“my husband and I will go there about few times a year. this was my father in laws favorite place to eat every Wednesday with his brother for many yrs. Yesterday(July 21st) we ate there at approximately 7pm. very nice waiter we had. my husband ordered a Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. he indicated that that meat was very tough and rubbery. I tasted it and totally agreed with him. but that won't stop us from going there again. we did show up on July 16th(Sunday). had no idea you closed up so early(it was about 6pm)“

“NEW NEW NEW! New snacks, new games - fun times! They have pinball games now and it’s amazing. Of course the cider is lovely, rotating and fabulous. Heard there’s a pizza test kitchen happening, I had a slice and I’m into it. Don’t be deterred by the weird parking lot, you’ll have a good time.“

“We had a date night here and were absolutely impressed. The Beecher’s grilled cheese and butternut squash soup was a stand out. Both of our pasta entrees were phenomenal as well. The star of the show, though, was our dessert, which was a deconstructed PB&J. I don’t think I’ve ever had something that had such a wide variety of complementary textures. It was amazing and flavorful.“

“Hy lu Hee Hee ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hy Lu Hee Hee means “Good Times and Lots of Laughter.” The Hy lu Hee Hee is a Gig Harbor, WA local’s hang-out that got it start as a Tavern in 1935. In 1958, the State condemned the tavern building and asked that the business vacate the premises, so they could build a new highway to Purdy. The business was rebuilt in 1983, in a new location, by new owners, which is where it has remained ever since. I have been visiting Gig Harbor since 1990, but my first visit to the Hy Lu Hee Hee wasnt until 5/19/23, which was a Friday. Although I arrived before 9 PM, the music was LOUD! I’ve decided to do a sound check via the app SoundPrint. It averaged 83 dB and got as high as 88 dB, which is considered Very Loud. That would’ve been acceptable if I had signed up to see a live band, but it wasn’t. It was bad pre-recorded music, being played over blown speakers. I had to shout out my order. Everyone around me was shouting too. My server told me this is the norm after 9 PM. Unless you’re already deaf, or enjoy the thought of shouting at your dining companions, I recommend you visit the Hy Lu Hee Hee earlier in the day. I ordered one of the five house favorites on the menu, Fish + Chips ($17) - Breaded and Seasoned Wild Alaskan True Cod with Fries, House Slaw + Tartar Sauce. Compared to all the fish and chips I’ve eaten in Washington state, it was pretty standard fare. It was a generous portion of fries, and I liked the housemade tartar sauce. The coleslaw had decent flavor, but it obviously been made sometime ago and was swimming in liquid. Personally, I prefer Tides Tavern, which is another Gig Harbor local’s hang out, but I’ll be back at some point to visit the Hy lu Hee Hee. Next time, I’ll just make sure to do it earlier in the day. * I would like to share some photos of my dining experience, including a picture of my fish and chips, but that option is disabled on this page. “

“Absolute 10/10 BBQ spot. Great food and huge portions. The nachos are easily big enough for 2-3 people. Brisket was super tender, no sauce needed. The smoked chicken was moist and delicious. Super impressed and the service was awesome too. Highly recommended. Outstanding bang for your buck here.“

“My family and I stopped in tonight to grab something quick to eat. Tonight was our first time stopping in even though we have thought about it for years…. I’m so bummed we waited this long. My two kids, my husband, and myself all agree this was the best meal we have had in a long time. Also, it was so affordable! Now a days we can’t go grab food for less than $50 and we aren’t happy. Tonight it was less than $40 and our bellies are completely full. Will definitely be back, and let everyone know how good it was. Can’t wait to come back in the summer and try their shakes with real strawberries“

“We love the Original Pancake House and have been eating breakfast at these establishments for more than 30 years. The one in Gig Harbor is new to us and didn't disappoint us. The service was great and the pancakes were even better. We'll definitely be back for more.“

“Blazing Onion\nGig Harbor\n1030880545\n\nThis has quickly become our go-to spot for a fantastic variety of food from their diverse menu. It’s a family-owned franchise, and every visit makes us feel like part of the family.\n\nThe general manager, Ashley, is thoughtful, engaging, and wonderfully affable. Her assistant manager, Carlos, mirrors that same welcoming style. Leadership clearly starts at the top, and while we haven’t met the owners, it’s obvious they take great care of their team and the staff, in turn, takes great care of the customers. There is a wonderful video on the web site that features the owners and their personal startup story.\n\nI’ve noticed some negative comments here and there, but in my experience, those are the exception, not the rule. The Gig Harbor Blazing Onion is one of the best places to be on a Friday or Saturday night. If possible, go early—it gets busy for good reason! Naturally, at a popular restaurant like this, small delays or missed details can occasionally happen. If they do, just get the attention of one of the friendly team members. Over time, we’ve gotten to know several: Chris, Devin, Quinn, Ray, Dana, and the always-effervescent Denise.\n\nThe menu has something for everyone. Yesterday, we arrived around 3:00 and chose to sit outside—it was a warm, sunny fall afternoon in the Northwest. My wife and I shared a Caesar salad and my favorite, the bone-in chicken wings. They’re usually cooked to perfection—yum! We always order them “naked” (less mess, and they provide wet towels just in case) with sauces on the side. Here, the saying is true: the sauce is the boss. I love dipping into the ranch or blue cheese, then sprinkling in some mango habanero dry rub. That little combo gets the taste buds dancing! Honestly, they should call it “Bruce’s Blend.”\n\nWe also love their fresh-squeezed grapefruit drinks; so refreshing! They’re popular, so occasionally they run out, but it’s still one of our go-to choices whenever available.\n\nIf you’re in the area, make time to stop by, relax, and enjoy a family meal. Introduce yourself, ask the staff their names and you’ll quickly see how friendly they are. Before long, you’ll feel like family too.“

“While visiting Crystal Mountain Resort (Our Guide Hailey) recommend this eatery.
Our server/bartender Abby was AWESOME!
We were able to sample a few beers each before ordering.
The recommended food and appetizers did not disappoint, and The Guinness was PERFECT!
When in Gig Harbor, we will DEFINITELY go back to see Abby at Tides Tavern.“
