“My partner and I are fans for some baleadas for breakfast and wanted to try this place as it was closer to our home. Price is reasonable and portions are generous. However the tortilla on these baleadas are really bready and might leave you with some stomach pain. Also the baleadas don't include avocado either, whereas other places typically do. The staff was friendly and nice, so may try another food option soon, just not baleadas.“
“Walked in for a laid back dinner after finishing an escape room down the plaza - definitely glad we did! Lots of delicious looking options on the menu, and I opted for the carne asada plate, which had a generous portion of grilled steak, rice, and salad. Good flavor on the steak and rice, and I enjoyed the large cut cucumber, tomato, and avocado for the salad. The plate also came with some corn tortillas, which were great and good for leftovers. My gf got a couple of pupusas (they're huge!), which were flavorful with the cheese and accompanying broth and pickled vegetables. Definitely would come back here again for a nice bite of El Salvadorean food.“
“Went here on a whim. The food was so amazing!Heads up: the low ratings from other reviews are because the staff doesn’t speak English or because someone ordered the cheese burger. This is AUTHENTIC food… if you are looking for a cheese burger this is not the place. I will be going back for the tacos and to try other authentic menu items.“
“I've ordered out here several times as they are open late. The food is fantastic- Salvadoran style "Mexican." It reminds me of my favorite resteraunt growing up. Salsa is a 10/10, refried beans are a 10/10, everything else is also great.“
“Yesterday, Monday, I visited Mrs. Azucena... it had been a while since my family stopped visiting due to the bad service from the waitresses... I decided to order takeout since I asked the green-eyed cashier... short girl says hello to me, how?? How can I help you? Kindly, good attitude, good service. It shows that the girl is prepared to serve clients. Workers like them must serve at the table“
“Sorry I do not have any photos to include, once I opened the lid to my to-go meal I was on beast mode foaming at the mouth. The spread was incredible to say the least, visuals alone. The carne asada was savory, seasoned perfectly, portioned very generously, and was a great cut of meat. Other places seem to serve gristly chewy meat but this was far far from that. 10/10. Very authentic. I will be back :) Nice staff - do not let the location throw you off. I grew up in this neighborhood and it really isn't a bad place at all. Nice community“
“This place is a wonderful hole in the wall spot. The food here is freshly made and served hot. The pupusas are filled with delicious cheese and are not greasy. The tacos are made with handmade tortillas and server on plates that hold the tacos in shape! The meat in the tacos is flavorful and juicy.“
“I’m in charge of catering for a large group of friends. We do events very often. We try different countries food. This time we chose Mexican food. I found this small restaurant with majestic, original, typical taste. It was a general consensus that the food was amazing. Everyone ate more than one plate. Thank you to the owner, Ms. Veronica for not only providing quality food but additional quantity. We are very happy and appreciative for that gesture I’m sure we will be making future business with her! I 100% recommend this place for all your catering needs.“
“Amazing pupusas! Some of the best I have ever had. They have the perfect amount of filling to tortilla ratio. Most places will put way too much inside and it leaves the pupusas quickly becoming soggy. Simple setup inside, nothing fancy, not nice in reality. But that's not what a food establishment's top priority should be. It's the food. Definitely will become one of my regular spots.“
“This Pupusas Express is one of my go-to dine in spots in Herndon. The team here is always attentive at helping out. The wings are super crispy and well seasoned without additional sauce. The plantains are always served ripe with a side of beans and crema. The pupusas here are filled with your filling of choice and never greasy. Would recommend“
