Since leaving the NYC/NJ area, I haven't had a really awesome "regular" (non-flatbread) pie until we got takeout from Rusty's at the start of the July 4th, 2023 long weekend (We've been in VT since 2012). Their crust is thicker than a flatbread, but definitely not heavy. It has a perfect chew and crispy bottom. They are generous with their cheese (and know how to cook a pie given that!). Do not judge a book by its cover. When you first walk in to Rusty's your first thought is "where am I going to sit?" But if you are lucky enough to get a seat inside it is more than worth it. Pretty big menu and the food was absolutely delicious!! Music playing through the speakers, tiny video games to play, one of the owners is cooking, the other waiting on their guests. I felt happy when I was here.
