“Best carne asada in Seattle, possibly anywhere. They have the timing down perfectly for cooking the steak so it's done on the outside, but a hint of pink in the middle. With thin cuts like carne asada it's easy to over cook, but I've never seen them do it in the 15 years I've been going here. It's rarely crowded even as the trendy restaurants across the street come and go, drawing the people to the neighborhood. You can usually walk right up and take a seat at the bar.“

“I’ve been going here since I was little and never once have I had a bad experience with the staff, the food, allergy issues, seating or anything else you could dream of. I genuinely challenge you to find a bad item on the menu

It gets a little loud sometimes when it’s packed but if you ask you can always be seated in the much quieter back or even outside in the summer.
This is genuinely my favorite restaurant ever and I though I might as well give a review now that I’m moving away lol“

“This place has a special place in my heart. I've enjoyed the restaurant a few times on my own but me and my friend went in on the dia de los muertos parade event and it just felt *right*. Chips and queso is so good. The tacos are always good. Gotta say, the potato taco is my favorite. They also serve two soups and who doesn't love a warm cup of soup? It is a little pricey but it's worth the hype.“

Mother, who made the menu. The homemade corn tortillas were bomb, and I recommend getting the tomatillo bean dip… it’s insane. 10/10 would recommend and will be regulars“

“We stopped here for lunch when we were passing through. We had been traveling for a few days and just wanted a quick and easy lunch. We were glad that we stopped here!

We ordered at the counter and the food was tasty and quick. Our only complaint was the lack of seating for our group of six. We had to split into two groups when we sat down to eat.“

The taste of the meat directly off the flat top grill combined with the fresh ingredients make this one of the best gems in the neighborhood imo. The guy running it is so friendly and welcoming too. “I’ve been here many times since it’s my closest local Mexican restaurant, and I always return and keep coming back. Everyone is super friendly and makes you feel welcome. The chips and salsa are always warm, fresh, and crispy. The al pastor burrito and carne asada burrito are really tasty, large, and very filling, full of great flavor. Great spot!“

“The boss is super nice! I ordered the steak taco and the food was really delicious. He even recommended the Mexican soda to us and said it’s his absolute favorite! The place has such an authentic Mexican vibe! And get this the boss even gave us a shirt as a souvenir gift!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“

“There's NOTHING friendly about this place. I will not play the race card, HOWEVER, I did record a video. The server who served us left and the next shift bartender came. This guy did NOT acknowledge me until I asked for a napkin. The video is almost 6 minutes long and he so much did not say hello. The queso was so "watery" that it dripped on me and the bar. Appetizer plates were not even brought to us. No one checked on how the food was or drink. Poor service. Unfortunately, in this day and time this type of service is accepted and tolerated.“

“Okay, you definitely have to know what you’re getting into here - I mean, it’s a Taco Del Mar. But for a fast-food establishment, this is probably about as nice as you can get. It’s not technically as fancy as something like a Chipotle, but it’s got more soul than any of those corporate slop bowl places could ever dream of having, and it feels like it’s maintained in a much more loving manner. The food is tasty and comforting, and the employees couldn’t be kinder. If you’re in the neighborhood and you’re looking for a quick bite, there aren’t too many spots I’d recommend above it.“

“This place can get busy but it has plenty of options for seating. Unfortunately we sat right next to the door, feeling the cold air whoosh in and out each time someone came and went. It was the worst table but have come here at a table inside and it was a much more pleasant and liked our experience better.

Food was great, huge portions, and incredibly satiating. I wouldn’t recommend the carne asada in the burrito since it had really small pieces. Casual. Decent service. And a nice walk to and from if you’re in the neighborhood because parking can be really difficult. Plus, you’ll need it after the meal.“
