“I'm already looking forward to returning to try more menu items. The peanut pepper wrap was vegan without any modifications, and they let me leave out certain veggies on request. It was ginormous, delicious and seemed relatively healthy. Can be made gluten free if ordered as a salad, per the staff. The staff was very friendly and the outdoor seating was beautiful, with a large lawn, lots of trees, and a distant ocean view. Nice lunch spot with my dog. Highly recommend!“

“Wow! Wow! Wow! If you are looking for perfection in your baked goods- come here! We just had the best carrot cake we've ever had! (And honestly- I make a pretty mean one myself!) But this one blew the doors off my recipe! It was loaded with pecans on the outside, making it look beautiful as well as tasting incredible too! Not sure what all was inside, but it was loaded inside too! Not too much spice which sometimes overpowers the taste of the cake- it was perfection! Danishes were fresh and awesome too! You can't go wrong here!“

“Stopped in last night for a gluten-free pizza, and it was good. Crisp and firm, not soggy. Would definitely recommend trying one of their pies gluten-free or not. Salads are huge. The restaurant had a warm, homey feel to it, and our server was pleasant. They serve beer and wine, not sure about anything stronger.“

“My family and I stopped here on our way to the ferry. It was beautiful. The wine was delicious and unique. The people were warm and welcoming, even when 5 campers at the end of a 4 day trip rolled in. It was quiet while we were there right when they opened, but I would bet it's a busy spot when they have live music and food! Can't wait to go back!“

“EDIT they put "add mushrooms" on the menu right under the Philly Cheesesteak amazing sandwich super stoked the owner values the customers!Every restaurant I've ever been to will put grilled mushrooms on whatever you ask except this place the cook can't be bothered to add an extra minute to cook the mushrooms and throw it on your philly cheese steak (the philly cheese steak is really good but it's better with mushrooms)“

“Maureen was great! She was so busy but had all the time in the world to tell us about the specials. Had the halibut with the stew - so good! My son loved his salmon, salads were great and cookie and ice cream delicious! Definitely will go back when we visit Friday Harbor again.“

“Ordered beans and cheese burrito and pork quesadilla. Wow, surprisingly good. The burrito got better with every bite. The pork quesadilla was good from the first bite. You know how sometimes you make some cup ramen and ask "what is it that makes this so satisfying?" That's how I feel about this place.“

“Very small , but very good. The banana foster French toast was very good. My wife loved it. Atmosphere cute and quaint. Service was great. I ordered Eggs Benedict, my only negative, eggs well done. Benedict should always have a runny yolk. But the hollandaise sauce was very tasty and full of flavor. The fried potatoes and arugula salad was delicious. Overall very good. Give it try.“

“It was a beautiful day, and we decided to stop by for a bite to eat. The owners, who work alongside their wife, were also looking after their kid. I can imagine how challenging it must be to find help. Fortunately, the food was great, and we encountered no issues at all. It's definitely a nice place to relax. “There is a lot of hurry up and wait on a trip back from the San Juan Islands. I have heard horror stories about people getting stuck in Friday harbor because the ferries are having problems. Even with a reservation, you might not get a spot headed to the mainland. We decided that getting there early was good insurance against possible difficulties. We got our place in line with a couple of hours to kill until we might get on a boat. It was lunch time, so we thought a trip to The Bait Shop was in order.My son and I discovered this place last year during the Friday Harbor Film festival. It is an easy to miss spot on Spring Street next to the movie theater. There is a big space inside that is mostly empty. In the summer the space is filled with a line of eager fish and chips fans. Since this was November, we had the place to ourselves. We claimed almost all of the stools at a counter by the window while My cousin and I put in our orders. The menu is pretty straight forward - there are a few fried seafood choices served with fries and coleslaw. I was intrigued by something called crab tots, but at $18 I was not going to take a chance. I got the two piece cod. For bigger appetites, there is a three piece option and if you don’t like cod, you can get halibut. There is a cooler of canned and bottled drinks to choose from, but I prefer fountain drinks with fish and chips.I would not have been surprised if our group of 7 had overwhelmed the tiny kitchen. I should have had more faith. In the summer these guys manage to feed a line that fills the shop and overflows out into the street. 7 orders is nothing to these pros. Our food came out in a couple of minutes. We barely had time to gather ketchup, salt, mayo, other condiments and fill our cups. Everything was fried to perfection. The fish was crispy and cooked though, but not dry. The fries were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. All the cooked items were good and hot. It was served with plenty of tartar sauce.I like to start with the coleslaw. This version was fresh and crunchy. There was just the right amount of dressing on it to give it flavor without making it soggy. There was an unusual herb in there that I did not like, but that is a matter of taste and not a lack of skill on the part of whoever made it.Except for the coleslaw, we ate with our hands and made full use of the paper towel napkins that were provided. I was good and full by the time I was down to scooping the french fry salt from the bottom of the cardboard boat that everything was served in. There was plenty of time left and even though it was November, our thoughts turned to ice cream. The Bait Shop offers soft serve chocolate, vanilla or swirled. It is probably fine, but we skipped it in favor of the place at Cannery Landing.“

“Place is beautiful, the bathroom is outside before you enter the main entrance and the staff was great. Came here to grab a dinner but the price was a bit elevated so I only went and got the Lumpia. I dont blame them, they are in a secluded island far far away, other than that the place is beautiful especially outside during the Christmas time. Also another thing that was great about the place is its literally by the ferry so no hassle of being late for the ferry when you want a little food before the ride.“
