“Stopped in for lunch. It was very busy as the hostess was dealing with two large groups. She apologized repeatedly. I understood and was patient (I'm never in a rush to rush others). I ordered the mini burger, chicken tenders and fries for my two children. My wife had the hangover burger with a lemon drop martini. I had the fried fish Gripper (it was huge). The flavor and crust was perfect. They have a great beer selection. There were no IPA's on tap so I had the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat. Our server, Taylor, was amazing and attended to every requests quickly. Thank you for being awesome!“

“Awesome diner! We were just driving through and needed a place to grab a late breakfast before continuing on our route. Rise & Shine was the perfect spot!I ordered a veggie omelette with Swiss cheese and it really hit the spot! The omelette was large and full of veggies (peppers, spinach, mushrooms)! It came with a side of crispy hash browns and 4 slices of rye toast. I also ordered a side of fruit which consisted of bananas and grapes. My partner ordered an egg sandwich on a bagel which he also very much enjoyed. Finally, the "free refills" for coffee was a great touch for my tired self. The service was super friendly as well and our server was especially sweet and attentive. Really felt like what an old-such diner experience is supposed to be like!“

“I mean, it's Cracker Barrel. You know what you're getting when you go. This isn't 5- star gourmet cuisine, but it's good comfort food. This visit was my kids' first time, and they're all teens. They were caught off guard by the store at the front but loved the menu, games, merch, and atmosphere.“

“Great selection of beer! Their fries are the best. My husband loves their Chicken Fingers. We used to go to the location in The Fan before it closed down and I loved their vegan Potachoes! We went for dinner on Wednesday evening and the live music provided a wonderful atmosphere along with the friendly staff. I definitely recommend this spot if you are in Ashland!Vegetarian options: They have several vegan options including a black bean burger, but they do not have a dedicated vegan/vegetarian menu. They also have vegan cheese, but it’s Daiya (which is still good!) instead of the homemade cashew cheese that they served at The Fan location.“

“Quite the unique place, RIGHT ON the train tracts in the heart of Ashland. Friendly but professional staff (see dietary comments). Ashland has community free parking very close to the restuarant. Not expensive at all!! For the type of venue, atmosphere is great and unique!!Dietary restrictions: My husband has serious and MANY food allergies to things commonly found in restuarant foods (corn products of any type- - corn starch, corn oil, corn etc/ dairy of any type, pepper, olive products and more). They were most helpful and accommodating. Even though we were far from we will return. There are not many places we can eat out.“

“I booked a room here because it was close enough to DC but not in the heart of it. I absolutely enjoyed my stay. Staff was wonderful, especially William. He helped me with my bags and made sure that I was well informed and gave me food options in the area. I will definitely be staying here again. Hope to see you again William!“

Homemades By Suzanne Caterers • $$
102 N Railroad Ave, Ashland

“My Lady and I were in the Glen Allen, VA area to visit some of her relatives and her cousin took us to Suzanne’s for lunch. This was a real treat. I had potato salad and a reuben sandwich and some vegetable soup. The food was 5-Star and the best veggie soup that I’ve had in a very long time. When discussing the rating of the food with My Lady, she was knit-picking until I asked her about the big cookie that she had … her remark… “Off the chart!” Case closed. The ambiance is back-home country and one of us had to sit down at a table to hold our seats while 2 of us went to the counter to order the food. They also call your name when your order is ready and you have to go to the counter to pick it up. There is no table service.“
