50 Best American Restaurants near Vashon

“Alright. I have been hesitating to write this review, selfishly. I have eaten all over northern Italy, France, US etc.

This is better than any food in West Seattle /Seattle. Period.

The ambiance is cozy and non-pretentious, the staff is kind and welcoming. EVERY dish was on point. The shishito peppers (usually prepared super charred but this was the perfect texture) The truffle arancini balls (OMG..), the Quinoa kale mushroom salad ( Um. Wow. ) The Rockfish (Cooked perfectly and the texture of the batter was so light and airy. This is something really hard to pull off. ) By the time my husband and I tried the sticky toffee pudding ( Ridiculous) I started laughing because I knew that was it.... Once more people find out about this place we will have to be prepared for waits-- P.S well worth it. Nice job. Can't wait to try more. Compliments to the Chef and Team. Touche', Ramble.“

“We Love Ruby Brink! Burger night—say no more…! The beef dip sandwich on the lunch menu is another favorite. We love eating here for so many reasons though. This isn’t a “high staff turnover” type restaurant where you’ll be greeted by stressed out workers plastered with fake smiles fighting over tables like you might be used you. This is a grown-up establishment with grown-up food and grown-up and experienced, competent and empowered staff and I appreciate how this dynamic expressed itself in terms of guest experience. When I say that the food is grown-up I mean that it is carefully selected and prepared from scratch and this means it does not taste like what other restaurants are doing, which often is buying bags of frozen soup and sauces from the chef supply store to keep costs down and to keep everything tasting exactly the same, every time. You will taste different things here and that might surprise you. Ready yourself for that and enjoy!“

“I discovered this place today. It is, hands down, some of theeee best food I have eaten in Washington state. It is a spectacular blend of flavors and seasonings with 5 star presentation. My 4 year old obliterated the duck 🦆 sammich!“

My server, Lillian, was very nice and the fish & chips were probably some of the best I've ever had (super crunchy and the slaw is yummy!). “I Was taking a ride around Vashon with some other people one day and happened to stop in for lunch. The burgers were delicious and fries were excellent as well! I honestly Could not have asked for a better quick affordable lunch. Also The atmosphere was American as it comes !

The wings are tasty, the sunday cheesesteak is dynamite. they serve a terrific smoked old fashioned and many drinks on the cocktail list are spectacular. throw in friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere and you’re all set! love this place.“

“My daughter and her wife treated me to lunch here on Galentines Day. I highly recommend! The menu is a great mix of Mexican food, American food (I had a Denver omelette which was excellent), sandwiches and burgers and a great selection of sides. I highly recommend the baked brussels sprouts with bacon and a tasty glaze which we all shared. They serve beer and wine and a wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages. Compliments to the chef! Wendy our server was super sweet and attentive. It's a small, clean place with a chill vibe. Give it a try....you won't be disappointed!“

“We had an anniversary celebration here with family and got seated in the tent room-perfect since we met at camp and our first kiss was in a tipi. It was a vibe and so fun. Our waiter was very attentive and chatted it up with us. Apps and cocktails were delish and our entrees were good. Definitely order the S'mores-it just completes the whole experience.“

“Overall, another excellent experience at Jak's!! Our server, Paige, was exceptional...efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu! Our food had a mixed review..The country fried steak was delicious, as always, and the French Dip sandwich was the best! The person who had the French Dip couldn't stop raving about it! The steak salad and steak and eggs were good but both diners felt the steak in both dishes was tough, not the norm for Jak's. All four diners will definitely return, love the new home!!“

“I've come to this place since I was 11 years old, the food is the same the place is the same. If you are looking for good food good price with little to no fuss this is the place for you. I especially liked that I went in and ordered my food separate. The guy taking my order changed my option to the meal making the whole thing $8.00 less. He did not have to do that, I would have paid for the food separately but he went out of his way to make it more affordable for me.

I'm not sure if mom and pop have any employees, I've only seen what I assume is a husband and wife duo knocking out some delicious food.
If the sun is out and/or it's the weekend, it's probably going to be busy, otherwise food comes out fairly quick. If I don't stop for a bite, I'll usually grab a cone and a coke.“

“Went there tonight and it was packed since it was football playoffs. We had outstanding service, Everytime a glass got close to empty someone came to ask if we wanted a refill. The food was outstanding as well. I ordered a custom made sandwich and even though they were crazy busy it came out hot and exactly as I ordered. Love this experience. Will be back!“

“I got a burger, some fried, and a couple of Rainiers. I appreciated that even though it was a bar, and a sports bar at that, that the music wasn't too loud. The food was delicious though the burger was a tad smaller than id like, but it was juicy and cooked perfectly. My only real gripe is that I was meeting a large group and found that they only had one space setup to accommodate such a number, which was their square corner nook by the front door.“
