“Hurry here before the line is blocks long...If you have ever been to New York and eaten at Xi'an Famous Foods this is almost identical. The best hand pulled noodles I have had in North America by a long shot. Excellent texture and balance in all dishes, clearly made with love. Fast, polite and efficient service. This is a gem in the Calgary dining seen, and while some may want more seats in the restaurant I hope they never change.“

“Had dinner here in June 2025. Food and service were both excellent. We had vegetarian spring rolls, tofu mushrooms and broccoli and ROASTED BEEF FRIED WIDE NOODLE. 🔸 Stir-Fried Pork Liver: Personally felt like they might’ve skimped a bit on the cooking wine—the liver had a slight gamey taste. Still acceptable, but the flavor was a bit on the mild side. Maybe a splash more soy sauce would’ve done the trick? Taste is subjective, so I’m giving it a solid 4/5.

The lady boss was super friendly. They offer lunch specials with rice bowls, and the portion sizes are a bit above the Calgary average, though still not quite up to Northeastern China standards (we do eat big portions back home 😄).“

“This is the best ginger beef I’ve ever had — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I really love ginger beef, and Pink Pearl absolutely nailed it! I also ordered the salt and pepper chicken and chicken fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh, and super tasty.

Pink Pearl offers free delivery within 3.5 km, which is very convenient. The portions were generous, and the food traveled well.“

“I cannot express just how much I love this restaurant. Their salt and pepper squid is both a blessing and a curse because it is unlike any other, and anywhere else you go will be a disappointment. Big, tender chunks of squid in a golden crunchy batter that is never greasy, and perfectly salted. The sizzling black pepper beef is to die for, and the big juicy dumplings are done perfectly every time. I time trips to Calgary so that I never miss the Ho Won.“

My kids loves the chefs special fried rice.
Basically everything thing on their menu is amazing.
Here is what gets us to come back it tastes amazing and the portions you pay for is definitely more than what you get at other restaurants we have been too.
Ive taken family from out of provinces that love thier Chinese food and they say the same thing, its alot of portions and its amazingly good.
Go there and try a couple of your favorite dishes and see for yourself you wont be disappointed.

“This is an old-school Cantonese Noodle House restaurant. There isn't anything flashy about this restaurant. The wok-hey was awesome, especially for their noodle and fried rice dishes. The staff were very hardworking and courteous. Prices and portions were excellent. The restaurant was drab and could be cleaner.“

“I come here for dim sum pretty regularly for the last 35 years or so, their quality has been very consistently excellent. Also comes here for dinners and a wedding. They do the typical Cantonese style food very well. Even my nephew coming in from Guangzhou thought the food was good.“

“Tried Hot N' Fast for the first time yesterday and loved it so much I had to have it the next day as well! It's hard to find vegetarian options when eating out, especially options close to home, and their chow fun noodles with black bean sauce (with either tofu or chinese mushrooms) really hits the spot. Really enjoyed the meal from Fortune One! The fried rice was flavorful with a nice mix of veggies, and the stir-fried veggies were fresh and crisp. The sweet and sour chicken had a great sauce and tender pieces, paired well with the egg roll. The portion size was generous, and the included water bottle was a nice touch. Service was quick for takeout. Only minor gripe was that the egg roll could’ve been a bit crispier. Definitely worth a try for a tasty Chinese meal!“

“The value of the food here is unbeatable! I am so used to being disappointed by the serving sizes when I order out, that when I opened my order from Chili Island I had to write a review. All of the containers were bursting with food! I doubt they could have fit one more grain in the fried rice. Also, the flavours were top notch, with the ginger beef and the BBQ pork fried rice being real home runs (although my kids were huge fans of the noodles). Overall, a great choice when you’re craving Chinese food, and I will be back.“

“My nephew recommended Bamboo house and I ordered 4 medium platters for my wife’s birthday party. The order was cashew gai ding, ginger beef, Shanghai noodles with 3 meat and General Tao chicken, with a delivery time of 5 pm. The food was delivered exactly at 5 pm and this had to be the best Chinese food myself and our guests have ever had in Calgary. Very tasty, lots of food and a decent price. I would strongly recommend this restaurant!“

“I've been going to Wok With Dave for several years, although I will admit I've had a long break over the past few years. The order was prepared quickly and was on time for pick up (although I did only order Hot & Sour Soup). I ordered Hot & Sour Soup and it was very subpar. There are hardly any ingredients in it. It should have Chinese mushrooms, bamboo shoots, lily root (although I've yet to find this in Calgary), and black fungus as well as bean curd (tofu). This order had what I think is tiny pieces of chicken, carrot strips and tofu, some tiny things that I think are bamboo shoots (but not many), nothing else that I could note. Food was very disappointing. I guess I'm on the hunt for a proper Hot & Sour Soup provider in Calgary again. Sigh.“

We had sweet & sour pork with pineapples, beef brisket noodles, 3 treasures (tofu, eggplant and pepper) stuffed with shrimp paste and scallion chicken and they were all delicious and fresh. Service staff is loud and rushed just like how it is in HK, but efficient and kind in actuality. If you are looking for authentic Cantonese dishes, this is the place.“
