“I would like to give appreciation to the staff working at the Sussex location at 1pm today. I come to this location pretty often, maybe a bit too much lol and they always get everything 100% correct and have fantastic service. Today they went above and beyond. I usually order my drink with no ice and today I forgot to ask and they did it. I’m not sure if this was even intentional or not, but love them for that. If there’s any type of reward or something that even I can do to show my appreciation I would love to know! Thanks so much as always!!!!!“

“I started coming to Rumors about a month ago or so. My very first bartender was Allie. Allie made our whole experience so enjoyable, a total 5 stars. As a bartender myself, Allie was great. She’s personable, focused, and all around fun to have as your bartender. She’s the reason that I keep coming back and introducing new friends to this bar!“

“decent food. Friendly wait staff. Maybe 3.5 out of 5 stars for me. Only thing that I thought was odd is that you have to wait until your whole party has arrived before they will seat you. It's not a Bartolotta's restaurant, it's a bar. Only 4 of us looking for a regular 4 top table. They wouldn't seat us until the remaining 2 showed up. There were 11 open tables. The place was not packed. I thought that was strange.“

“Had a great brunch today! I’ve been here at least 7-8 times, and the food is consistently good. The wait staff are so attentive, and today Malita was our server and was so kind and thoughtful to me and my elderly mom. I had the breakfast sandwich with the Vegetarian burger. AMAZING“

“I had ate here tonight for the first time as we are from out of town. I am SO glad we found the 5 O’clock club. First, our server Melissa was amazing. Even though she was busy, she gave us the back story on the restaurant which made the experience that much better! How the OG Grandma Mary’s great grandson is now the chef, HOW COOL!! now for the food, I saw duck wings with a cherry sauce for an appetizer and immediately new I wanted to try them and I’m so glad I did. Probably a new favorite! Then I ordered salmon for dinner which was cooked perfectly and not to mention the French onion soup was to die for! We had 3 people at our table, everyone loved their food. Thank you all for a wonderful experience!! If I’m ever in the area, I will be back!!“

“First time here. Took a long bike ride with some friend and we were hungry for some ice cream.

Food:
When we first entered it didn't look like they had much in the way of ice cream. They had lot of different choices including cones, sundaes, and shakes. We ended up getting a couple of Turtle Sundaes, a PB Lovers Sundae and Pumpkin Shake. Took a few minutes, and had it delivered to the table. All of them were excellent. They looked great, had plenty of fillings, nice whip cream, and the cherry on top. It looked like it was made with care.

Service:
Not exactly sure, but I think the person waiting on us was the owner. Super friendly and helpful. Did a good job of explaining the different sundaes. Delivered the food to the table with a sense of urgency (don't want the whip cream to melt).

Atmosphere:
The place is part of a larger strip mall like building. It's on the end, and has an outside area with tables. It was a little cool, so we opted to sit inside. Big tables for groups of 4. Big windows with lots of natural light coming through. There were seveal other tables there, and people were having friendly conversations. The noise level was good.

Glad we stopped. We hear they have good burgers, so we will need to try those next time.“

“Have driven past for a long time and have always wanted to go. Chris was our server and he was absolutely wonderful. We had the Devil egg sandwich, Mac n Cheese, the farm Italian, broccoli cheese soup, and lemon cheesecake. All the food was great. The atmosphere is a really cool old building with exposed stonework and you feel like you have gone back in time. We accidentally left our leftovers there but will be back. Again shout out to Chris as he was one of the best servers we have had in a while. Checked on us consistently and made sure everything was to our liking.“

“Wonderful gem in Brookfield, off the beaten path. Perfect location, close enough to metro area,but far enough away to give it a friendly neighborhood bar feel. Staff are friendly, efficient and professional. Had a small get together there and it turned into a bigger party than expected. I was impressed by how the waiting staff were able to accommodate us and make everything work out, very impromptu ! The food is exceptional and priced reasonably. “I ordered rigatoni pasta with a grilled pork ribeye steak. I say the pasta noodles could have been cooked a little longer. Other than that, it was good. But that pork ribeye steak was amazing. I don't know if it was the little cup of butter, the pork steak itself, or the combo of both. I would recommend that grilled pork ribeye steak.“

I called the restaurant and was greeted by a girl named Maddison who was sincerely apologetic and assisted me well. She gave multiple option on what she could do but I ultimately chose to come in and have it be made fresh. Great customer service but wish I didn’t have to go back in the first place.
