4 Best Mexican Restaurants in Powhatan

“I was in Powhatan so looked for Mexican food restaurants. I tried Rodeos. I have to admit that the outside almost made me turn away. It was a little scary looking for a single woman. Fortunately I was there at 1 on a weekday for lunch, so I gave it a try.
The food was better than average, but not the best Mexican that I have had. The salsa they give you when you sit down was very mild. I prefer medium heat. I judge Mexican restaurants by their Chile Verde. So I ordered it. I was served a red sauce instead of the verde sauce. The pork was very tender and the seasoning on it was good. The red sauce was too bland. But then I was expecting the verde sauce, which is spicier. They did bring me their homemade hot sauce. It had a good flavor, but was too hot for me. I mixed it with the mild salsa and it was perfect. The refried beans were well seasoned. The service outside of the mixup in what I ordered was good.
There is a better Mexican restaurant in the area, so not sure I will be back, but I might.“

“Only one other customer in the dining area but drive thru was busy. Immediate service with food quickly provided. Restaurant dining area was clean. Food was what you expect from KFC, well cooked chicken, good mashed potatoes and a biscuit with butter.“
