“We ate here before the Chris Young show in the middle of that dang snowstorm. It was our first time! From the minute we walked in and were greeted by the host staff and welcomed by our server at the bar, we already felt like we were being treated like royalty. You feel so welcomed, immediately. After a cocktail, our hostess came and found us for our reservation and we were seated at a cute window seat, overlooking the Christmas lights. Our server, Alex, was OUTSTANDING. I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed his company and his conversation. We were, again, treated like royalty. 1 billion out of 10 for all of the front of house staff...especially Alex. At this point, if the food was terrible I wouldn't have even cared. But. It. Wasn't. Calamari 10/10 (light batter and melts in your mouth), my Ceasar Salad 10/10 (the dressing was light and flavorful and I almost asked for a bowl of the croutons) I ordered a NY Strip medium rare, baked potato, mushrooms 10/10 (cooked and seasoned to perfection, at this point Ive eaten so much food I think I'm going to die, but I couldn't stop), my friend had the Queens Cut Prime Rib, baked potato, and asparagus 10/10 (again, cooked to perfection, super flavorful, and the asparagus was huge and delicious). Alex asks if we want dessert and I said I literally can't breathe. ...He came back with a chocolate mousse anyways...how he knew my weakness, I'll never know. So, go for the food and the staff. These folks are doing it so right. We can't wait to go back!!!!“

“Excellent service, excellent food. Some of our group had prime rib ( some of the best I have ever had anywhere), some had steak, some had fish. All said food was top notch. Had cheese curds and spinach dip appetizer. Wonderful. Strong drinks…nice change, and a best ever grasshopper. I wish we lived closer. We would come often! Happened in when having our family Christmas weekend. Wonderful place. Worked with our celiac guest without issue. Highly recommend!!“

“Went there with our 3 young kids and sat on the patio on a Monday , everything was excellent! The old fashioneds were delicious . Our kids ate two orders of the shrimp cocktail ! The ribs were so delicious along with their wedge salad !! Food is so much better than the over hyped ishnala . Looking forward to being in town again to eat here !!“

“Come friday nights for live group play good music to dance to. There food was really good I had 2 of tacos alpastor with cilantro and grilled onion with extra pineapple. And 1 taco asador we oder 2 tequila sunrise. Had an amazing night ? great way to end the night with the live music.

“Absolutely lived up to the hype. The property is gorgeous, the food and beverage quality was in line with expectations and the price point. But you just can't beat that view. We arrived at 430 and got on the wait list, which was about 2 hrs. We enjoyed the beach, walked a bit on one of the trails, and tried some of the signature cocktails. The Tipsy Canoe was perfect for the hot temps and the old fashioneds are expertly made. Love seeing the Old Fashioneds served counter at the front entrance. The escargot was well cooked, the bread was delicious, steak was barely over MR and still juicy and well seasoned, and the duck had a fun presentation! Only negative comment would be the cocktail service. We were at a table with 2 servers going around the area. Minimal awareness, trying to make eye contact and call someone over when I could, but after 40 minutes, we just went to the bar to grab our round.“

“We come to Jose’s every time I’m up here in Baraboo. Sometimes more than once in a weekend. The manager Maria is the best. She always makes sure to say hello and make sure your food is good. Andrea is also on the top of our list of favorite waitresses. We go to their trucks to eat and the Jose’s in hochunk is the best. Highly recommend.“
