“We ate here before the Chris Young show in the middle of that dang snowstorm. It was our first time! From the minute we walked in and were greeted by the host staff and welcomed by our server at the bar, we already felt like we were being treated like royalty. You feel so welcomed, immediately. After a cocktail, our hostess came and found us for our reservation and we were seated at a cute window seat, overlooking the Christmas lights. Our server, Alex, was OUTSTANDING. I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed his company and his conversation. We were, again, treated like royalty. 1 billion out of 10 for all of the front of house staff...especially Alex. At this point, if the food was terrible I wouldn't have even cared. But. It. Wasn't. Calamari 10/10 (light batter and melts in your mouth), my Ceasar Salad 10/10 (the dressing was light and flavorful and I almost asked for a bowl of the croutons) I ordered a NY Strip medium rare, baked potato, mushrooms 10/10 (cooked and seasoned to perfection, at this point Ive eaten so much food I think I'm going to die, but I couldn't stop), my friend had the Queens Cut Prime Rib, baked potato, and asparagus 10/10 (again, cooked to perfection, super flavorful, and the asparagus was huge and delicious). Alex asks if we want dessert and I said I literally can't breathe. ...He came back with a chocolate mousse anyways...how he knew my weakness, I'll never know. So, go for the food and the staff. These folks are doing it so right. We can't wait to go back!!!!“

“Excellent service, excellent food. Some of our group had prime rib ( some of the best I have ever had anywhere), some had steak, some had fish. All said food was top notch. Had cheese curds and spinach dip appetizer. Wonderful. Strong drinks…nice change, and a best ever grasshopper. I wish we lived closer. We would come often! Happened in when having our family Christmas weekend. Wonderful place. Worked with our celiac guest without issue. Highly recommend!!“

“House of Embers was a nice restaurant! Definitely very pricey but the food was good. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful! The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was more upscale but the decor was kind of all over the place. We ate indoors but there was live music on the patio.“

“We are born & bred Wisconsin, farm raised on steak, & have been blessed to have tried lots of supper clubs and restaurants across the state. Honestly, we were a bit doubtful when we first arrived at Ishnala. They’ve won best supper club and old fashioned for years. Best supper club - that’s a bold statement to make. But we were amazed. The hype is legit. They exceeded our expectations.

Best steak we have had. Best shrimp I’ve had (shrimp Ishnala), best old fashioned outside our home 😘. The breadbasket had a great surprise of cinnamon bread in addition to great dinner rolls. The view and history are spectacular. The owner is kind and thoughtful, it’s obvious he loves this place and values his staff. It’s was an amazing experience. They are best supper club & destination restaurant in the state, and we will drive 3 hours round trip to go again!“

“We come to Jose’s every time I’m up here in Baraboo. Sometimes more than once in a weekend. The manager Maria is the best. She always makes sure to say hello and make sure your food is good. Andrea is also on the top of our list of favorite waitresses. We go to their trucks to eat and the Jose’s in hochunk is the best. Highly recommend.“
