“Eclectic menu - loved the lobster starter with aioli, potatoes and bacon. Squash curry soup was flavourful and served piping hot. Portions were generous. Service was friendly and timely. We found one dish salty but still ate it all but the server voluntarily removed it from our bill anyways - and gave us extra whipped cream for our Spanish coffee. The best restaurant that we have been to in Rutland.“
“I came to town from New Orleans and this is the first place that I felt the New Orleans energy. Seemed quiet initially but was very inviting upon entry and helped us to feel right at home. Great neighborhood bar and would definitely return in the future“

“Stellar in every way. Food was perfect, service was perfect, drinks were wonderful, atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming and everything was extremely clean. Probably the best overall dining experience we've had in years. Can't wait to come back. A+++“
“I expected an average local spot in Rutland but was pleasantly surprised when I found this place. Food and drinks are affordable and tasty, music is awesome (jukebox helps), and the environment is more than comfortable. I will definitely come back on my next ski trip.“

“Their menu is quite extensive, so you can't go wrong. The beer (Rutland Beer Works) speaks for itself. I wish they were open during the week at this time for lunch, but staffing issues are all over. I'd highly recommend Hop'n Moose to everyone!“

“Excellent Service(Shannon is the best!) and excellent food. I love the ambiance here as well. Very welcoming atmosphere and they make you feel right at home. I highly recommend the burger and fries which was cooked perfectly. My husband had the fish and chips and the portions were huge! It's not very often that my husband couldn't finish his meal and he actually had to request a box to take it home. I give this place 5 stars and highly recommend coming here. We are definitely coming back when we are in Rutland.“

“Came here with my friend, her husband, and their 1 year old. The hostess seated us at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. There was a 4 top open that wasn't set yet but she did not offer it to us. Maybe 10 mins later a couple walked in and they also did not have a reservation and were seated at the 4 top. Seriously? Our party had 3 adults and a kid and they seated us at the bar and the couple got seated at a 4 top? A bit annoying to say the least... Appetizer was good although the spinach-artichoke dip was a bit oily. Food was pretty good as well. Waffle fries were hot and coleslaw was delish with the fresh herbs. However, my fried chicken thighs were a bit dry and overcooked and definitely nowhere near as hot as my fries. Kind of disappointing for a place known for its fried chicken. Fairly small place on the inside. Next time I will know to call ahead and make a reservation. Despite the annoyance with the seating and lackluster fried chicken, my friends enjoyed their meals and our server was very friendly and attentive. The place is cute, one of those true VT gems and I will most likely be coming back (and hopefully the chicken will be hotter and moister next time!).“

“Best wings I've ever had. Fall off the bone but tender as hell. Great crunch and flavor.Loved the close feel of the place. We were visiting from out of state and this place stood out as one of my favorites. Super friendly here too.If you get the chance, stop by for their half off wings!!!“
“4 TVs to watch the games. Full bar with decent craft brews on tap, plus the usual domestic beers. Parking is not bad, with lots of spaces on the street or the small parking lot beside it. The city doesn't enforce meters after dark, it seems. One star for food because they don't serve any! But you can bring in food. Lots of good restaurants within a minute walk, and you can bring it in with you. Good pool table, just one, but it's enough. A few booths for more intimate gatherings. Definitely a "locals" place that openly welcomes outsiders. Has a nice outdoor patio area. If I had to say anything negative, it would be that it isn't bigger, and I'd wish for more craft brews on tap (only 4, though they have cans of others). It can get warm inside in winter, so dress accordingly. Good for conversation since the music is low and the noise is less than what you'd find in an Olive Garden. With this long review, you can tell this is my favorite local place. The place has been here for decades, a rare find these days.“
“Super chill place. Open mic Tuesdays, DJ on Fridays but what is super jamming is the karaoke on Thursday and Saturdays with Tenacious T. If you haven't gone to sing your missing out. I'm not sure what's going on there Wednesdays. Go check it out sing or dance have fun either way!“
“I'm very happy to say the Blue Cat is back and it is fantastic. I went there with one other person and we each got two drinks, an app and an entre (one was a salad) and the total was like eighty bucks even. Fantastic food and the pricing was great.“

“For starters, the Tap House Wings (Unbreaded, VT Maple BBQ) was fantastic! The Wood Fired Brussels Sprout and the Onion Rings were good as well. For mains, the Tap House Supreme Pizza was delicious! The staff was friendly and constantly checked it on us. Overall it was a wonderful experience!“

“Small, local bar in West Rutland. There's a covered outdoor section and a bowling video game inside the bar. No food is currently served. Limited parking out front of the bar but most parking is on the street. Friendly and sweet owner.“
