“Seriously, a gem of a hole in the wall local place. My daughter had the "merica burger" and she devoured it. I had a Lucky Charm burger with a rice crispy treat on it... sounds weird as hell, absolutely demolished it and almost ordered a second one. The beer was cold as hell too! 10/10 will stop by this place anytime we are in town, hell, maybe even if we are within 50 miles. Edit: Forgot to add. I had a flight of Bloody Mary's and my 8 year old wanted one. So they brought him a non-alcholic tomato juice in a little cup. He was absolutely delighted. Waitress was absolutely awesome and I would say very kid friendly.“

“Food is always hot and tasty here, but be careful using Apple Pay or Credit Cards here. I ordered a cup of ice cream that costs $5.15, and then they charged my Apple Pay $7.96! Luckily I noticed it right away and got my change back for the incorrect amount or else I would’ve been screwed smh…“

“Went through the drive thru. Very busy time, long line of cars but the wait was minimal. Employee was friendly and tried to help me with my BK card as payment but was an issue with the card company so I had to use other payment. Not their fault. The food was the best tasting I have gotten from BK in years! It was hot and fresh. It just tasted so much better than other BK restaurants I usually go to, I don't live in the area. I will be stopping by again!“

“Saw Slay burgers on TikTok and Facebook, noticed they were located in Richmond VA. Wanted to give it a try, and I gotta say, I was blown away, the interior design was custom made for the restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious, the menu was super easy and straight forward to read, they offer burgers, chicken sandwiches, hoagies, chicken wings, waffle fries, and drinks. The cooks KNOW what they’re doing, the front of house staff was amazing. 10/10 BETTER AND CHEAPER THEN 5 Guys. GO TO SLAY BURGERS“

“We live and work in the Brookland Park Neighborhood and love BPK's accessibility, friendly atmosphere, well balanced menu and service. Not only have we dining multiple times, recently I was in a pinch for a cocktail party and found relief. At the very last minute I was able to place a catering order for three signature dishes and they were all crowd favorites! If you live in the neighborhood do yourself a favor and check them out. “Our order has only been wrong twice out of the (very, very many times) we've been there, and even then it was only missing 1 small thing.

Every person who's ever served us there has been great. Even if they're not chipper, they're ALWAYS polite and get you whatever you need, no sighing or eye rolling even once. Everything is always cooked perfectly and we've never been shorted on portions.

All around, definitely the best food you can get for the cheapest price, with people that aren't terrible. If Cookout isn't paying their entire staff above-average wages, they should start, because everyone there deserves it.“

“It's a well known Hotspot for the younger crowd, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on Cookout from an older adult's perspective. This place is AMAZING! No matter what time you go, the food is fresh and hot! The milkshakes are INCREDIBLE..and a huge variety as well and unlike the laziness of McDonald's not wanting to take care of the shake machine, I have never been told their shake machine is down at Cookout! The menu choices are great too...make sure to try their BBQ sandwich and hushpuppies for a nice change.

“I have noticed some comments on here saying that they were excited to try but when they got there it was closed down, please be patient with the owners guys the husband is a veteran of the navy, the army & the marines he has had some health issues recently and him & his wife who is the sweetest person in the world run the place by themselves so they have to shut it down sometimes when they are not able to make it. We all age one day right so if you are going to show up have your expectations set accordingly and also, show up with some respect.

The regulars of places like this go by all the time do not come to nine mile road or RVA period disrespecting, bullying, or trying to prove points because you didn’t get your way. You will be in a very unfavorable situation.

“My husband and I just ate here for the first time this evening and it was amazing. I had the taco salad with chicken and it’s one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Kid friendly, but don't be a jerk- if you are ordering food (for yourself or your kid) rub the two neurons together that it takes to understand how unfair it is to the staff to order food on the balcony - it SUCKS to have to get food to there, (and, shockingly!) even more than it sucks having to go back downstairs to order food. Just be a decent person, order drinks at the bar (like a normal person), and get your food downstairs close to the kitchen.... that way it is still warm when you get it, and you won't sound like a completely entitled dumbass when you complain about how long it took/how cold your food is, when you were too lazy to even try to go downstairs without the burden of an order.“

“I am a DoorDash driver, and I’ve been to this location frequently. Every single time, it is spotless, everyone is so kind, and they are quick to bring out the food. When I was there today, there was an ENTIRE group of people with one singular order (I’d say around 35 people? All on one ticket.) and I had 2 DoorDash orders. Let me tell you, I have never seen ANY restaurant, regardless of if it was fast food or not, bring out such quality food in such a timely fashion. Not to mention they were so patient with the entire group, and me! They were so nice, and such troopers. Good job today, guys!!“

“I’m fairly new to the area and have only visited Chipotle, Ironclad and Pig and Brew for food. I decided to come here since they are within walking distance from my home and I was not disappointed! The food is great and the guys who run the place are so friendly and welcoming and it honestly makes you want to eat there all the time. The cakes are delicious and moist. So good, I went back twice within the same day just for a second slice! They’re a great group of guys especially Junior who knows how to make people for comfortable and demonstrates, with great patience and enthusiasm, what it means to give great customer service. I can’t recommend their food enough and highly encourage any and everyone to give them a try if you’re in the area and have a sweet tooth for cake or a taste for something hot and filling.“

“A solid 4 out of five. The wings are good the mango habanero sauce is great. However the wings are a little dry I guess overcooked. The rice bowls are very tasty chicken and lamb are a favorite. Decent pricing across the board and I will definitely return.

Food was great, and our server was a lovely young woman who dealt with another complaining customer with grace and respect. She didn't have to, he was obviously trying to save a couple dollars by claiming that the food was bad (after he and his family ate all of it).“
