“The food is delicious and the service is great! There’s always some event going on here and my daughter loves playing music on the juke box and dancing on the dance floor.Stop by! The owners are so friendly :)”
“AMAZING! ? I am obsessed with pho and I can say this is the best pho and fried rice I’ve ever had. The service was also great our service checked on us multiple times, very friendly, and very fast. I definitely recommend trying it out.”
“This is the bomb of the town. You would regret coming here but come early and pray to get a table. Btw you have to order first then she let you in. Don’t waste people time and not a table service. There are like 3 table for 8 people to seat. They do mostly take out and can sold out easily. Their menu rotates and you get new every once in a while. Check online for their menu. The service is so nice. I would just come to experience the good service. The food is amazing and honestly I won’t judge you if you order one of each.Food is amazing. Well maybe it was cold out too but the curry I had is out of this world. Love the egg addon.”
“I have been dining here my entire life and I've never been disappointed! I love the Wayside!Kid-friendliness: Best place to bring kids! They always have something to color, crayons and food kids love!”
“My fiancé and I stopped in at this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The owners were warm and kind and the food was absolutely amazing!! Huge portions more than worth the price. The broth and everything included is packed full of flavor and love. The owners obviously love what they do. We will be returning to this restaurant again very soonVegetarian options: Beautiful vegetarian selection! I was happy to receive as I actually have a meat allergy and am always disappointed how little restaurants have to offer or care for my food options”
“At the half way mark of our 8 hour drive, we came across this gem of a place to have dinner and we didn't regret it. Hands down, best pizza I've had and great service as well. Rest assured, we'll be stopping here again on long trips.Much love from Canada ??”
“Decided to stroll down the block and look for breakfast. Have done it many times and didn't find any. Saw the sign they were recently open. Was great. They even make the bread they serve in house. It's a must try when in Montpelier ”
“Was craving an espresso tonic and asked the barista if they could make one even though it wasn't on the menu. They went out of their way to get all of the necessary ingredients from the brewery next door, and what I thought might be a hacked-together-but-satisfactory espresso tonic was perfectly made and delicious. Very kind and generous barista, very good coffee, very nice experience.”
“Great food and great people! I wish the seating situation was a little less awkward, but we have learned to treat this place as our go too joint for on the run meals. We call in sandwiches from here anytime we are passing through Montpellier.”
“Love Bent Nail, music is always fun . I've never eaten there so I can't speak to the food. Last night the bar tender clearly wasnt paying any attention to who was waiting for drinks and when they arrived. It took her over 15 minutes to finally acknowledge me. Disappointed as usually thos hasn't been my experience.”
“Love love O'Maddi's always recommend going when they are open. Great people and food. Love my avocado turkey melts. And the baked goods are always on par.”
“Pearl Street is a gem in Barre. Great atmosphere. We got a couple salads and a wood fired pizza. The salads were fine (I recognize it’s hard to create a stellar local salad in winter) but the pizza and drinks were top notch. And even though they were bustling the service was EXCELLENT. I’m looking forward to going back to try the grandma style pizza!”
“Close Shave shaved ribeye sandwich with mushrooms, caramelized onions, garlic mayo, etc, with the upgrade to a side of poutine, and then some Parlay oatmeal stout to wash it all down with. All three were outstanding!”
“It was our first time at Oakes and Evelyn, and we were excited to try something new for a special dinner out. While the food was fantastic, we were a little disappointed in the experience. We each had a bao bun (I the mushroom, my husband the pork belly), and they were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend them. For our entrees, we had the NY strip and the bolognese. My pasta was very good, but my husband's food was barely warm by the time it got to our table. And that was our biggest issue - service was incredibly slow. That's not something we'd normally complain about; we weren't in a rush and they were obviously training new staff. But it seemed like we were being ignored. There was a certain customer who must have been some sort of VIP, because that table was obviously being favored at the expense of the rest of the customers. Our waitress spent a lot of her time chatting him up (as did the restaurant owner, very loudly I might add), showing him multiple bottles of wine and laughing at his jokes while I had to wait 15+ minutes for a simple beverage refill. Eventually the host finished taking care of our table because our waitress was so absent. The atmosphere was cozy, perhaps overly so. We had a relatively early reservation, and while we were seated right up against the back wall next to the bathroom, we did have ample room away from other guests. By the end of our meal though (1.5 hours later), the restaurant was packed full and there was very little room between ourselves and our neighbors. They were so close, we felt that we had to awkwardly make small conversation with them and acknowledge their presence to avoid being rude. They also commented on the close quarters as they were being seated. All that being said, we'll likely be back, as we're assuming this was just an off night for them. We believe in second chances, and they're definitely worth giving another try.”
“Ds Cafe is more than a restaurant; it's a culinary haven where the rich fusion of local Indian and Nepali flavors, especially the exquisite Chicken Tikka Masala and delightful momos, feels like a taste of home. Heartfelt thanks to Mama Sherpa for making every visit unforgettable.”
“The staff were so welcoming and helpful, great service and outstanding food! We could not have asked for a better dining experience and look forward to coming back here next time we're in town!”
“Michelle is a very friendly lady she is the owner of Campo di vino I always come down about every month to buy the sauce it's all home made products at Campo di vino the Campo family makes Michelle and me get in to conversation when I'm there I recommend this place if looking for an Italian store”
“This is our second time staying and we had a great experience both times. The owner is really nice and accommodating. As long as you’ve read the rules on the website, there aren’t any surprises. It’sVery quiet, has nice roomy, hot showers. We were there for family weekend at Norwich and it’s an easy drive to campus.”
“Great food, super reliable. I traveled down to the Barre location for years and was thrilled to see them open up a location in Montpelier. Very easy to order online- just pick the right location! The veggie burrito is yummy! The montp location doesn’t have the best dine-in experience (it’s in a gas station!) but it’s perfect for picking up and eating on one of the picnic benches around town, or on the steps to the state house!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are primarily the veggie burrito- it’s delicious, robust! Beans, rice, avo, lettuce, veggie medley.”
“Came in for a family member’s birthday. All four of us had amazing meals. The service was excellent. We asked our server to bring out a gluten free dessert with some candles we’d bought and she did a fantastic job setting that up. Beer selection was solid. We had an excellent experience!”
“My family’s loved all of the offerings for ages, beyond excellent bread. Favorites are -olive -raisin -garlic -white loaf -english muffins. Freezes well too. ♥️?”
“Always a great hometown family feel type experience. The delicious smell of baked goods fills the street. I love the flavor of their breads, my personal favorite is The Manghi’s!Kid-friendliness: Kids can pop in and purchaseIndividual rolls after school.”
“Coffee shop I've been going to ever since I was little. While it's certainly changed with the pandemic and flooding in terms of layout, it's always a reliable source of coffee and baked goods. Personal favs on the menu include the maple latte, their hot chocolate (w whipped cream!!), and their blueberry muffins.”
“Have eaten there for years and have never had a problem . Great food great service and wonderful atmosphere . Don't live in town anymore but try to go when I can . Nothing around is better than them . Can't beat authentic food .Vegetarian options: Can opt to have vegetarian and can pick what is in the dish .”
“Joe Cocker playing on the speakers, two workers crankin out sandwiches (and today’s special, brisket tacos), and yummy cold-weather, fill you up food.I had the roast beef, my husband the lamb shawarma. All of it was great! Thanks!”
“Would have given 6 stars if I could. What I presume to be the owner (named Squeaky) stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. One pet was all it took. The quality of the owner's coat could only be the result of a diet rich in tacos. The people that work there are pretty nice too!”
“We're so lucky to have this restaurant in town. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and prompt.Vegetarian options: There is a wide variety of vegetarian food here,.”
“Very good, legitimate, Italian in downtown Montpelier. The Italians who immigrated to work Barre’s granite quarries, left more than just their last names in Vermont. They left a good piece of their Italian heritage that still enriches Montpelier.”
“Love this coffee, especially making it with my Chemex, which brings out all the flavor. The Hard Tail aged in Barr Hill Gin Barrels really tastes like it! Unbelievable!”
“Great small town bar and grill. Friendly staff. Food is Very Good, and reasonably priced...standard American fare. Good selection of beer. Easy access with streetside parking.”
