“It’s so nice to have a great restaurant in the area ! Great food, great service. I had the chicken parmigiana served with penne pasta. Very good sauce. The Italian lemon cake was made in house and to die for ! My server was Payton, she was very nice and very friendly. The owners are fantastic ! I highly recommend this restaurant. Ciao“

“Casual resort/motel on a beautiful big lake. We stayed one night and played golf. The food at the restaurant was very good. Nothing fancy but hits the spot. Rooms are very plain but it's a place to sleep. Didn't hear any neighbors. Golf was a lot of fun. The course isn't too hard but has some challenges and a mix of dog legs and elevation changes. A few holes on the lake which are nice. Hole 10 is awesome. The conditions are fine, not bad, not great, but the price is right for what you get. Don't think this will be a destination for me again but it was a fun time and recommend if you're in the area.

“I love this bistro!!! it simply is the best place in downtown Oakland to eat or have a cocktail or even sit and talk with friends. 206 offers a variety of cocktails that change with the seasons, as well as every classic cocktail you can imagine the food is second to none. You can see fresh ingredients come through the restaurant from the farmers market, and certainly taste the quality and caring that goes in every thing. I make it a point to stop here at least a few times a week. It doesn’t matter if it’s for breakfast, lunch dinner or for the entertainment/music they have never disappointed me. Everything is top notch, and the owners and staff are all friendly and fun to interact with! If you’re anywhere in downtown Oakland or walking up Alder Street, you do not want to miss this experience!!!“

“It was our first time here but wont be our last! Excellent service, food & atmosphere. The Mad Dog Dirty Soda was delicious & refreshing. My BLT was served on a perfectly toasted Kaiser roll with the most flavorful thick-cut bacon, crisp lettuce & juicy tomato. The fresh-cut shoestring fries were golden brown. My grandson actually ate his dinner & that's rare. He loved that he could draw on the table with chalk. He absolutely fell in love with the peacock & had a blast feeding him popcorn. A gorgeous country sunset ended the night in an amazing way. We cant wait to come back & try the pizza. Thank you for the wonderful experience. See you next time.“

“I’ve been going to The Liberty Restaurant at Camp Dawson for well over 5 years now, and it’s hands down one of my favorite spots to grab a bite when I’m here.

The burgers? Always on point—juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right every time. You can taste the care they put into it, not just something slapped together. The fries are crispy, golden, and never greasy—perfect sidekick to the burger.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. It’s got that comfortable, down-to-earth vibe that makes you feel at ease after a long day. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and they keep the place running smoothly.

And let me say this—the speed they get your order out is impressive. Even when it’s busy, I never find myself waiting long. It’s consistent, dependable, and that goes a long way when you’re on a tight schedule.

This was our first time here. Hanna was our server. She did a stellar job! Thank you, Hanna! The food was delicious. Thank you to the chefs! There were 3 of us. We all got the same thing. The zucchini platter, Filets, made medium, with loaded baked potatoes, and a side salad. Everything was made perfectly. Thank you, Monroe's for also making your side salad with romane lettuce! That is much appreciated. Restaurant looked clean, as well as the restroom. This may have been our first time here but, it certainly won't be our last! Cleaned plates, and very satisfied customers here! I highly recommend Monroe's!“

“Ashly was a great server and even helped us with a special menu item for the kids. Her smile was welcoming as this was our first time here and to Oakland. This diner tucked quietly inside the Motel is a gem of a diner. I had to try the liver and onions which was fabulous as well was the kids meal. We will be back and it’s worth the drive and the atmosphere was like stepping back in time to a genuine family style diner. Thanks for the service and the cooks deserve kudos as well.“

Given this location is also a diner, I expected a small room of antiques, or a couple shelves, but no: this is a full-on antique store! Big selection, a little busy, fine bathrooms (but you have to ask for a key, and it's through the employee lockers area lol). Definitely stop by if you're in the area.“
