“In recent years there seems to be a proliferation of small-plate Mediterranean restaurants. But Yayla remains as one of the best, reasonably priced originals in northern Virginia. There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. As fans of Persian cuisine and frequent shoppers at Yekta Market in Rockville— having recently tried our hand at making Persian dishes like Fesenjan at home— coupled with all of the culinary accolades— we had high expectations for JOON. It not only met but exceeded them. Mast-o Musir, yogurt dish with Persian dried shallot and rose petal, was exceptional— more elevated and nuanced than any we’ve had. The mushroom Khoresht stew with white truffle was another highlight, offering perfectly balanced flavors something hard to do with white truffles and a satisfying richness, complemented by the perfectly crunchy Tahdig, iconic golden rice crust. The braised lamb shoulder which Yacine suggested was the undeniable highlight of the meal I which each dish was excellent. Tender and flavorful, it was paired beautifully with texture. It’s a signature dish that rivals the best we’ve ever had, bringing to mind the legendary Bo Ssam pork shoulder from David Chang’s Momofuku— bold, unforgettable, and expertly prepared. The Gormeh Sabzi, short rib stew with its delicious sour depth, was excellent but couldn’t quite match the lamb’s showstopping brilliance. Two very minor points. While the food and service are exceptional, the main dining room lighting would benefit from dimming. A water filtration water system could make a big difference as well. JOON has firmly secured its place as a must-visit dining destination for us. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu.“

“The gentleman at the counter had wonderful customer service. We paid for our food even brought it to the table, which was very nice. It felt like fine dining, he gave us a bit of conversation and seem like such a pleasant gentlemen. I enjoyed the food. It was amazing. “Best GYRO and Fries I have ever ever eaten in my entire life and I'm a senior citizen that has travelled to over 40 countries. I am so happy I decided to visit the GYRO factory. The portion is way too much for what you pay - amazing value. Crazy portions. Moreso, the taste of the food. Dang so so good. Truly, my mouth is watering as I type this review. The service was awesome as well. The environment is clean, bright, and welcoming. If you like Gyro you owe yourself justice to try GYRO Factory in Lorton. If you don't live in Lorton, then strongly consider that its worth a 30 minute drive to dine on there. For fry lovers, no fast-food chain can compare with their fries. My one thought after dining at GYRO Factory was what a shame it would be if people who enjoy GYRO's never experienced a GYRO Factory Gyro. What a great place and the person who cooked and served the GYRO was so kind.

“Yafa Grille location in Lorton, VA is out of this world! We ordered the chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, and a chicken bowl — and every bite was absolutely incredible. The chicken was juicy, the steak was tender, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The chicken bowl was overflowing with fresh, vibrant toppings — crisp arugula, juicy tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, briny olives, and sumac-seasoned onions. Everything was unbelievably fresh. Their garlic cream (toum) was next level — light, fluffy, and made fresh with healthy ingredients. The hummus was velvety smooth and full of flavor. You can truly taste the quality and care they put into every dish. This was hands down one of the best Mediterranean meals we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!“

“My wife and I use this as our go-to place when we need quality food that is not junk and is a great value. The orzo is my personal favorite but honestly there hasn't been one dish I've tried that has been disappointing. I am genuinely confused by the people who give this place one or two stars. My wife loves the pork chops. They held up really well even after being delivered. I had the gyro and it was amazing. This place is consistent and if you're looking for a hidden gem in a sea of awful takeout, this is it.“

If there was one bit of feedback I would share is that their menu prices online are a little bit out of date, but that should be a simple website update. “I’ve been coming to this location pretty much every weekend for the last 3 years and realized I’ve never actually left a review! They have another location that is bigger than this one, but honestly, this one is the better spot for food, service, and the overall vibe. I actually live closer to the Falls Church location but still make the drive here because the staff are always super friendly and the experience is consistently good. On Fridays and Saturday, it can get a little busy a hectic but the wait usually isn’t too bad, maybe around like 10–15 minutes. My order has always come out right and the food tastes fresh and delicious every time I’ve been here.

The place itself is clean, condiments are always stocked, and there’s a really nice mural on the wall that gives it a cozy feel. Nice music playing most of the time I come and seating is a little tight but it’s comfortable. Every time I come in,I’m greeted right away and the staff have been the same since I first started coming so they know what they’re doing. If there ever is an issue, they’re quick to fix it. If you have any allergies or food restrictions, they are pretty accommodating to requests so that is something to consider.

“Had food delivered, the quinoa bowl with chicken was delicious. The lemon olive oil dressing was refreshing. The hummus trio was also, very good, I wish they had an option to order a single hummus, as the ground beef, pine nut hummus stood out. The hummus platter comes with pita and pita chips, I don't eat gluten, so I cut up some cucumber and also used the lemon potatoes. My son said the pita chips and breadwere good...
The lemon potatoes were yummy, however, due to the composition of the take out container, the oil leaked through and was a bit of a mess. I will save those for dine in, rather than take out.
I wish there was a easy to modify the bowl, I should not eat cabbage and would have liked to remove that from the bowl.“
