Fort St. George is a hidden gem in the Chinatown district, offering a great overall vibe with old cartoons and anime playing on the big TV. Highly recommended are the bento box, which provides an awesome selection of food choices at a great price, and the melon cream soda, a delightful Japanese soda served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The katsu ice cream is also a delicious and beautifully presented dessert.
The restaurant is a favorite for Japanese food in Seattle, with an exceptional atmosphere, service, and location. Even after a month in Japan, it remains the top choice for the reviewer.
While the service and some menu items, like the spicy cheese fries, may be hit or miss, the Doria with shrimp and scallops is a standout dish, with a flavorful risotto cooked to perfection. The Mt. Fuji drink, however, was a bit watered down. Overall, Fort St. George is a good spot for quick comfort food, with the Doria being a must-try.
