“One of the best meals I have had in Tyson’s Corner! Way above average!“

“Meeting with my Greek contractor, James Kifonidis, at Image Kitchen & Bath, on the other side of Hunter Mill Road from SouvlakiBar, I mentioned how disappointed I am with them, describing my one and only visit. He recommended Plaka in Vienna. Following our meeting, I went there for lunch.

In contrast, Plaka is five star! Chicago Gyro immediately caught my eye on the menu, so I ordered it along with Humus, Spanakopita, and a Mythos Beer. Growing up in the seventies and having many dining experiences at the truly legendary landmark Greektown restaurant, The Parthenon, on Halstead Street in Chicago, I can verify that Plaka indeed is serving Chicago-style gyro.

Chicago-style gyros are characterized by a balance of savory, garlicky, and herby flavors, with a mix of textures from the thinly shaved, crispy outside of the vertically rotisserie-grilled lamb and beef mix, and a tender inside. Creamy tzatziki sauce—a yogurt-based sauce with cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, and dill—adds a cool, tangy, and creamy contrast to the savory, spiced meat. Fresh vegetables like tomatoes and onions, served wrapped in warm pita bread, complete the dish.

The two appetizer triangle-shaped spanakopita were flavor-balanced, featuring all fresh ingredients—spinach, the foundation ingredient, and feta—wrapped in thin flaky layers of phyllo brushed with olive oil.

The small, unassuming spot, seating only 24 guests, serves high-quality Greek fare made with care and pride, in my opinion and experience. I arrived at 2:30 PM last Thursday, and lucky for me, there was one seat available.“

“We ordered Lezzet on our first night when we moved to Vienna and have been weekly customers since. The food is amazing and service is excellent! We even once accidentally ordered pickup to the wrong location and they fulfilled the order at the Vienna location anyway!“

“My fiancée and I pre-ordered online as we were returning to Herndon. When we arrived, the restaurant had received our order but they hadn’t been notified about it, so they said it would be just a few minutes. The owner was extremely apologetic and offered us a complimentary baklava as an apologetic gesture. As the kitchen prepared our order, we chatted the the owner (Sarfraz) and he was extremely pleasant. We tried the hummus, tzatziki, stuffed grape leaves, gyro sandwich and chicken souvlaki sandwich. Everything was well seasoned, fresh tasting (even at 8pm), and reasonably priced. Definitely cannot wait to go back and try more - esp. since we live less than a mile away…dangerous! They’re admittedly still getting their feet under them as they JUST opened, but highly recommend giving this place a shot!“

“Incredible evening! Divine food, truly the best damn gyro. The Greek owner personally cooked for our family and told us fascinating stories all night. Played old Lebanese tunes to entertain us (we’re part Lebanese). And gave us a personal art tour of his wife’s beautiful paintings.“

“This was a really fun place to go after a hike in Great falls. There was a group of us and we were able to get in on a Saturday night. The food was delicious and the back patio is really fun at night. This is one of those places where you can sit and chat and enjoy your meal.“

“It's Amphoras! It's an institution! Great breakfast featuring a waiter in a tux! He was all business and got us taken care of very well! “While the portions are on the smaller size the food is some of the best I've had. The atmosphere was average. Little better than avg. I would recommend the salad and always ask for extra toppings. The staff was some of sweetest people I've met. It did take a little for the food to be ready but it was well worth it. Everything tasted to phenomenal. The dates in the salad made it fast amazing it was the perfect touch.“

“Came here with friends for lunch on a weekday and we sat outside… they have a nice side alley area with umbrellas and tables to enjoy on nice days. They also offer full service out there. The menu is the typical Mediterranean menu… Gyros, salads, other items.
Service was very friendly. The food was really good. Plating needed a little help though. The Greek salad had random white onions on top which really didn’t belong there. Otherwise, the grilled chicken on top was very flavorful and amazing!

Overall, it was a nice visit… Definitely would recommend.“

“Wow! Besides the food being exceptional, I was also informed that they cook in exclusively olive oil, use good quality ingredients (no shortcuts), and their meat is halal. The owners are passionate and the food tastes like a lot of love and thought has gone into curating each dish.

I got the guac taco dip, Mexican chicken tacos, and pressed taco- flavorful, fresh and probably the best food I’ve had in a while.

“In recent years there seems to be a proliferation of small-plate Mediterranean restaurants. But Yayla remains as one of the best, reasonably priced originals in northern Virginia. There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. Wait staff and servers are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and not obtrusive. Don’t miss the nice selection of creative cocktails, wine variety and desserts. “The gentleman at the counter had wonderful customer service. We paid for our food even brought it to the table, which was very nice. It felt like fine dining, he gave us a bit of conversation and seem like such a pleasant gentlemen. I enjoyed the food. It was amazing. I eat every drop and the baklava ice cream with everything took a friend for the first time. My friend said he enjoyed it, and we will definitely be back again. I recommend this place highly if you love Greek food and gyros.“

“Uber eats, was not in restaurant. I actually got the chicken gyro, bogo free. Absolutely delicious! The tzatziki sauce, which in most places I find to be too minty and watery, was Absolutely delicious as well. I do security at the Buro at Tysons and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good gyro. Next time, I'll be trying the lamb!“

“Mr. Pepperoni Pizza is a great little place near downtown Herndon! They have the best calzones I’ve ever tasted, and it’s a wonderful family friendly atmosphere! Their lunch specials can’t be beat! I only wish I lived closer!

We also got the Shish Kabob and Eggplant Parmesan. Both were ok, nothing special about either. The prices were very high so for the entrees so I expected better quality; however, .the portions were large.

We also got the Tiramisu and Cheesecake. Both were very good.“
