“We were going to a show at the arena, was hoping to eat at the restaurant there, but the cook didn’t show up. Was recommended Sherman House. Was told they have amazing food. We were able to sit at the bar to eat as there was a line. The waitress took our order and I mentioned we have a show! Well our food was out to us in a very short time, and it was so delicious, I had the tenderloin sandwich and my husband had the Sherman burger. Definitely going to come back when we can stay longer to enjoy the fish fry!“

“We had a really large group of family members (about 20 people total including adults & kids) to celebrate my dad's 89th Birthday on Wed Nov 20th, 2024. We had a reservation for 5pm & when we arrived, they had our table all setup & ready for us. Our Waitress (Amelia) was at our table immediately with a big smile & a very warm & friendly welcome. Our Waitress (Amelia) was an absolutely FANTASTIC Waitress, one of the best that we've dealt with in many years! As we were all getting settled in, we had a few surprise visitors that joined my dad's birthday celebration. Our waitress (Amelia) was right on top of everything & she immediately added another table to make sure that everyone was comfortable while eating their meal & didn't feel like you were being crammed in like sardines while eating. In addition to that, Amelia went out of her way to accommodate my dad by making sure that he felt extra "special" while celebrating this 89th Birthday of his. She got him a "special" cocktail (yes, a bit of a boozy one, which he really liked) in addition to a Root Beer Float to enjoy after he had enjoyed his Birthday meal. I was watching my dad with that Root Beer Float & he was thoroughly enjoying that! All the adults in our group ended up getting the All You Can Eat Fish Fry for $9.99 per person (or maybe it was even less than that, I'm not sure, because someone in our group paid for everyone's meal!). OMG it was absolutely amazing ~ everything was very FRESH & HOT. The Seasoned French Fries were delicious, and the Tatter Tots were the bomb! We had the BEST TIME EVER thanks to our amazing Waitress (Amelia) who went out of her way to make sure that EVERYONE in our group was taken care of. She was so much fun; she has a great sense of humor, and she fit right in with our "wild n crazy" family! By the time we left that evening we were saying that our Waitress (Amelia) was "Our Sister from another Mister" & we asked her if she was going to join all of us for Thanksgiving!! Thanks again for making my dad's 89th Birthday so "special" for him. I think he felt like a BIRTHDAY KING for the night!!“

“We stayed at this hotel after a Packers game. The location is convenient and hotel was very nice. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The restaurant and bar were closed that evening, but she helped us to be comfortable at a table in the lobby/cafe area, where we ate our take-out pizza (West End Pizza across the street is a great place to get pizza!). The room was clean and comfortable. There was a lot of storage space and drawers for clothes if you’re staying for more than a night. The mini fridge and microwave were convenient. I would recommend staying here.“

“We were looking for a new place to try and could not be happier that we decided on Jansen's. It's a small, mom and pop type place with a friendly, casual atmosphere. We were greeted right away and sat in the dining area. Service was fast and friendly by both the bartender and waitress. To start, we had the combination platter that came with HUGE portions of chicken strips, shrimp, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, cheese curds, and battered mushrooms. Entrees were Perch and Chicken Alfredo - again, large portions for each. The food was amazing. Perch was fresh and lightly breaded with great tartar sauce. The Alfredo was from scratch and 100x better than your typical Alfredo at any chain restaurant. The waitress checked in on us several times, was very observant, and anticipated what we needed before we even needed it! The kitchen manager and cook came to thank us for coming in and made sure everything was to our liking, which was really nice. If you're looking for a comfortable, casual, friendly, and delicious spot to try, this is definitely it! This was by far the best customer service I've had at a restaurant in Oshkosh since I moved here 6 years ago.“

“I’ve decided to try Beckets mostly because they were advertised on Discover Oshkosh as the host of Jazz Night on Wednesdays.
I tried calling to make a reservation but unfortunately my hotel phone didn’t want to cooperate and my UK mobile disliked the idea of dialling US numbers for whatever reason. So instead I chose to email them with the request and to my surprise I’ve received a response within 15 minutes. Well, certainly can’t complain about that!
On arrival we were greeted with a smile and taken to our table.
The decor of the place is rather modern, fairly simple lines and nice colour tones that work well together. Lovely view of the river and good live jazz music on Wednesdays. Toilets, although looking a little bit tired (old tiles that have been painted over) are clean and in good condition.
We were served by young Will and let me tell you something about Will. He’s quite an energetic and enthusiastic young man, very helpful and friendly and certainly knows his local beers! He helped us pick the right beers that went very well with our meals.
The food is very tasty and presented just like you see it in the pictures, it’s like looking at the culinary photoshoot but in real life on your plate right in front of you. Steaks were perfect! And so was the salmon! Chef certainly knows what he’s doing and takes pride in it too! Portions were just right, not too little, not too much.
Overall absolutely fantastic experience!
Let’s face it, Oshkosh as a city hasn’t got much to offer and isn’t really a dream holiday destination but Beckets certainly kicks it up a notch and makes it that much better! In my opinion this restaurant is number 1 in Oshkosh and definitely worth visiting!“

“Partial to Patty melts and theirs did not disappoint. Good bread, grilled in butter, not some nasty oil. Plenty of cheese and a good beef patty. Service was timely and friendly. “Came to this place in 1993, had the best time on my trip of the USA from Australia, took me ages to find my hotel the Pioneer inn, got stuck at the rail crossing with some long train a thought I was never gonna get back to the hotel until the sun came up. Good memories.“
