“Blackberry Festival was so fun and if you missed it, you best plan to attend next year! Multiple vendors with many awesome products for sale… the BBQ was AMAZING, “Live Music” was amazing, and even more importantly, some of the best wine choices Virginia has to offer!“

“Very Nice Cottage. Very Spacious and Quiet. Fully stocked kitchen if you needed/wanted to cook. Very nice and spacious bathroom as well. Sadly all the cottages are close together and the porch all face each other. Neighbors were shining flashlights at our Cottage while we were there staying. How close they are are the only downfall. Little issue with the house keeping but not horrible some of the glass was missed as well as cob webs in the light fixtures. Overall it was a great stay.“

“Fine wines in a very friendly and laid back environment. We’ve probably driven by this place a half dozen times over as many years without stopping. This vineyard took the top honor in the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Cup and we now wish that we had stopped in sooner. We would definitely go again.“

“Fabulous place to spend an hour or a whole afternoon. The tasting room is cozy and the grounds are breath taking. And the wine...whether white or red,you will find a favorite. One of our favorites is the Screaming Hawk Meritage. highly recommend!!“

“Great wine and outdoor seating! They’re very dog friendly, but I wished they enforced the on leash rule a bit more. We had our dogs on leash and two dogs off leash ran off to greet us. One of our dogs doesn’t react well when off leash pups run up to them. And we had to physically pull the new pup off ours, and the dog owners weren’t even near by. I think they were the owners dogs or the owner knew them well. They were very sweet, but I wish the rules were either enforced for everyone or there was an off leash area.
But again, the wine was good, the staff was very friendly, and the environment was nice to sit outside. Recommend!“

“This place was a lovely surprise! I've been to the Afton area several times over the past few years, usually on the Trolley Tour out of Crozet but we had never stopped here. My daughter and I were in the area on Mother's Day weekend and stopped here. I had no idea I like Vermouth! The Vermouth tasting was so good, we bought 2 bottles of the spring version. We also had a lovely flight of 6 wines (didn't care for one of the merlots but that's our taste not the fault of the winery). Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back and will bring friends!“
