There is a nice assortment of beautiful and interesting houseplants all year, and outdoor plants in season. Top it all off with some of the best espresso drinks I've ever had. My son gets the grilled cheese and we all like the friendly, come as you are atmosphere. My mom fell ill last month and passed earlier this week. And their comfort food is the only thing I've wanted. “First time trying the perch and walleye plates. It was delicious and the atmosphere is like your hometown bar. Drinks were awesome. My husband had an old fashioned and I had an amaretto sour. Eight taps on the wall, with many more selections in the fridge, and a small grill in the corner kicking out a solid bar food menu of sandwiches, wings, potatoes, and appetizers. The food is consistently great. The Beaver Burger was voted Best Burger in county. Owned and worked by a couple sassy ladies that add fun to the joint. I live in California but visit the Thirsty Beaver every single time I'm in the area - definite must-do!”

“I stopped in for a bowl of chili and a burger. The bartender was new and working alone. She was very nice and talkative. The chili was kind of disappointing, maybe if it was served actually warm it would’ve been better. But maybe that big glob of sour cream cooled it off that much I don’t know. I ended up taking the burger home and split it with my dog. I kind of wish I ate the burger first. Even though the lady didn’t know what she was doing, I would go back to this bar just for a really relaxing place to chill and talk. The food was kind of pricey at $26 for a burger and chili and two drinks. So I’m probably going to not be going back there for lunch.”

“My Wife and I stopped by on a Sunday for some BBQ. A new guy was learning the ropes and was a great waiter and kitchen man. The owner was making great Old Fashioneds, and she talked me into the French Onion soup. The soup was thick and full of onions and seasoning. It was the best ever! My wife had the smoked prime rib sliders. Again, the best we've ever had. I had a great rack of ribs and great conversion with the owners and the other customers. We've been there a few times and it's always wonderful. Go there soon!”

“I ordered a two layer 1/4 sheet birthday cake for my husband’s birthday. I requested a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and a fudge layer. It was the best cake ever! I loved how tall each layer was, the amount of fudge layer was just right, the frosting wasn’t too thick or thin, and the decorating was spot on. Everyone raved about it. If you don’t want to make your own cake, spend the extra amount and do not ever get a cake from a chain store ever again and instead get one from Kathleen’s Flour Bin! Thank you!”

“Very low key bar. All the bartenders I've had the pleasure of them pouring my beer are very nice. Beer prices are probably the best in Montello. They have a couple of really fun bar games. Pool table is only 50 cents. I always come here when I'm in the area.”

“Went here for breakfast the other weekend, was not disappointed. Had my favorite breakfast, biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. Bacon was perfectly cooked and I should have ordered bigger than the small biscuits and gravy. Will eat there again. Fairly new to the town and slowly trying nearby ”
