“We were in town for Overland Expo East and stumbled upon this stunning winery and we are so grateful we did! The drive to get there is beautiful and the winery itself is nestled between the mountains with a pond and vine views! We enjoyed a lovely sunset and did the tasting. My favorite was the Chardonnay which I typically don’t like but they skip the oak and the buttery notes and instead you have a beautiful, balanced and drinkable wine. The Rose was also light and crisp and the staff knowledgeable and attentive! Despite looking very formal the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable for all crowds, including kids and dogs who were sprawled along the front lawns! You won’t regret the drive!“

“We've been there several times and truly enjoy the winery. Did tastings back in 2015 and just fell in love with their Quattro wine. The lication is ideal, quiet, serene and so relaxing. They do have live music, but we haven't been there to experience. We highly recommend this winery...you won't be disappointed. Staff, lication, ambiance, and quality of wines are outstanding!“

“Fine wines in a very friendly and laid back environment. We’ve probably driven by this place a half dozen times over as many years without stopping. This vineyard took the top honor in the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Cup and we now wish that we had stopped in sooner. We would definitely go again.“

“This place was a lovely surprise! I've been to the Afton area several times over the past few years, usually on the Trolley Tour out of Crozet but we had never stopped here. My daughter and I were in the area on Mother's Day weekend and stopped here. I had no idea I like Vermouth! The Vermouth tasting was so good, we bought 2 bottles of the spring version. We also had a lovely flight of 6 wines (didn't care for one of the merlots but that's our taste not the fault of the winery). Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back and will bring friends!“

“Yesterday was our first visit to King Family Vineyards, and it was delightful. It was busy for a Friday afternoon, but there were plenty of staff on-hand to serve customers. The grounds were thoughtfully planned and there was ample indoor and outdoor seating. We came home with two bottles of wine to enjoy, after sample 2 different wine flights--Red and Summer.“
