“Highly recommend!! Been coming to China House since I moved to Virginia from New York. From all the Chinese food I've tasted here, this is the closest to the New York taste. It's like I'm back home! The food and prices are great!

“Don’t go anywhere else! This is the best Chinese in this area! They only took over the restaurant a little while ago.
And on top of all the choices, they make their own Peking duck, home made! Just call ahead of time because they only offer it once in a while of course since they make it from scratch.
The service is top notch, the owner Ms Dan has the most wonderful smile and makes you feel so welcome. Good customer service is so rare nowadays!
It is a family business I found out, Ms Dan runs the front and her husband the kitchen. That’s why I trust the food and wish them all the success they deserve.
I think I have tried most of their dishes so far and they are all wonderful!

“I order lunch from here frequently because it is right next to my office building. They have the best Hot and Sour Soup I've found in the area. Steamed rice is super fluffy and no overcooked. Crab Rangoon is delicious! Delivery is super quick, too. Definitely recommend!

“Was at the gas station and decided to place our order online for pickup. Drove over to Hong Kong and waited in their seating area for our order (I hadn't given them enough time between order and pickup).

The seating area was fine for casual dining, but I was taking the order home for the family. I can easily see dining in.

They delivered my food wrapped up tight and ready to go. We had chicken curry, sweet-n-sour chicken, combination lo mein, and steamed dumplings. The dumplings were a little more doughy than we are used to, but all of the other food was tasty. We will be ordering again from them.

“Wow!! I ordered the Pu Pu platter, Kung Pau Four Seasons, Szechuan String Beans, Fried rice Combo, and Chicken Vegetable Soup. I asked for extra ginger to be added to soup because my wife wasn't feeling well and they made it just perfect! I tried everything when I got hone from pick-up, (only 10 minutes), and everything was absolutely "fresh"! They were polite and paid attention to my order even though they were very busy. “What you receive for the amount spent is definitely 5 stars. I've had my fair share of Chinese take out. Gunston Wok is up at the top. I see some reviews giving this place a bad review based on a bad experience with a specific menu item. This seems unfair. I too have things I avoid here (I'm looking at you, curry dishes). I love Chinese curry, but the curry from here just tasted weird (would not buy again). It is normal for any food establishment to have a menu item you avoid. The few dishes that I frequently get are well made and competitively priced (beef with broccoli, lo mein, hunan shrimp, and a few others). The chef is skilled. Overcooked shrimp is leathery, undercooked tastes raw. The chef gets it right, every time. The taste never changes, so I know what to expect when I make an order. Today, I ordered sweet and sour pork combination platter and replaced the roll/soup option with wonton soup (costs slightly extra). The wonton broth is clear and not too greasy. The wonton dumpling in the soup uses thin dough (tastes better than other places that use thick dough). $11.50 total spend. Worth it. Have I had better Chinese food? Sure. But such places charge $25-$40 per dish. Gunston Wok is superior in satisfaction-to-cost ratio.“

The service has always been friendly and fast and is pretty standard fare for your average Chinese-American restaurant. I usually get takeout since I frequent the shopping center going to Food Lion or the dollar store they have there.My two favorite dishes are curry chicken and Hunan beef, you can't really go wrong with those! Dine-in space is limited so carryout or delivery is probably the best way to go. Prices are average and reasonable.“

“This is one of our favorite Chinese places in Woodbridge. We've ordered Crispy Sesame Beef, Sesame Chicken, General Tso Chicken, Shrimp With Mixed Vegetables, Chicken Lo Mein, 2 different Chow Mei Fun, egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoon, and the dumplings and never been disappointed with any of it. The one thing I was a bit disappointed with was the fried rice. It's not typical fried rice, and I don't like it quite as much. Deliveries always arrive quicker than promised, and the delivery driver has always been nice to us.“
