“Nice old-school supper club. We went for the Friday night fish fry, which was good. The coleslaw was homemade that day but what really blew my socks off were the potato pancakes. So good! I could almost make a meal of those alone. Make sure to order those as your potato option. Service was good and we liked the ambiance. Will visit again.“

“Stopped in for lunch on our road trip. Great tenderloin sandwich and fries. Husband ordered a coffee. It came in a black cup and was literally just hot water. Not sure if the coffee machine was working correctly or if the waitress didn’t know how to use it? Other than that, our food was good, service was great!“

“If you are passing by or a local stop in. We have recently discovered this place (after many recommendations) The quintessential Wisconsin road-side bar. The waitress (damn I can’t remember her name) is so friendly. The food is great, the best pizza around. Had a prime rib Saturday, it was perfect to my specifications. The feel is def north woods. Very homey and comfortable. We went there 3! times in 10 days. Have yet to sit at the bar but will soon. 5 ⭐️“

“Walked in today place was packed, waited to get a lane for 5 people and was only 20 mins. Had friendly service and tried a pizza, was the best pizza I have had in a long time! I thought it’s a bowling alley pizza but no it is probably one of the best pizzas in the area! Very impressed. Heard a few customers compliment the kitchen on the burgers too. Next time we will try one of those. Staff was great and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Haven’t been there in years and can’t wait to come back! “Great food. Servers are friendly and bring family friendly atmosphere to your table. Get an old fashioned at the bar while you wait. Once you are seated, we love the onion loaf with a side of ranch. Steak comes out sizzling (I recommend upgrading to the filet and getting shrimp scampi with the Italian potatoes). Finish off with a brandy alexander or grasshopper.“

“My husband and I were told this bar was a great place to have dinner and drinks. I will say we were not disappointed. Bar staff was very friendly, we never had to wait for a drink and the bar was well occupied. Food was good. I ordered a bacon blue cheese burger, yum! Bun was nice and soft but toasted on the inside. We ordered homemade potato chips one order spicy one one order parmesan. They were a little salty, between the two of them I preferred the Parmesan. Overall a great experience. Rip the bartenders well they are great!“

“We ordered the pub and grub, ham cheddar, chili cheese fries? I can’t complain that much it was just ok. The only thing I will complain about is the burger being over cooked. The chili cheese fries hands down was the best and I will be back for that and to try something different. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.“

“Update; ate there this evening and things have slipped a bit. Ordered ribs and BROILED shrimp, hash browns. Where to start....food was not hot, only warm, broiled shrimp didn't happen, instead breaded fried shrimp, the ribs had a hard crust on the top and meat was stringy like pulled pork gets. Every thing tasted, just ok. Things here have slipped from previous experience. Changing my rating to a 3.5Would have given a 4.2 if that has Ben possible. The food was quite good with a fairly broad menu. Service was friendly and fast. Salad bar was a nice touch but the sliced eggs has seen much better days.Overall, a place I would return to when looking for reasonably good food at fair prices. Enjoyed my meal.“

“If ever in Portage Wisconsin and hungry this is the place to go and have a great meal with awesome service.In the late '90s our daughter after her moving to Madison and I started meeting there for lunch.Later my brother moved back to Wisconsin and we had many trips back and forth to the VA hospital in Madison for him. He also had a stop always on the way back.He is no longer with us and neither is my husband yet same thing with him always had to stop to eat there.Now 20 some years later and had been a while but met my daughter again for a nice meal.Nothing has changed except he did have a fire that had to remodel a bit but the service along with the food was just as outstanding as ever.Anyone I know going from Northern Wisconsin south I always mention you want some good food to stop at Dino's in Portage Wisconsin.Being there last week brought back memories also and I'm thankful to have added a new one.“

“My sister came to town and we wanted to do dinner with my mom and aunt. Red Apple is my aunts favorite place! The service was amazing and super friendly.The menu is pretty typical family restaurant items. A range of breakfast to traditional dinners. Portions of the dinners were large. 2 people in our party ordered the chicken alfredo and 3 of us ordered burgers/sandwhich items and none of us were able to clear our plate. They do serve breakfast all day!My only complaint was the water tasted gross. So I suggest ordering a soda or juice. (A small disclaimer, I only drink filtered water.)I was very impressed by the staff and their friendliness and attentiveness to all the tables.“
