“Been coming here ever since I was a kid. Love the cheeseburgers, and friend okra. Blackberry cobbler has a place in my heart as the best dessert I've ever had.”
“Wow! This place was excellent! Hands down best Mexican restaurant in this area. Staff was so very friendly and efficient, everything we had was outstanding. We will be back!”
“Everything from the seating to the food and atmosphere was fantastic! Going to be even greater when the climate is better for outside seating. Will be going back !”
“We had the voodoo pasta and a blackberry pork chop special. Both were out of this world delicious. Nice atmosphere and we had a great time. Service was great considering there were prom night large groups in there.”
“Wow, this is a hidden local gem! In town for a conference and wanted some wings, MVPs had the highest rating around and I learned why. I seen the pics of lemon pepper wings and okra, I asked the lady serving me if they were the best. She suggested their most popular wing (I believe she said Da Most, I don't always hear well) and I took them paired with okra. Man, everything was crisp, I don't know what went on the fried okra but it is to die for! And the wings were amazing, the flavor profile was unique and delicious! Definitely worth the stop!”
“First chicken gizzards are hard to find but good gizzards are even harder to find. This place has some of the most tender gizzards I have ever had. Their fried green tomatoes were perfect Southern made. Can't beat the price to quantity food ratio. Great place to eat.”
“Love this place! I have eaten here since I was a kid and now enjoy it with my own family! My dad and I recently went to New York and tried pizza and let me tell you… I would’ve much rather had pizza from the Pizzeria & Pasta Shack! So delicious!”
“Went on a Saturday night and had sushi with my family. The godzilla roll was absolutely delicious (if you like deep fried food, you're in the south of course you do!) Only comes with 6 pieces though instead of the 8-9 like others, BUT the pieces are giant. Our server was super attentive and sweet as well.Vegetarian options: You can sub out meat/Poultry for tofuParking: Big open lot with separated spots”
“Wonderful find as I was making my way from Birmingham to Atlanta. Anniston is a sweet small town just North of I-20. True Southern hospitality at work here. Wonderful historic building downtown. I had one of the many daily specials, chicken, greens, Mac&cheese, black eyed peas and cornbread. All prepared with love, like Grandma was in the kitchen.”
“Melanie is the best and sweetest bartender ever! For the most part, the people who come are great. Most are over 30.Called Southern Roots now. A much larger area inside is opening in a few weeks, and they will have Bingosoon as well.”
“Passing through Al on the way to GA craving Chinese and had Siri search the nearest one. I am so glad this is where it took me. They did not skimp on food the way many places do now. Food is amazing and fresh.”
“So many great memories at this place! My dad Harvey Nixon from Cincinnati Ohio is from Anniston and used to take me and my sister here all the time when we’d visit my grandfather Harvey in Anniston Alabama! Best scrambled burgers and only ones we ever had with so many wonderful memories! I can’t wait to visit again and thank you for so many memorable moments of us all eating together ”
“Super kewl experience, owner gave us the full tour. Amazing experience and hair raising both!! If you do the tour, watch the little clear bottle, Lucinda might say hi!!”
“We had a great dinner there. The food was great! Our waiter was Alex he was funny and listened to everything we said. We won't be going to any other Mexican Restaurant besides this one. The portion size was great. We definitely will be back!”
“Picked up a couple of boba teas. Delicious. Chocolate egg waffle with m&m's was good. The coconut one didn't taste very coconut, though. Still was tasty. Wish it was closer to Oxford.”
