“My husband an I tried them a while ago, and they have been a staple for lunch since. Their dill pickle soup is his favorite. and I cannot get enough of the California Club. My son gets the grilled cheese and we all like the friendly, come as you are atmosphere. My mom fell ill last month and passed earlier this week. And their comfort food is the only thing I've wanted. Warning ⚠️..They still use human calculators, not machines- so check the addition. If you show up when they open at 4pm (coming early means standing out in the cold), be prepared to be just another face in a large crowd. After observing guests enthusiastically enter, service staff with dreary "they're heeere!" frowns are obviously rushed to serve the masses and have little time to engage with the customers. All that said, our server was very personable and performed her job hurriedly with a smile. The hostesses deserve a special recognition for managing the wave of humanity after the doors open.”

“I stopped in for a bowl of chili and a burger. The bartender was new and working alone. She was very nice and talkative. The chili was kind of disappointing, maybe if it was served actually warm it would’ve been better. But maybe that big glob of sour cream cooled it off that much I don’t know. I ended up taking the burger home and split it with my dog. I kind of wish I ate the burger first. Even though the lady didn’t know what she was doing, I would go back to this bar just for a really relaxing place to chill and talk. The food was kind of pricey at $26 for a burger and chili and two drinks. So I’m probably going to not be going back there for lunch.”

“My Wife and I stopped by on a Sunday for some BBQ. A new guy was learning the ropes and was a great waiter and kitchen man. The owner was making great Old Fashioneds, and she talked me into the French Onion soup. The soup was thick and full of onions and seasoning. It was the best ever! My wife had the smoked prime rib sliders. Again, the best we've ever had. I had a great rack of ribs and great conversion with the owners and the other customers. We've been there a few times and it's always wonderful. Go there soon!”

“Very low key bar. All the bartenders I've had the pleasure of them pouring my beer are very nice. Beer prices are probably the best in Montello. They have a couple of really fun bar games. Pool table is only 50 cents. I always come here when I'm in the area.”

“I ordered a two layer 1/4 sheet birthday cake for my husband’s birthday. I requested a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and a fudge layer. It was the best cake ever! I loved how tall each layer was, the amount of fudge layer was just right, the frosting wasn’t too thick or thin, and the decorating was spot on. Everyone raved about it. If you don’t want to make your own cake, spend the extra amount and do not ever get a cake from a chain store ever again and instead get one from Kathleen’s Flour Bin! Thank you!”
