“We live in Bragg Creek and there isn't any Chinese Food out this way so we thought we'd try this new Chinese Kitchen as it's only half an hour drive away. The food had a great taste with substantial portions; it was well worth the drive. We will definitely order from this restaurant again. The dumplings were big and juicy, the salt and pepper squid were crisp and spicy, and we loved the Sesame chicken and barbecue pork.“

“This is an old-school Cantonese Noodle House restaurant. There isn't anything flashy about this restaurant. The wok-hey was awesome, especially for their noodle and fried rice dishes. The staff were very hardworking and courteous. Prices and portions were excellent. The restaurant was drab and could be cleaner.“

“Dim sum here is probably one of the most unique in Calgary since they still use push carts, although if you want you can still order off menu. Basically you just look at what comes along and pick what you want to eat, think conveyor belt sushi (don't be afraid to get out your chair). The classic dim sum items are good. Cheung fun with shrimp is great and I personally prefer it over har gow since it is cheaper and tastes better but less shrimp filling. Can't really go wrong with any of the dishes here. Wait time around noon is usually between 5-15 minutes. Solo diners are also accepted here. The male cashier is always very friendly and has a good attitude.“

We decided to order the dumpling platter to share and order individual egg rolls, both were tasty dishes.

As we were getting ready to leave I decided to order the Wor Won Ton soup with extra noodles, as soon as I got home I noticed that there was very little broth and both containers were filled with the ingredients, total disappointment with the soup guess it's better to eat in than take out.“

So I found John Wong’s and they were so pleasant on the phone, they said they delivered and the food came right on time. The food was great. It tasted good, it was hot. Really enjoyed the meal from Fortune One! The fried rice was flavorful with a nice mix of veggies, and the stir-fried veggies were fresh and crisp. The sweet and sour chicken had a great sauce and tender pieces, paired well with the egg roll. The portion size was generous, and the included water bottle was a nice touch. Service was quick for takeout. Only minor gripe was that the egg roll could’ve been a bit crispier. Definitely worth a try for a tasty Chinese meal!“

“Wow! I wish I lived in Calgary! This place is amazing for Celiacs! It was such a treat to have a lot of choices and knowledgeable staff/owners! The food was delicious and it was such a fun experience because I felt very safe to eat! We ordered a variety of dishes (6) and the only thing I couldn't eat were the chicken balls! “A gem hidden inside a small plaza in Chinatown. Delicious and authentic Chinese dishes, great flavours and some unique choices you won’t typically find elsewhere in more mainstream restaurants. The service can be off putting for newcomers as the staff are very traditional Chinese and don’t offer the same type of service as your usual western dining spot. The restaurant itself doesn’t look particularly clean or tidy but not unbearable. It’s a quiet restaurant with a bunch of great food, prices are a bit high but worth it in my opinion. “Kingwell Roasted BBQ is our favourite place to go and satisfy our cravings for delicious Hong Kong style crispy roast pork and juicy bbq duck. We have tried a few items on their menu and everything tasted amazing especially the KingWell’s 4 Signature Barbecue Meat with Rice. We love the Barbecued Pork, Roast Duck, Roast Pork Belly, Roast Duck with Prince Noodles and many more. The slow roasted meat with crispy crackling tasted delicious with savoury umami flavour.“

For instance, the salt & pepper squid and ginger beef: the batter to meat ratio was off. Both had too much batter and were borderline soggy. Also got the salt and pepper tofu and the while the flavour was good, I just wish it was crisper. The dumplings were plump and juicy.“

“My nephew recommended Bamboo house and I ordered 4 medium platters for my wife’s birthday party. The order was cashew gai ding, ginger beef, Shanghai noodles with 3 meat and General Tao chicken, with a delivery time of 5 pm. The food was delivered exactly at 5 pm and this had to be the best Chinese food myself and our guests have ever had in Calgary. Very tasty, lots of food and a decent price. “It’s a great place for hot pot!
lots of choices to mix and match your own personal pot. The table seats 6 and lots of room for the dishes and meat. Meat is nicely sized and cut, presentation is awesome on the plate.

On the menu it’s listed that they have a two hour limit (maybe on busy days) we had ours on a Sunday and we stayed longer.

We appreciate the ingredient rack as it is maintained at 4 Deg C and regularly restocked by workers. Servers come regularly to check your table if you needed refills and table clearing.

We like the ice tea, not too sweet yet it’s tasty.

One thing though is the cup / plastic tumblers are stacked wet on the serving tray at the plate, spice, water and chopsticks bar. We dried it with paper towel before using, management needs to look into this practice, not presentable and unhygienic.

We really like that you can customize your dipping sauce with their various choices and ingredients, you are able to mix and match it, I think this is great!

I didn’t see lots of choices for noodles, they only have udon on the ingredients rack.

I also noticed that there are no other choices for fish balls. Personally I like to try different kinds of fish balls.

They have main broths to choose from which is great!

Definitely would be going back with family and friends!
