“With so many gyro spots all over mke and having tried a few of them already, went ahead and placed 2 orders of gyros. Pick up time was about 20 mins.This place has to be my top 3 I’ve ever had in various states. The meat is well seasoned and tender. The pita bread is soft but has a subtle grilled flavor to it. The gyros come loaded with meat and this place doesn’t skimp. The price is reasonable and can’t wait to try their jerk chicken pita that everyone raves about.“

“In the heart of the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee Campus scene. This is an icon from the 1980's. I was introduced to Oakland Gyros by a friend who went here in his college years. Great food, great prices, not fancy but just down to earth food and regulars with the occasional college students. Only drawback is parking on the street and you have to pay as the meters are active until late but not a problem.“

Some aspects is the decor and walls could use a good deep clean. Dust bunnies up on the cloth window coverings, and a few other places here and there. “We are not from the area and were looking for a quiet place to eat on a Friday afternoon after touring the Milwaukee Public Museum. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I was very impressed with the food. I got the veggie plate. The falafels were amazing. The hummus was to die for. It was so smooth. It rates 2nd best to the hummus my Lebanese friend makes. You know you've come to the right place when the people cooking and serving your food have an accent. Left feeling very excited to have discovered this hidden gem.“

“We went last week and I cannot wait to go back. The Horiatiki salad was so well dressed and had a giant piece of feta that melted into creamy goodness. Saganaki with honey peppered fig… amazing. Kataifi Prawns were beautiful and tasted even better than they looked. The pork was flavorful and so so tender and the Beef Ragout pie was perfect Greek comfort food. “All I can say is omg! Great value and food! Big portions. I got the fish and chicken combo and it was delicious. As a black woman I was afraid the seasoning wouldn’t be up to par but I was wrong! “Recently moved to the neighborhood so I was looking for a good place to walk to. This place honestly has it all. Great menu with variety, a bar, a large dining room, friendly staff. Now it’s not a “bar” that you can expect to find people getting drunk at hanging out until 2AM but it does have one! Cheri provided excellent service with a great attitude. I got a rueben and the chicken wings. The Reuben was awesome and the wings were fried to perfection (wingding style not grilled) . I brought some of the wings home and air fried them later and then tossed them in buffalo sauce. They were amazing. If you were looking for a restaurant with a low-key atmosphere and a great variety, then this is the place.“

“La Esperanza does a good taco dinner. Classic meal that can't really go wrong. Beans and rice are good. Waitress would check in frequently. Willing to ask cooks to accommodate meals.The dining area is clean and worth staying to enjoy your meal. The ambiance is almost homey.“

“It used to be a great Greek place, that had a big menu and some other kinds of food on the side.Now it's menu has a lot of kinds of food and some Greek stuff on the side.Food is good but far from great.I don't come here often anymore for a few reasons. They were 24hours then they started closing sometimes (I didn't find out when) so I was never sure of when they were open again. At some point in the past I went in and had a meal, the menu was cut down so much that the Greek food that this place was known for having all-day was not available. On top of that there was an automatic tip %, the wait staff at the time abused this because if the automatic tip was not there, the wait staff's own actions that day would not have gotten any tip. I think I left 2¢ that day and a bad comment card. I didn't go back for over a year I think (might have been longer).“

“Some of the best snacks day or night. Ate my food so fast I couldn’t get a picture, BUT great portions; one of the few places I end up with leftovers at. Produce has always been fresh and crisp, especially being a fast-casual joint. I go here on a weekly basis on the way home from work and usually only have time for the drive through and every time the staff is also upbeat and on their game. There was a mistake, on my end (bad communication), and they didn’t throw a “tude” or anything. Great service great staff, would definitely recommend.“

“This restaurant was amazing in every way. My only complaint is about a special request I wrote ahead about. We there for a celebration and they did not do for it what they said they would. Not a big deal but it was a huge accomplishment and it would have been nice to get the extra attention.“

“Ordered a #1 which was the gyro meal. It took less than 5 minutes to get my food. I was the only customer around 11:30am on a Monday which I should mention. About 6 other people came in after me to order. Fries were hot and fresh, gyro had plenty of meat in the pita and definitely hit the spot. I was super full eating that meal. Definitely would come again when in the area.“
