“Unfortunately a bit of a dead space. There was barely anyone there when we went. There was no music and the atmosphere was very somber. We were asked to leave early because my friend was talking too loudly about lesbian sex, so it's kind of ironic to be kicked out of a lesbian bar for that. But on the other hand, the bartender was super cute and the drinks were good/fun. So maybe just sit in the corner quietly and very nun-like.“

“Super cool place. My friend and I (both girls) came here because we were kicked out of Wildrose for talking about lesbian sex. I was a bit worried we wouldn't be welcome since it seemed like a space that exclusively catered to queer men, but everyone was incredibly friendly and nice. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. I would definitely love to visit again when I come back to Seattle.“

“Fun bar with friends and friendly staff which is kind of a must for a gay bar. One of the staff, Jordan, seemed very positive and enthused to be working there which was nice. Made me feel welcome.

Food is good for a bar and not too unreasonable for Seattle. Nothing special, but it doesn't need to be.

“I love this place. I only ever come here for karaoke, but the bartenders (shout-out Marcus) are super nice and attentive, the karaoke hosts are on point (shout-out other Marcus, who judiciously employs audio effects to enhance your performance)... it's just an overall pleasant time.“

“Surprisingly good and filling food. The fish tacos had a generous amount of fried fish. Ceviche tasted very fresh and had a large amount of shrimp. I should’ve got just the tacos because the ceviche was too much. Good place for lunch.“

As a Black person who's new to the city, I'll be honest: Capitol Hill's gay bar scene had me feeling like an outsider more often than not. CCs changed that. The vibe here is inclusive in a way that actually means something — not performative, not selective. People here are just... themselves. Nobody trying too hard to be something or prove something. That energy is rare and it matters.

The bartenders Lonnie and Brix were phenomenal — attentive, personable, made you feel like you'd been coming in for years. I'm sure the whole staff brings that same energy.

The music is a major plus. They actually play a real mix — R&B, different genres — and they've got a digital jukebox so you're not held hostage by whatever the DJ feels like that night. Refreshing compared to places that just default to the same pop/dance loop all evening.

If you're new to Seattle, queer, and feeling like the scene isn't really making room for you — try CCs. It made room for me.“

“Super great, fun, energetic bar! Bartender Mark is awesome and nice! If you're looking for karaoke this is the place to be at. I'm not usually a singing type person but I felt very comfortable here and didn't mind singing in front of everyone. If you're looking for a first stop or your last come check it out! Bartenders are very friendly I think one was being trained but he didn't just BS my drink he asked to make sure he knew what he was doing. Very friendly bar.“

“THE NEW R PLACE!! Love the space, the people, and the music. Truly loved the vibe and it was reasonably priced ($15 for a Thursday night entry). Don't hesitate while you're in Cap Hill to check out this place - very strong queer presence.“

“Mad Pub is a staple in the LGBTQ+ community in Seattle. The owner is lovely and really cares about his business. Come here on local sports days and you’ll get an amazing and fun experience that brings community together. Shout out to long term bar tender Jeff for being so cool and good at what he does - and also, his photography, you’ll find it throughout the bar!“
