First time to try and I am from Texas. I might of tried when I lived there but that was when I was a teenager. Chicken was so good. Okra was over cooked and some burnt. Biscuit melt in my mouth. Corn on the cob was a no good. Not fresh and over cooked. Over all good but not the extra sides that I got.
Is it common for Church's to use different batter for different locations. In Lakewood well cooked and flavored. Fife the new location was terrible. They use cornmeal in the chicken batter. I've had Church's all my life (from Chicago where they are common). Flour not cornmeal (or whatever that was). Chester's chicken is way better. Go figure

I went to get their Wednesday's special in the hopes that it would be fresh. I went there at 13:30 pm, and the chicken was warm as if It's been sitting there all morning long. So I have no idea what time they start cooking their chicken. And the rice was very crunchy. Even the macaroni was very dry, as if they used it from last night or something.
