It’s been 10 years since I moved to Virginia, and I have to say, I love it here. That said, I do miss the beaches and the incredible food from Miami. Ever since I moved, I’ve been searching for the perfect spot—a place where both the food and the service are amazing. Let’s be honest, that’s hard to find. Often, the food is great but the service is just okay, or the service is excellent but the food falls short. When looking for a place to celebrate my wedding anniversary, a few options came up, and one of them was Sabores Tapas Bar. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it there at the time and ended up going to two other places—one was okay, the other was awful. Later, I told my wife we needed to try Sabores, maybe on New Year’s Day. Again, we ended up at a “safe” spot we like to visit. The food and service were good, but it was just our usual go-to. Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Mom, forgive me for saying this, but Sabores Tapas Bar is as good as, if not better than, your cooking, and the service was amazing. Wow. I’ve found the place. It’s so good that I want to go back and try dishes I normally don’t like, just to see if they can make me love them. I can’t wait to return. My taste buds have found the love of their life at Sabores Tapas Bar.“

The only complaint I have is every time I have come to this specific restaurant I have gotten over 8 bug bites each time. “If you are gluten intolerant this may be the beer for you. I have been gluten intolerant for 13 years now. I used to enjoy a beer here and there. Some of the gluten free ones out there are eh, at best. This beer has a full body taste. I did not have any issues drinking it. Now, that being said if you are gluten intolerant you must know yourself really well. It may not be for you, but than again it may. I am just excited that I had no issues and enjoyed a full tasting beer!“

The restaurant has quite a bit of seating inside and free wifi with some seating outside as well. They had great service and the coffee was excellent. We live 60 miles away and unanimously agreed to come back here just for the food. They are getting a liquor license and will start serving drinks next week. I can't wait to return. Additional bonus, the staff was awesome, friendly, helpful, hospitable and the food came out quickly.“

“The best little bakery you could ask for and it’s right in my neighborhood. This could be a problem. Maybe if I walk there I can burn enough calories to justify a daily cinnamon roll. And time my arrival as Max is pulling them out of the oven. Because they are sooo good. Also try the baguettes, croissants, and various pastries that seem to randomly roll out throughout the morning. Note: if you want a fat Cinnabon, go to the mall. These are cinnamon rolls with a moist, barely baked center. Apparently not everyone is a fan of the sweet gooey center. It makes me think those preparing the menu may be arrogant to believe that price means nothing to patrons. Price matters. Are foods and drinks priced too high to be transparent? Are all patrons so well off that price to them really does not matter? I will sometimes pass over a place if they hide their prices, just because there are so many others that do not hide them. The atmosphere just by itself deserves a reluctant visit.“

“Their donkatsu is massive! It's the thinner, old school Korean style donkatsu, which I really enjoyed. The sauce was flavorful, and the cold noodles paired really well with it. If you're craving nostalgic Korean style donkatsu, this is definitely worth trying.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the salt bread because I prefer mine a little more buttery. This one was chewier, with a clean, subtle flavor and a nice nutty richness. It just wasn't my personal preference.

The melon bingsu was huge and could easily be shared by three people. It was refreshing and made a great dessert to finish the meal.“

“I’m going to post the same review I gave on Yelp - this is a 5 Star place! After a day in DC, my family decided to try Soul Thai on our way home. What a terrific Experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. She shared with us that she personally picks the freshest ingredients she can find to ensure the quality of the food. I would highly recommend Soul Thai to everyone. We will be coming back soon. “The food was really good seasoning wise but I like my noodles a little less al dente to hit the perfect mouth feel. My sister did however, really enjoyed the vegetarian option. That being said I will still definitely be back! At the end of the day the customer service was so excellent here it was the real star. I had never been to this particular restaurant and Danny was such a help that he helped take all the guess work out. He was also so very caring and came to check on us and other customers in the store which is definitely not your typical casual dining experience. It’s people like these who give us hope in the service industry/humanity again! In other news, the industrial and rather breezy—on a hot day—atmosphere of this place was great and it was ULTRA clean.
