“Matt and I have been to Hoagies in Essex a few times as of late and have had the best experience. The servers are amazing, the quality of food is consistent and tasty and we always feel welcome. If you’re wanting quick, yummy eats look no further. Treat yourself to the house Italian dressing. It’s been my favorite since I was a little kid in the 90’s!“

“My family has been coming here for years. Both my girls worked here and we have always appreciated the level of consistency that Mimmo's food offers. Always fresh, hot and delicious entrees and salads. Most recently I have been sitting at the bar while I wait for my take out order and have had the lovely privilege of being waited on by Simone's partner. She is a fireball with the best customer service skills I have encountered in Vermont or anywhere! “Super-fun experience at the culinary experience at the Essex Resort in Essex, VT. Our instructor, Denise, led us through the recipes and techniques to create a wonderful Vermont dinner that included roasted root vegetables, braised chicken (in dark beer and demi-glacé) with shallots and a variety of mushrooms, and a lovely kale salad. We were given the opportunity to decorate autumn themed sugar cookies as well as dip tiny apples into a luscious caramel coating. A small group of 9 students made the experience very intimate. Our meal was served with wine and fresh bread accompanied by an herbed compound butter. Denise was a perfect instructor and I would recommend the experience to anyone who loves to cook.“

“We made reservations for our large group ahead of time and they were very accommodating. The service was fantastic, keeping our drinks full and making recommendations from the menu. The food was all delicious, and everyone enjoyed their meal. About half of our group hadn’t had Indian food before but they all left as fans! The waiter was able to easily guide the vegan in our group to a variety options for him. We all enjoyed tea and a sweet at the end. We are so glad to have found this restaurant and will definitely be back!“

If this makes it to you, some comments on food choices for dinner last night, May 2026.
The nachos for sharing were very good! My companions had them previously and recommended them. A hit!

The falafel pita could really use more tzatziki sauce. A generous smear would have been great, it was barely there. I would have asked for more, my order was to go so unknown until later.

The Wizard's Grain Bowl was ordered by a family member and looked pretty generous and amazing.
That will be on my next visit.

“We came in for an early dinner and were sat immediately! Seems to be more of a take out place.
Top notch mango lassi. Mango and yogurt combination was top tier.
Chicken Korma was less on the sweetness, different than our local place back home, but I actually prefer the one here. Flavor was wonderful and hit all the rights spots.
Tandoori chicken was a huge portion and we ended up taking home leftovers enough to be another meal!

“My husband and I tried the Guild the other night to celebrate my birthday and had an incredible meal. We ordered drinks, the Steak Tartare, rolls, the filet minion special, the ribeye and finished it off with orange crème brûlée and the Guild sundae. “Being highly allergic to onions I made that clear to the waitress, the cook accidentally added onions by mistake. The waitress caught it and had the cook recook mine and my dates meals all over again. The namager actually came to our table to explain the situation and apologized for the mistake. Owning the mistake was a huge deal for my date and I. Much appreciated for sure. That screams how well these folks at this Williston Vermont location care about their customers. “We were visiting from CT in search of a quaint place for breakfast. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the spicy bloody Mary's with their house made jalapeño infused tequila. The breakfast food was fantastic. The bacon was crisp, the homefries spicy and filled with the right amount of flavor, and the corned beef hash was a great Irish Breakfast. Our server was fantastic! She offered us several suggestions on places to see while here such as going to Burlington and seeing the lake views with the mountains. What a great find!“
