My kid lost a little laminated person they’d created, probably worth 10 cents, but it meant the world to them and the hosts tried looking for it. They couldn’t find it, but said they’d let the manager know. It’s such a minor thing, so I figured it would be forgotten, but that night I received a call from Brianna. They’d found it during their deep clean. She said they were closed, but she’d leave it in the office for me. It meant the world to us! Thank you!!! Great food and drinks are wonderful, but the staff will keep us coming back!“

“My husband and I have been coming to this eatery since it reopened under new ownership with Carlos who had formerly been the cook at the North Avenue Grill for several years. Though we will not be returning customers to this eatery, it's no reason for me/us to discourage others from eating here. The food is delicious. It's served hot and fresh. And we also prefer to do business with small businesses such as the Midtown Grill. But on our last recent visit, and this was not the first mishap, my food was not served as I had ordered, but I didn't complain. On this last visit, I didn't complain either, but I did exclaim to our wait person that I was unhappy with my platter. The Huevo Ranchero eggs were, and I had asked for two, instead of the three, overcooked, and it was too salty for me to enjoy. Well, as I watched the wait person walk away, I noted that the server engaged the cooks re: my food and from their body language it was obvious that my constructive critique was not received in good form. Shoulders were shrugged, and this implied to me that they didn't care. This behavior told me everything I needed to know re: my customer satisfaction. This is unfortunate because we enjoyed coming to this laid back eatery. We were provided a discount of which I DID NOT ask for, and I tried to explain to the server that it wasn't necessary, but I was left speaking to their back as they chose to walk away. This behavior towards me was rude and disrespectful. If an establishment does not want need or want your business, the wait staff can certainly help to make or break a customer's spirit.“

“I only order the "Jalapeno Popper" from Mac's in Brookfield. Over half the time I order it they don't put in any jalapenos or they put in next to none. How hard is it to properly make this dish? It is super hard to add jalapenos to the JALAPENO popper? After the 3rd order it happened I brought it back. The manager stated, I quote, "There are jalapenos all up in there" while pointing to two small pieces in the ENTIRE DISH. Done wasting my time and money with this location that can't make a simple Mac and Cheese. Pathetic.“

“Nestled between quarries in an industrial area is this beautiful little green oasis and farmstead. The ambiance alone is worth a visit. The food and service make it the perfect place for lunch. Homade soups, breads, and deserts are exceptional. Much better than any chain and is comparatively priced. The day we were there, soup was cream of Jalapeno. I'd go back for this alone. Beautifully spiced yet not too hot.“

“We really loved our experience at Highlands Cafe today. We’ve never had a bad experience or food, but today was particularly exceptional as it was the first time we brought our boys (2 years and 11 months). We had promised our 2 year old ice cream with breakfast as where we were originally going to go, they have malts. Much to our surprise they were closed, cue the toddler meltdown 🫠 Highlands cafe to save the day! No wait, they made a “special ice cream drink” right away for our 2 year old (chocolate milk with whip cream and sprinkles) and he could not have been more happy. The food was excellent to boot! And a mimosa and bloody for mom and dad 🥰 We will definitely be back often. Thank you Highlands Cafe for your hospitality, kindness, patience, and grace ❤️🫶“

You can walk into a relaxed, casual bar setting and enjoy dishes you’d typically find at a high-end, white-tablecloth restaurant. Our food was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. We tried the ribeye and the filet—both fantastic—but the king crab was the highlight, already cracked for easy enjoyment, which was a great touch! Even the veggies were delicious, and the bacon-wrapped shrimp… just wow. Special shout-out to Antonio, the cook, who absolutely nailed it! Watching all the deliciousness cooked right in front of us was a treat in itself. It’s amazing what comes out of that small kitchen—Antonio works magic in there! The cocktails were just as impressive. My Rye old-fashioned was smooth and balanced, and my wife’s mule was spot-on. The entire experience was excellent. If you’re looking for an amazing meal in a laid-back atmosphere, get over to 4th Base! Highly recommend!“

“I went in there around 5:00 pm and the pastrami was sold out. I usually make my own corned beef, but decided to try his. He recommended grilled rye with brown mustard, so that's what I ordered. A bag of chips and a pickle spear came with the sandwich. As I was leaving I turned back and said "This is heavy". When I got home I put the sandwich on my food scale. It weighed 18 ounces. It was the best corned beef I've ever eaten. I've been to Jakes on the north side, but this was better. There was so much that I had to force myself to finish it. I've lived in the area for over 6 years (he's been here around 4 years) and I never noticed his place. He needs to get the word out.“

“For DECADES, the Gerndt Extended Family has patronized and enjoyed getting together at Family Table. It was my Parents' favorite place to go and they were very regular customers there. When in town and since I moved back here from Ioea to help care for my parents in their last years, they lived to 95 with Alzheimers, up until the very end I took them to Family Table where we were always treated very well. We especially love the portions having another meal or two to take home, and previously free desserts with the meal which understandably due to the economy even many years ago, that bonus was stopped. But we still love there dessert assortments with me loving their Strawberry Cheeseake! My daughter and I especially carry on our Family Tradition at Family Table, getting together with my son and his wife, my sisters, my nieces, friends. We would love to see them open again on Sundays as it was a great place to go after Church. Hopefully they can get staff to open Sundays again. Even during the Pandemic we loved the way they all learned and properly wore their masks as we continued to patronize Family Table using their carry-out, especially their Friday Night Fish Fries which are spectacular!!! Today, my sister and her husband are here from Lake of the Ozarks near Camden, MO, and where did sister invite us to meet? Yup. Family Table! Great Food, Reasonable Prices, Large Portions, Excellent Service, Wonderful, Comfortable Relaxing. Quaint Atmosphere. I had the Pork Chops Special, w Pork Chops fried covered in mushroom onions gravie meal which included my Baked Potato with Butter and Sour Cream, Salad, and Corn. Super Delicious!!! Every one else's meals were delicious as well. Ehen my Dad and Mom passed away, i told the Manager and staff and they remembered them well and would miss them. I have not been able to frequent the Family Table for several months due to medical issues, but as things get better I/we will be back for sure on a regular basis. Thank you Family Tanle Management and Staff! Great Timrs! I don't think there's a booth or table that we have not sat at through the decades.“

“Nostalgia wins! We stopped in because I was so surprised to see a real George Webb's, especially one that was open! The staff was small, only one woman server and one man cooking. But they knocked it out and everyone was getting food fast and everyone seemed content. The biscuits and gravy were excellent. The omelette, chili, and hash browns were classic GW. We definitely wanna come back, it just takes you right back to better days before the internet or before covid. I'm so glad that this GW exists. Cozy nostalgia at its best. And everything tasted great. Who needs Waffle House? This is Wisconsin. We love our GW.

Parking: It's right on a busy major street, but the parking is limited. Not sure about street parking. It's a tight fit, but parking is available.
