“Madras Cafe is an absolute gem of a restaurant! The owner warmly greeted us when we came in. He asked if we had ever eaten there before and when we said no kindly explained the menu. He asked our preferences and made personal recommendations for each member of our group. The food was EXCEPTIONAL! I never write reviews but knew instantly I needed to share my experience. The foods were flavorful and the spices vibrant. I have to mention the coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, then you are about to be ruined for all other coffee. It was smooth and rich. Reminded me of French press but better. The prices are reasonable and fits into any budget. The owner explained how each dish was best eaten and shared a charming story about how his mother's cooking influenced the restaurant's menu. I have never felt so welcome and at home in a restaurant. I highly recommend.“

“Under new ownership. I ate there with my wife, and my son and his wife. The food and service are excellent, everyone at the table agreed. We all had different dinners, a lot of depth in the menu. The guacamole is absolutely great. I can’t wait to try their food with Margaritas as well, we had flavored tea in the interim. A lot of restaurants are noisy inside yet this was not the case here. Next time we will try eating outdoors.“

“LOVE this restaurant. I wish it was there when I lived in the area 20 yrs ago. I still get there a few times a year. I really enjoy the blackened shrimp tacos. The service has always been wonderful and consistent. The manager stops by the table a QUICK check in. That small touch means so much!! Yesterday I had the lemon cake for dessert friend's had the gluten free chocolate cake. We were all in HEAVEN!! My second time there a couple years ago we had a server who was maybe having an off day. I talked to the manager on my way out & he was sincere & grateful I had let him know.“

“Now called Brunch Box. Same as Schreiner's mostly, but new owner. Had a spectacular pot roast lunch with real mashed potatoes, not instant. Tender and 3/4 inch thick. Great taste. It was the special for the day. Prices are very competitive. There's an error on the menu for coffee. It's $2.50, not $3.50.“

“It's our go to good Asian food spot when we're looking for a dine in. We always get good service, I love their Phet Phet sauce, and I think their drink menu has the funnest names I've ever come across. They also serve coconut water that compliments most of their foods perfectly“

“This breakfast joint? Not half bad! Sure, it's a bit cozy, but the art and decor certainly added some charm. The grub was alright, didn't exactly make my taste buds do a happy dance. But hey, the staff were lovely and the place was spotless. All in all, a pretty decent experience.“

“Pretty decent place but if you've had hibachi at other places, it's not the same. There's a lot of nickle and diming, which I didn't really care for, but overall the whole experience wasn't that bad. I wish they had the full hibachi menu for just regular seating though because I really didn't need it cooked in front of me.

The sushi is delicious here. Very fresh. I would come back for this for sure.

The hibachi left a lot to be desired. The chef cut the shrimp in tiny little pieces for some reason so it was just unnecessarily overcooked. It was also the only thing seasoned correctly. It seems like the bulk of the flavor they rely on is like a ginger soy and butter, but it's missing some key seasonings. For example, many hibachi places will use garlic powder or garlic butter, which kind of brings it up the extra level. All of the food was kind of meh in terms of seasoning. Normally you can kind of make up for that with sauces, but the mustard thing they had was way too harsh, pungent, and bitter. The ginger sauce was basically what the food was cooked with already. I know yum yum sauce is not authentic, but this food kind of needed it. However, the chef did a good job with the cook of everything so it was still pretty alright. I also wish we could just sub for fried rice for half the price of adding it on. I really didn't need both white and fried rice. The price of all of the meats is really high. I've paid less in much larger cities. I also didn't understand why the shrimp is so much more expensive than everything else, but I'm glad I didnt get it in the end because it would've been overcooked.“

We reserved a room with one of the party packages, which included a ranch hand, pizza, ice cream, drinks, gift bags and arcade cards for each kid, and very accommodating staff. Nick is always friendly and provides great service every time we visit.“

“Back in Appleton on Oct. 25th, visiting from Houston Texas. Always first on my list is to dine at the Red Ox. As always - never a disappointment. John and team continues to deliver high quality food and drink. Started with the King Crab legs- melt in your mouth. The Prime Rib - so tender you can cut it with a fork, In my opinion the Red Ox serves the best Prime Rib in the state of Wisconsin! Hat's off to Jordan (John's Son) his genuine hospitality with the guests is something special - hard to find these days. Don't forget the Grasshopper for your after diner drink. If your a Bourbon drinker make sure you try the Red Ox's private barrel select Elijah Craig, great before or after dinner! Johnny keep up the good work! Tommy T. from H-town.“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Appleton area. However, I was disappointed with the front-desk folks’ lack of creative thinking and can-do attitude. When I called before arriving, I mentioned the number of people in my party and mentioned that I will also need a high chair. He said nothing available inside but patio is open and lots of seats are readily available. When we arrived, he was right, nobody was sitting in the patio. Bad news came after we were taken to our table, “sorry, we don’t have high chair available for at least another hour!” I understand that this may happen, but why do you tell me 5 mins before I arrive that you have everything available? Very disappointing, but this is even more disappointing when it comes from one of my favorite restaurants and I had guests with me.“

“Wonderful food! Palak Paneer, and Lamb Masala are top notch! Their Darbar Vegetable Platter is fantastic - the Paneer Pakoras are always excellent! We have been eating here for many years, and it is always excellent, fast, and most of all, consistent!“

“The food was good, but wasn't worth the price. The steaks are overpriced because of the name. I think the worst part is you spend all that money and the only thing you get is a tiny house salad. For the amount of money you spend you should get standard side dishes. Good but grossly overpriced. It's a place you should go to once to say you have gone.“

“The food here is always on point 💯 So happy they added PHO to the menu! That’s always our go-to dish including the crystal shrimp. My kiddos loved it and gave it INFINITY out of 1 😆 they said the food was FANTASTIC! This is also the only place in Appleton closed a little later on a Sunday that has pho on their menu as well. All other pho places are closed by 7pm.“

“We came in with a large group of softball girls and they were willing to accommodate our group, were fast and on top of everything! The food was great, drinks were great, and the owner was super nice!

Kid-friendliness: The owner was so sweet! Our softball girls were trying to win ducks. She put in money for them and gave them some tips! She was super and very appreciative! Will definitely come back when we play in the area!“

“I've only done pick-up twice through eat street, keep in mind no set times to pick up. However as soon as you order it's done in 10 minutes. Got home bit into one of the eggs rolls and it's probably the best egg rolls I've ever had. On top of that the house rice and crab ragoons are amazing! I love this place!“

“Excellent food and service. Amazing meatless mayhem veggie burger/sandwich. Delicious sides (especially the homemade onion rings, fried apples, brussel sprouts, sweet potato planks!) Fresh tasty salmon. Great options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Had great service from the bartender and the outdoor dining area seating area is comfortable and relaxed. Highly recommend!“
