“Absolutely loved this vineyard. Not only is the wine great, but the service is wonderful. We did a tasting and I wish I remembered her name but she was extremely friendly and super knowledgeable about the the wine process and gave us a traditional tasting experience that I feel many vineyards don’t do anymore. We left extremely happy! It wasn’t super crowded so we just showed up. There was plenty of seating inside and outside.“

The standouts were the Brut 2020, Sauvignon Blanc 2022, Roseland 2022, and Chardonnay 2022. Among these, the Roseland 2022 truly shone - its balanced flavor and smooth body made it a delight to sip. I got the white flight, a bottle opener, some food, and all of it reasonably priced.

Beyond the exceptional wines, I appreciated the vineyard's amenities. Parking was a breeze, with plenty of space available. The grounds offered ample room to stroll and take in the scenic views. “Gorgeous setting on a working farm. Went out of the way on a Thursday for the "locals happy hour" Oakencroft advertised on Instagram, but none of the staff were apparently aware of this so they did not honor the wine special they advertised the day before. Ended up with a rose that was very dark and tart (almost a red wine), not my favorite. I would go back and try something different, and hopefully the staff will also be in the loop on what events and offers are being advertised next time.“

“Had a great tasting experience at Michael Shaps. We came with our friends from Charlottesville, who were members of their club.
We did the deluxe tasting, which covered the majority of their offerings. All the wines were delicious, and our server was friendly and informative.
The winery itself is beautiful, plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the wines. There is even a Tesla charging station if you need a charge while you are touring.
