“Janina was amazing from start to finish! We tried three cakes for our tasting and they were each so delicious we ended up incorporating all of the flavors in the layers of our wedding cake. She did such an amazing job with the decorating of our wedding cake, it was truly stunning. Our guests also loved the cake, it was delicious!

She helped me plan a surprise grooms cake for my husband and that also came out incredible! It was modeled after his favorite train and she did such an amazing job replicating it. She is so lovely to work with and we can’t wait to try more desserts from her the next time we are in town!”

“This experience was FANTASTIC! Drove by on my 5th Anniversary getaway with my wife, and spontaneously stopped in. Tom (Educational Director) was absolutely brilliant in describing different coffee brewing techniques and learned about varietals of coffee. 10,000,000% recommend this place. Tom is a keeper!”

“Penzo makes the perfect pizza. The dough is baked just right and there are enough tasty menu options that we can have a different meal each time we go. They are super friendly and just want to make the world a better place through good food. I'd also add that their prices are below the curve. We miss you in Montpelier!!!”

“I brought a bunch of students to this fine establishment on Monday evening and we were served by Theresa, who can banter with the best! She took excellent care of us. The apple pie with cheddar and the maple cream pie were legendary! All of the food was excellent, but the chicken parm was exceptional. Thank you, Wayside, for an uplifting evening and being stalwart in central Vermont!”

“Every time I've been, the menu has been almost entirely different and I've ordered a wide sampling from the menu. I've test to have a single bite of food that wasn't thoughtful, intentional, perfectly prepared, and delicious. The bar program is also fantastic, as is the service. I cannot recommend this spot highly enough!”

“Service was 10/10 , the person at the counter was very nice and super patient when I couldn't decide what to eat.

Crab Rangoon 10/10 , loved the sauce it was served with ! Especially when I used the hot mustard with it.

Chicken Lomein 3/10, the chicken texture seemed off , and was too salty to eat. I ended up throwing it away.

Overall the staff seemed nice and the restaurant smelled really good walking in. I would come back and try something else but I don't think I'd get the lomein again.”

“Definitely a required stop. Great donuts great bakery great cider all kinds of stuff from Vermont My nephew did all his Christmas shopping in here it was supposed to be a brief stop ended up being there for about an hour”

“The Thai food is particularly good. I was not a fan of the calamari, but there are many many other things on the menu that they specialize in that are worth getting. This is a great spot for dine in, or take out. Highly recommended if you like Thai!”

“Listen, I know it's a pho spot, and you won't be disappointed if you get Pho, but you need to order the Kim Special. It's the spicy beef and pork noodle soup with the addition of seafood. This thing during winter clears all sinuses, fills all tummies, and packs an ungodly amount of flavor.

The staff is also incredible here - during my visit, it was a team of two (Kim & Hien) serving more than 20 seats and doing so with a smile on their face.

Reservations recommended for groups of 5 or more though I saw them accommodate this on the spot.”

“Ideal for a quick lunch, this is my choice for dining at noon most days. Even lunch special plenty of food. Hot hot stir fry makes for crispy veg and tender meat. Sometimes they let me order off the menu schezuan pork (shredded) and I leave so very satisfied.”

“This is a beautiful spot by the winooski river, we ate on the outside porch with a view of the river, even saw a mother Robin feeding its young in a nest in the rafters. I had linguine pescatore which was delicious, my partner had scampi e cape sante also delicious but unfortunately both meals were light on the scallops hers had 1, also I have to wonder why some sort of bread wouldn’t be served with these dishes. I did mention to staff after and they offered to compensate which I turned down but was made sure I would be treated next time we’re in the area The staff here are great and service was quick, definitely a place to go”
