It’s been 10 years since I moved to Virginia, and I have to say, I love it here. That said, I do miss the beaches and the incredible food from Miami. Ever since I moved, I’ve been searching for the perfect spot—a place where both the food and the service are amazing. Let’s be honest, that’s hard to find. Often, the food is great but the service is just okay, or the service is excellent but the food falls short. When looking for a place to celebrate my wedding anniversary, a few options came up, and one of them was Sabores Tapas Bar. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it there at the time and ended up going to two other places—one was okay, the other was awful. Later, I told my wife we needed to try Sabores, maybe on New Year’s Day. Again, we ended up at a “safe” spot we like to visit. The food and service were good, but it was just our usual go-to. Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Mom, forgive me for saying this, but Sabores Tapas Bar is as good as, if not better than, your cooking, and the service was amazing. Wow. I’ve found the place. It’s so good that I want to go back and try dishes I normally don’t like, just to see if they can make me love them. I can’t wait to return. My taste buds have found the love of their life at Sabores Tapas Bar.“

Some of the gluten free ones out there are eh, at best. This beer has a full body taste. I did not have any issues drinking it. Now, that being said if you are gluten intolerant you must know yourself really well. It may not be for you, but than again it may. I am just excited that I had no issues and enjoyed a full tasting beer!“

“The best little bakery you could ask for and it’s right in my neighborhood. This could be a problem. Maybe if I walk there I can burn enough calories to justify a daily cinnamon roll. And time my arrival as Max is pulling them out of the oven. Because they are sooo good. Also try the baguettes, croissants, and various pastries that seem to randomly roll out throughout the morning. Note: if you want a fat Cinnabon, go to the mall. These are cinnamon rolls with a moist, barely baked center. Apparently not everyone is a fan of the sweet gooey center. It makes me think those preparing the menu may be arrogant to believe that price means nothing to patrons. Price matters. Are foods and drinks priced too high to be transparent? Are all patrons so well off that price to them really does not matter? I will sometimes pass over a place if they hide their prices, just because there are so many others that do not hide them. The atmosphere just by itself deserves a reluctant visit.“

“I had been seeing honeygrow everywhere and never really knew what it was, so yesterday, Saturday, I finally had the chance to stop in, and I’m so glad I did. Everything looked so fresh. The restaurant was clean, the kitchen and cooking area were immaculate, and even the beverage bar was spotless. The whole place felt pristine at this location. The employees were nice, and the customer service was very satisfactory. I ordered the kale chicken Caesar and added bacon. I also had them heat up the chicken and bacon. My plan was to take it home, but it looked so good that I opened the container in the car just to have a taste, and it never made it home. It was absolutely delicious. The Caesar dressing, the chicken, and everything together was just amazing.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. I first tried one in a choose your own 6 pack and was hooked. The lager was good, but this is my favorite. I tried it because I'd never heard of beer made from Teff, and I like trying new things. I wish Fresh Mkt had the honey one as well. I have bought the Addis Teff a few times now. Someday I want to visit the brewery!“
