“Recently my family celebrated Easter Sunday Brunch for the 3rd year!!! As always, the food, atmosphere, and service was excellent! The brunch menu was extensive and delicious. Our waitress was polite, attentive, and very knowledgeable. I’m sure we will be returning next year for our 4th annual Easter Sunday brunch celebration. Keep up the good work. Thanks.“
“Best country cooking I have had in a long time. I had to get dessert after lunch and the pistachio almond coconut cake was the best cake ever!! I just happened to be in Powhatan for a family funeral and this was recommend to us. I would go again . No doubt the “
“Nice little bar and grill. Very clean and organized. The nachos with beef are excellent and the Bacon and cheeseburger was very delicious also. The menu has something for everyone and the service was excellent and will definitely be going back in the future.“
“Frisby's, a local Powhatan restaurant didn't disappoint. Not 5 stars, but it's a family restaurant, not a fine dining establishment.I can't speak to the rest of the appetizers, but the Carolina Reaper wings actually brought some heat combined with a really awesome flavor! Tender, juicy, flavor packed! What more can you ask for?My catfish platter, with cornbread, okra, onion rings and corn bread was really nicely done. The portions were large and the catfish was really, really tender and juicy. The okra was cooked very well but lacked somewhat in flavor while the onion rings were really good as well. Tender, and not too much breading. My wife had Nachos, her report is, "they're not Mama Kwans or El Cerro, but the portion was large and the toppings generous and well flavored".My granddaughter had the popcorn shrimp with fries, the popcorn shrimp, she reported, were pretty good with a little too much breading. The fries......OK. She loves her some fries and can be a little picky. We all had leftovers for a fine dinner at home. That's hard to do with me. I'm a lifetime member of the clean plate club! All in all it's good American roadside fare at a reasonable price. We will be back.“
“I had a three cheese burger and added bacon and jalapenos. I'm super impressed with the burger. Very generous amount of meat and obviously hand made patty. Fries were good but just the standard crinkle cuts you can get anywhere. Beer is cold, staff is friendly and I highly recommend the burger.“
“First time in...Overall, food was good. Not great like "wow authentic italian", but good enough to go back. The arancini appetizer was good. They would be better if they were bigger than bite size and had more rice. For entrees, we got 2 kids fettuccine Alfredo. We paid extra to add chicken to make it a more "complete" meal. We also got the Manicotti (wife) and calzone (me). Wife really liked the Manicotti. The calzone was only "ok". The ham inside was cold, not enough ricotta cheese in my opinion, the dough was too "doughy" and not crisp enough and they almost ruined the calzone by covering the top with a TON of grated cheese (think canned stuff you get at the grocery store). Calzones DONT come with grated cheese on top! Its all about the mozz and ricotta... The sauce served with it had great flavor.Next time, I wouldn't get a calzone even though that's my Italian go-to..“
“Very nice little restaurant on the side of the road. Enjoyed spending time with old friends and acquaint family style southern restaurant. Everything was a bit salty to my taste, but overall enjoyable for a home cooked meal of southern charm. Make sure you're paying attention because you can drive right past it“
“Love the home town country store feel. The food is better than expected. Great food experience both to go and dine in.Service is nice but slow. They cook and bring out plates one at a time. Expect to wait 30 minutes or more even if not very busy.Parking: Limited parking, try in back“
“We stopped here on our way home from my Birthday celebration weekend. The staff was amazing. We met another Birthday buddy and child of God. I had a special made to order Veggie sandwich on Rye that was delicious. Pancakes are awesome. Don't skip this rare gem.Kid-friendliness: Special surprise for Kids qhen they dine in.“
“You have to first understand, this place is in a gas station with a big sign and small letters. It's easy to miss. But if you go inside. The staff is friendly and very ready to help with anything you might need. The food is always on point. And the prices are pre pandemic prices. Everyone talks to you and are very hospitable. Ita usually not crowded. Don't take it as a bad omin. They seem to do more carry out than sit down service. You can go eat for less than you'd eat at McDonald's, but get a world of flavor. I can not stress enough the value for money. Give it a try if you can. You won't be disappointed. They also have very interesting specials [ex. Frogs legs, ox tail, pigs feet]“
