico, guac and sour cream. Also got queso and chips and an horchata. The horchata was very good!! All the food was great except I wasn't a fan of the rice.. didn't taste like normal Mexican restaurant rice.. it tasted like the Knorr Spanish rice, which if you've ever had that before, it tastes very plain. The food was hot and ready and the girl who helped was friendly. I was searching all Mexican restaurants in the area and this one had the best prices as well.“

I think I was the first customer and I bought a tri tip, an excellent cut of beef not carried by the local supermarkets. The restaurant portion of the store makes everything fresh to order, including the tortillas.“

They offer quite the variety of foods plus a lot of beer too.

The people there were very friendly, and happy to converse with (and figure out what food to pick haha).

I ended up getting the Indian Hen Soup. A simple but warm and pleasant soup with three huge pieces of chicken on the side. The portions are very generous, do expect to leave some for tomorrow!“

“I love California Tortilla and this place didn't disappoint! The steak fajita burrito was delicious. The Coke from the machine was off, but I'll chock it up to a mistake. Someone probably put the wrong bag in the regular spot, it tasted like cherry. The sauce wall has some pretty amazing sauces and to-go containers. Will definitely be back!“
