“We attended ghe Apple Festival. Was great weather. It was bjsu but plenty of free parking and well organized. Bring your own chIars as seating was vefy limited. Lots of food trucks and some lines for food were long. Might want to nring you osn drinks as selections at food yrucks were limited. Perfect fall colors! Farmers Market too!“

“Came here with some friends and really enjoyed our time. It’s a smaller operation but the valley the winery is in is beautiful and there’s lots of space to sit outside at picnic tables/adirondack chairs/blankets on the ground. We tried a few different wines and really enjoyed them.“

“Came on a Thursday with my mom and dad husband and kids and absolutely loved it. We brought our own picnic lunch and had a bottle of wine. They were so accommodating and sweet and the wine was perfect and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful!“

“Wonderful experience! Hubby and I visited the tasting room for Valentine's Day. We shared the Reserve flight and Valentine's Wine & Chocolate flight. We took home bottles of four of the eight wines in the flights. The food, corn chowder and a crimini mushroom flatbread, was excellent too. It's all cooked to order & served at the table. Very attentive service. Beautiful setting with sweeping views. I'm so happy that we chose it to celebrate Valentine's Day. It'll be easy to persuade hubby to take me again for my birthday in the summer.“

“Came with the family this past weekend. It was both nostalgic and sentimental for us as we grew up coming to the vineyard as kids.
As we grew up and moved away for college and later our careers, it’s been many years since we’ve been back. Lots of great memories and now we are finally old enough to be able to enjoy the wine with the adults haha!

“Fabulous place to spend an hour or a whole afternoon. The tasting room is cozy and the grounds are breath taking. And the wine...whether white or red,you will find a favorite. One of our favorites is the Screaming Hawk Meritage. highly recommend!!“

“This place was such Napa vibes! The tasting flights were affordable and the staff very friendly. The entire property was gorgeous and sitting overlooking the pond was beautiful. We loved being able to bring our dog!

If you’re sitting on the patio, definitely bring bug spray. We sprayed Off and were still being bit. We were unable to move indoors since we had a dog with us, but we would like to recommend the owners maybe spray the patio for mosquitos or install overhead fans / provide more standing fans for a stronger breeze. Bug spray did not help as we were still being bit with the bug spray. I walked away with 12 bites, including 1 on my face, 1 on the sole of my foot and 1 in between my fingers.“

“Had a great tasting experience at Michael Shaps. We came with our friends from Charlottesville, who were members of their club.
We did the deluxe tasting, which covered the majority of their offerings. All the wines were delicious, and our server was friendly and informative.
The winery itself is beautiful, plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the wines. There is even a Tesla charging station if you need a charge while you are touring.
Definitely make Michael Shaps a priority for your next wine tour!“
