“This George Webb is outstanding, probably the best one I’ve ever been to. The people running it treat you like family, and you can feel the pride they put into everything they do. The food is fresh and made with care, a big difference from other Webb’s I’ve been to in recent years.

For me, this place is more than just a restaurant…..it’s personal. My grandmother used to take me to George Webb when I was a kid, and she passed away 10 years ago. Sitting here brought back those memories in a way I didn’t expect. The warm hospitality and quality food reminded me of those special times with her.

Prime rib sandwich is pillow soft, so flavorful and satisfying. Great garlic and herb butter seasoning on everything. I had a nasty respiratory infection a couple months prior, hadn't been able to taste much of anything for over two months... until coming here. I could taste the amazing flavor cooked into all of our items for the first time since getting sick. This was probably about the most satisfying dining experience I've ever had. “We go here all the time and the food is outstanding! Most times are for pickup, but we also eat in from time to time. The owner is there almost every time we go, and he is extremely nice and helpful. There was a mistake in my order one time, he fixed it immediately, which is all you can expect. We all make mistakes.
You have to try the cheese curds! But the burgers are good, lasagna is good, the filet is good, really everything is good!“

“Lovely long time diner located in Thurston Woods neighborhood. The Hoppel Poppel is excellent, as are the country fried steak and biscuits and gravy. Polishing off an already big, healthy meal, you can't resist their fresh cinnamon rolls.“

“We really loved our experience at Highlands Cafe today. We’ve never had a bad experience or food, but today was particularly exceptional as it was the first time we brought our boys (2 years and 11 months). We had promised our 2 year old ice cream with breakfast as where we were originally going to go, they have malts. Much to our surprise they were closed, cue the toddler meltdown 🫠 Highlands cafe to save the day! No wait, they made a “special ice cream drink” right away for our 2 year old (chocolate milk with whip cream and sprinkles) and he could not have been more happy. The food was excellent to boot! “I am always leary about hotel restaurants. Will it be good? Is it worth the added expense? YES! YES! in this case. Bar tender did a great job with the negroni and dirty martini. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, when we needed it!. We shared a wedge salad and each had soup-we were going to get lasagna but quickly realized we would hardly eat a bite-so our server gladly cancelled that part of our order. We found this place convenient-we were staying at the hotel and going to a concert at BMO but are now fans-i would consider returning. All aspects were better than expected!“

The cheese sauce was creamy and somewhat rich, but lacked what seemed like (to me) more nuanced, developed cheeses, or a more technical mornay sauce - rather relying heavily on what tasted like Velveeta or American products alongside maybe some dry seasonings, which can be great if you're craving it. Otherwise, the noodles were definitely a bit overcooked.

It can be a bit challenging to find exceptional mac since Fool's Errand closed, but in a pinch, Rod-n-Makk can get the job done.“

I was welcomed by the locals and had great conversation through my visit.The area is out in the country and can be tricky to find. Once I arrived, there was plenty of street parking as well as a lot in the back The inside was charming with a vintage vibe. Drinks were strong and their menu is lengthy. I ordered a cup of the soup which was styled after the Reuben sandwich. The corned beef was excellent. The soup is creamy and flavorful. I have tried to stop by again but they are only open Tuesday through Thursday. I wish I had checked the menu it because the reviews online show a fish fry but I'm not sure if that's available daily since they're closed on Friday? I hope you find out soon!“

“First time here was last Friday, Had the fish fry, and it was takeout, by the time I got home the food was still hot, juicy, and Outstanding!!!
