“I stopped by here on a whim last Saturday night because a friend recommended it to me. it's a quaint little joint in a 'middle of nowhere' kinda town. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in. Not too big, well lit and a friendly crowd. I was told that I had to try the food. Whenever I first try a new place, I usually try a burger of it's on their menu. Lots of smoked meats are available here as well! Brisket, ribs, wings etc. Quite the selection! I got the bacon cheeseburger and omg! It was BANGIN!! Come hungry too cause it's a half pound of mouth watering beefy deliciousness! The crinkle cut fries are an awesome addition to this monster burger as well. 😋 I ended up staying longer than expected as some people that I knew showed up and it was worth it! Great time here. I'll definitely be back (if they allow me) Did I mention the awesome bartender? 😎 Highly recommended.”

“we chose Blackbird Bakery for our daughter's wedding because they were very quick to respond to emails, the cake was moist and delicious, and the price was very reasonable. They also had gluten-free options for our guests with allergies.The tiered cake was just breathtaking, our guests commented on how beautiful it was. The vanilla sheetcake with strawberry buttercream was also a big hit. I would absolutely recommend this bakery, and hope to use them again in the future.”

“First visit back in 40 years and still has the same atmosphere as back then. Diverse menu options, lunch specials, friendly service, good food. Glad we decided to revisit after a long absence. one caution: CASH ONLY. That was a surprise when we went to pay as there was no mention of it anywhere ..not on the menu, not by the cashier. Lucky I had enough cash to cover the bill as often it’s credit card only for this patron.”

“We were here this weekend & ordered our usual breakfast sandwiches & I had Chai Tea. Today, I ordered the most delicious Mushroom Brie soup (I know, who wants soup in the summer, but so good!!) I also ordered the Turkey Club & could only eat 1/2 of a 1/2. It was the best Club sandwich & on sourdough bread!! PS my birthday was Saturday & my grandkids got me the wonderful homemade Blueberry pie, the only thing I ask for every year!!! Thank you to Bodi’s for being the best place around!!!💕🥧🍰🍩🥪”

“Highly recommend! Wow. What an experience at The Vegas Cafe in Antioch, Illinois. The food and drinks were excellent. We had the stuffed French toast, a skillet, pancakes, strawberry waffles, and a breakfast wrap. For drinks, we ordered hot chocolate and iced tea and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is truly amazing. From the hostesses to our server to the bussers, everyone was hardworking, kind, and genuinely caring. You could feel it right when you walked in. They wanted you there and treated you so well. Then there is the owner, Helen. She is an absolute gem. She introduced herself and spent time talking with us about her family, the business, and getting to know us. Even before she mentioned she was the owner, you could tell by the way she carried herself and interacted with guests. She clearly cares about her staff and her customers. When Helen found out we were there celebrating my mother’s birthday, she went above and beyond. My mom is still talking about it. We are so thankful to our server Callie, the owner Helen, and everyone at The Vegas Cafe. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.”

“I want to begin by saying that we love this place. BUT, the service and food were just horrible. My husband's wings were good but my nachos were terrible. The lack of beef was covered up with lettuce and triple helping of sour cream. I left hungry. We usually stay for more than 1 drink, but I had to get out of there due to a very miserable child screaming for its mother to pay attention to her. Just an overall unpleasant experience.”

During a recent visit, a live singing group added a festive touch, infusing the space with genuine Christmas cheer without overwhelming the intimate atmosphere. “First of all, Simon’s a great host who also loves to make software. We’re here all the time, and our team loves coming to Open Mic to work, be creative, and meet with clients. It’s a comfortable, welcoming space that naturally sparks good conversations and cool ideas—some of our best ideas have come out of brainstorming sessions in this spot. Sometimes we’re heads-down getting work done, sometimes sketching things out, sometimes picking up a guitar or playing a little piano between sprints. Great coffee and tea, a relaxed creative vibe, and always something interesting going on. It’s one of our favorite spots in Lake County, Illinois.”
