마루 Maru Korean Bistro Reviews
Good food and it came out really fast, great server too
The food tasted amazing and the presentation was great. I wish the matcha was higher quality and not a pre sweetened mix but it was still good and not too sweet. The dining area was very cute and tidy and the music was good. My only critique with the atmosphere is that the bathrooms had a really unpleasant odor. I would definitely come back another time when visiting Milwaukee.
My past 3 experiences were very good with Maru. It’s been a year or two since I ate here again. To my disappointment, the place is not how it used to be anymore. The restaurant is not cleaned throughly. There was food on the floor and ants around them. Spider webs on the window. The food dishes is overpriced for what you get now. They no longer serves side dishes and have the food come with the stone bowl. Now, you gotta pay extra for the stone bowl which I think is ridiculous....read full review

Maru Korean Bistro is a welcoming restaurant that offers a variety of Korean dishes in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The interior features a big four-way split TV screen, making it a fun spot for gatherings like KPop watch parties. The space is spacious, with enough room to avoid feeling crowded. The music selection is nice, adding to the enjoyable dining experience. Service is generally friendly and knowledgeable, with staff able to explain menu options clearly and provide quick service.
The food at Maru is highly praised for its taste and quality. The bulgogi is especially noted as being very good, with some reviewers mentioning it as the best they've had. Dishes like bibimbap served in a stone bowl and the Black Bean Tofu Ramen are described as tasty and fresh. The side of rice is fluffy, and sweet and sour dumplings receive positive comments. However, some reviews mention that the beef bulgogi could have less fat, and a few note that the food is okay but not outstanding.
While the restaurant does not offer complimentary side dishes like other Korean places, the overall dining experience remains enjoyable. The ambiance and music contribute to a pleasant visit, and many reviewers express their intention to return. Despite some minor issues with service and certain expectations, Maru Korean Bistro stands out as a good spot for Korean food in the Milwaukee area.
